HINAHU, MIDORI-IRO — The first day of school is always a milestone, but this week it carried special meaning for Midori-Iro. The royal twins, Ancil and Alexandria, officially began their high school journey at Hōkūleʻa Academy, one of the nation’s most prestigious secondary schools known for its strong academic traditions and focus on cultural heritage.

While the arrival of the twins drew much attention from classmates and faculty, the moment was distinctly family-centered. Their older sister, Queen Adriana, attended quietly, dressed in her favorite powder-blue sweats, her hair tied simply, and without the royal entourage usually seen at state occasions. Though her position as queen carries weight, her presence was that of a big sister cheering on her siblings as they stepped into a new chapter.

Principal Takeshi Watanabe shared his enthusiasm:

“Today is not only about welcoming Ancil and Alexandria, but about celebrating every student who is beginning this new stage. We believe each child here is destined to shine like the guiding stars our school is named after. The twins remind us that leadership and learning go hand in hand — values we strive to instill in all our students.”

The twins themselves were brimming with excitement, each offering their own perspective on the milestone.

Ancil, known for his curiosity and humor, said:

“I’m a little nervous, but mostly excited. There are so many things I want to learn, especially in science. I just want to make new friends and be myself here.”

Alexandria, with her thoughtful and artistic nature, reflected:

“For me, high school feels like a blank canvas. I want to explore music and literature, and see what kind of person I grow into. It feels like a new adventure, and I’m ready.”

Queen Adriana, speaking softly but with her natural poise, added:

“I’m here today not as your queen, but as a proud big sister. Watching Ancil and Alexandria take this step reminds me that while duty and responsibility matter, so do dreams, laughter, and the everyday moments of growing up. I couldn’t be prouder of them.”

Students and parents alike remarked on the rare glimpse of the royal family’s private side. Rather than pomp and ceremony, the scene was filled with smiles, hugs, and the universal energy of a first day of school.

As the twins begin their high school journey, they step not only into classrooms but into the hearts of their peers — carrying with them both the weight of heritage and the lightness of youth.
