Out of 137 WA Nations surveyed the following five points of interest were found to have occurred between a 3.5 month period.
-
38/137=27.7% no longer exist.
-
1/137=0.7% are no longer in the WA, but still reside in the region.
-
7/137=5.1% are still in the WA, but moved to another region.
- 1 moved to Can of Bears, 1 moved to Oregon, 1 moved to The North Pacific, 1 moved to Poele Island, 1 moved to the Land of the Liberals, 1 moved to Unknown, and 1 moved to The South Pacific
-
9/137=6.6% are no longer in the WA, and moved to another region.
- 7 moved to Lazarus, 1 moved to East Pacific, 1 moved to Tokugawa Japan
-
55/137=40.1% are still in the WA, and still reside in the region.
The most interesting points being 1, 3, and 5 (4 - overwhelming majority predictably get added to group 1 after another month or so). A little under one-third of the nations that were WA no longer exist. Still interesting, albeit not as significant are 5% of the nations are still in the WA, but for one reason or another moved to another region. Quite disturbing is the fact roughly 40% of the nations originally surveyed still reside in the region and are still affiliated with the World Assembly.
If you refer to newer WA’s it’s quite likely raid pups.
Yes. That many do in fact get used.
Wants to stab the WA that moved to Unknown Another useless non-soldier player. <_</raider commander complaining.
Most of the nations on the list are fairly established, maybe 20-30% rough are new/newer.

This is a common statistic throughout most feeder regions. There is a “core” of nations (both in and not in the WA) which remain in the region and either keep to themselves or participate on or off the forums. By and large, those in the region that wish to keep to themselves want to keep it that way; the exception was a year ago today when TEP was emerging from its occupation.
As for those nations in Lazarus, I wouldn’t really classify them as “leaving the WA”. Rather, it is most likely due to them being refounded, which removes one’s WA by default.
Well the purpose of anything scientific is to simply state the facts. Fact is roughly 28% of the nations surveyed ceased to exist, 5% moved to other regions while maintaining WA affiliation, and only 40% of the nations surveyed are still in the WA and in The East Pacific.
Most of the others either refounded or quit. The game doesn’t really offer much…to do…so it’s rather naive to simply say everyone just made a new nation.
Has anyone ever bothering doing a check on this (either small or large-scale) with actual numbers? I found the results to be interesting, the conclusion was pretty obvious, but instead of simply saying nationstates is decreasing, you have an actual number. Out of the nations checked, we lost roughly 60% one way or another; the way you get to losing 60% doesn’t really matter, losing 60% is losing 60%. Which is an F by grade school standards.
(Unless we want to go into conspiracies or specific instances, as in I gave the actual names of the nations. The one in the SP was ejected from here, for example).
edit: fixed a typo or two
Really interesting to see, although I’m not one to read into these things too much, its just a natural progression of the game.
Yeah, feeders are based a a [relatively] small core of players - plus plenty of people make puppets and let them sit around in feeders
