Statement from the Cabinet of the South Pacific
in regards to the Modern Pacific Alliance
As you are no doubt aware, the Assembly of the South Pacific has voted to withdraw from the Modern Pacific Alliance. Whilst we continue to believe in the principles upon which the alliance was formed, we feel that the Modern Pacific Alliance did not fulfil the lofty aims it set out for itself. We wish to stress our continuing friendship to you, and look forward to continuing relations with you as a close diplomatic partner, be it informally or via bi-lateral treaty arrangements.
