So... Ed Roll'd

Apparently this prospect could eventually be on par with the likes of Rick-Rolling.

I’m still highly skeptical. But, it certainly is odd enough, all things considered. And catchy. The guy just can’t seem to be sad. Then again, being in 1960’s-1970’s Russia, I guess there wasn’t enough stuff to keep you down, lol. I’d be highly surprised if he wasn’t lip-syncing too.

HOHOHOHOHO!

I knew this would eventually end up here. I was about to post it, but you beat me to it.

Hahaha, I think I like the second one a little better. I personally wouldn’t know how to respond if I saw someone sitting next to my table in a cafe suddenly break out into song.

I kind of want to know the story behind this though. I know the first singer is a guy named Eduard Hill and, on closer inspection, the filming for that took place in 1976, but outside of that I don’t know, lol.

russians, theys are so sillies! https://groups.tapatalk-cdn.com/smilies/52127/1536592186.4266-smiley.gif?ttinline=true

Good lord not another roll please!

head explodes

Now this is incredible. Hungarian singer János Koos travelled to the Soviet Union and from one trip he brought back the Trolololo song. It’s funny to see a singer well known in my country singing this song, and on the top of that, he sings some lines to it.

Eduard Khil sang this song because his songwriter collaborated with another dude, only to back out of it due to cheesy lyrics.

I’m not certain as to the validity of this, but someone told me that he (Eduard Hill) sang the song this way because the actual song was banned, and since he couldn’t technically sing it he did this to the same music and whatnot, in defiance of the ban. Which would kind of explain his extreme smile, he was trying to be pretty much as belligerent in the face of the ban as he could.

Like I said, I can’t validate this, but it is interesting to think about.
