Space Programs

I figured perhaps we could have a space program interest thread to talk about space programs, starting them, maybe forming coalitions or some kind of international effort.

  1. Vekaiyu had a space program, but it more or less went away when they started to become interested in magnetic flight.

  2. Listonia had a short-lived space program. They had one test flight and one blow up on the launch pad (it was not piloted so no lives were lost). Both came from old Vekaiyun rockets purchased at a premium:

It would be awesome to be honest. I’ll just insert some information on the rocketry program.

The Veridian Empire, before the formation into the Northern Gondwana Union in the '80s, had a rocket program sending up probes and satellites, but it was never a massive undertaking. Funding for the space program got slashed considerably. This was to funnel money into the unification process and bring other nations to par with the Veridian Empire in terms of infrastructure and economy. As a result nothing major or ambitious ever happened, and the Veridian Empire is the only nation with a semblance of a Space Program.

The other nations never had much of a space program, instead they had rocketry programs for military purposes, cruise missiles, etc etc. Nothing to break the atmosphere or relating to ICBMs and the sort.

If the partnership thing does happen, I’m sure the Veridian Empire would be willing to send manpower and supplies to assist. Manufacturing would have to depend on the agreements that will be made.

My nation has an large space program, with nine orbiters and a small space station. Only one major disaster has ever occurred, and there have recently been efforts to create livable colonies in orbit of the Urth.

The Emberwood Coast Space Exploration Agency would be happy to work together on any orbital or extraorbital construction project. Any available vehicles or supplies will be put towards it.

Modern shuttles use small onboard Nuclear Reactors to power electrical impulse ion thrusters. They’re equipped with up-to-date computer systems and displays, and have crews of six to eight. No ECSEA ship has ever been armed.

There are two divisions of the Mexregionan field of spatial exploration:
NOTER: National Organization (of) Targeting Exploding Rockets
MASTeR: Mexregional Agency (of) Spatial Technology (and) Rockets
Carkley Bolten is the Director of both of these organizations; he is deeply intwined with the government and the public, although he has been quite silent lately.
Both of these organizations, specifically after the Hegemon Rocket incident that briefly threw Mexregiona into anarchy and got Mister Leader I killed by East Malaysian rebels, have been at a stalemate; rather than shove some more rockets into space and make the international community mad, they have decided to keep to themselves and continue testing combustion chambers and such without leaving the exosphere.
If I’m not mistaken, this is the current state of my space program.
Many possible leaps can be taken from here, since the base has been laid. I am open to comments and concerns with NOTER, MASTeR, and Bolten. I’d also like to say that I may put some other characters into my stories in the future. That is all, for now.

Dragonia has no true space agency.

The military does have access to rockets to send satellites up into orbit. Which is under the purview of the Dragonia Air Force (DAF).

The other one is: Altair Incorporated a privetly owned company. Was owned by Multi-billionaire Seth Altair, the Laird of Altair. I say was, because Laird Altair was murdered in the Lancefield Hotel bombing in Sydonia-Apposima by the Corsair Mercenary Company. ( … RP thread http://s2.zetaboards.com/The_East_Pacific/topic/5230671/1/ … )

Right now his wife is at the helm of the company until their son, the new Laird of Altair finishes his college education. So currently Altar Incorporated is in a ‘semi-holding’ pattern until he graduates.

Both Altair Inc. and the Dragonian Military are interested in figuring out if these two technologies would be viable for a reusable space-plane/shuttle: Quad-Metal Alloy and Crystalline Osmium Glass ( https://www.nationstates.net/nation=dragonia/detail=factbook/id=346447 )

A joint effort might be feasible.

We’ve recently put more funds towards space exploration, and our already well-funded science department and STEM educational system suggests we should see results within a generation.

I’m not entirely sure where our scientists are getting the materials for the space program… perhaps buying up cast-off parts from the defunct space exploration programs of neighboring countries?..

Respublika Bielarus started our space program 3 years back with military and weather satellites. They are controlled by the RBAFSA,The Respublika Bielarus Air Force Space Agency. No exploration is scheduled at the given time, but many Presidential candidates are proposing getting it going soon.

Tretrid has a space program, called the SPSR, or the Space Program of the Second Republic. It’s main job is to explore the space around Urth and gather information, but sometimes the SPSR launches spy satellites for the military. Currently it has many satellites around Urth and one on Olune. (Yes, I had to search to find out the name)

Axdels space agency is known as the Axdel National Space Agency (ANSA). It is however mostly owned by the military and used to operate their numerous spy satellites, and thus there have been no manned missions as of yet (though I might change that if Pax decides to move to the moon). ANSA specialises in high payload rockets, with the most powerful being able to deliver an 80 metric tonne payload to mid-low earth orbit.

I haven’t yet designed an emblem or come up with any specific detail, though the organisation is open to coalition with other nations/programmes.

Stratarin runs the Strataric Osvoyeniye Kosmosa i Nauchno-Issledovatel’skaya Programma (SOKNIP), a small but growing agency. Mainly used for spy satellites until Drugov rescued the Strataric economy. With better funding and a new Minister of Astronomical Research they’ve upped productivity drastically.

I’m glad we’re talking about this! (because when we changed tech I envisioned a being a leading force behind a international space station that we have. You know in space :p)

East Malaysia has a large space program and is honestly an almost bully as it wants to be informed of any launches that could endanger it’s own assets.

The Aeronautics, Space and Weather Administration (ASWA) is a semiautonomous division of the Imperial Aviation Command. East Malaysia welcomes all ally nations to take part of the advantages of research and access it’s space station that can be leased out under certain conditions.

Fortuna does not exactly have a space program or even have an interest in space much. We only have the capability of sending rockets into orbit, but that is only used to send satellites, so no manned missions.

The Fortunan Science and Engineering Department (FSED) has a Space Branch which controls anything space related in Fortuna. Since the FSED is pretty much controlled by the government (dictatorship if anyone hasn’t noticed yet), anything done by the FSED Space Branch is done to strengthen the military. So the main focus of the Space Branch is to launch and monitor space satellites (highly outdated) and design and build ballistic missiles.

Most of the technology for the Space Branch is outdated (like everything in Fortuna…) and not of top priority. This is because Fortuna has no real interest in space and at the same time is a bit intimidated by surrounding nations. So yeah, don’t expect much from us when it comes to reaching for the stars.

Tuvaltastan had the Tuvalt Aerospace Organization, but it was dissolved into the Tuvalt Aero Force. If you consider a government as a space organization, then Tuvaltastan has a space program. The Aero Force is just a tad more futuristic than our world’s NASA, having built two space stations rather than one, the more recently-built one spinning to simulate gravity.

The http://nswiki.org/index.php?title=Avalon_Aerospace_Corporation is a Corporation that doubles as the Adumaran Space Administration, which manages all of Adumara’s Astronautical happenings, with assistance from the Air Force branch of the AAF.

The Adumaran Space Administration(ASA) is Adumara’s space agency, which receives almost all of its products and equipment from the AAC, is overseen by both the AAC and the Air Force. The ASA, since its founding in 1964, has put a man on the moon and returned him home the year of its founding, launched a total of 5 spy satellites, and one small station with a maximum of 3 astronauts manning it at a time. It uses two heavy lifter systems(Andromeda and Rodina), as well as one light lifter(Falcon) to reach orbit and maintain its orbital facilities.

The AAC is planning the construction of an MPLO(Multi-Purpose Low Orbit) station, which would serve multiple purposes, including a Communications satellite, a Spy satellite, and a weapons platform, although a ship will need to visit and modify the station in order to have it perform the other tasks, but it is quite simple to. The AAC is also planning the construction of a research station in orbit that will be spinning to simulate gravity. This project is planned to be completed in early 2020.

The Oan Space Service is the Oan Isles’s space agency. It is responsible for developing and maintaining our space exploration infrastructure and technology. It has primarily focused on astronomy and deploying satellites using Aequator Island for most of its work. The Oan Space Corps is a proposed military organisation aimed at space warfare that is planned for the coming decades.
