Historical Summary: In 1231 Alva conquered part of the territory that is now present day Taiyō. The area they conquered was small at first, being only part of the north. Eventually Alva conquered the rest of the area. Before this area was taken by Alva it was filled with small warlord states that were constantly at war with each other. There was a lot of insurgence in this new area and eventually this was released as a client state, still under the control of Alva, but with its own leader. This state was primitive compared to Alva, as they spent most of their history fighting each other not caring for education.
Eventually in 1254 the Alvan Empire collapsed leaving Taiyō independent. By this time Taiyō was still a warlord state, so they were not as civilized or educated as the nations surrounding it. The other nations knew about the warlike tendencies of this nation. Yet, the nation was too weak to go to war with any of it’s neighbors for the time being, so they waited for the right time to strike. Taiyō still had a lot of infighting from all the groups of people that were forced together. Eventually the state broke up into many small states once again.
This era was called the Taiyōian Dark Ages. The states kept fighting mini wars, with no states winning any of them. All the states were different tribes that had grown up hating each other, and consequently fighting their entire histories. This era went on for hundreds of years until in 1732 the nation finally united under one ruler.
The man who united the area was Ogasawara Togai, of the Togai clan. This clan was in the north of the area bordering Vistaraland and Suvania. He didn’t unite the area through peace however. Ogasawara was a great strategist, and led his tribe to many victories even though their army was as big as the others. He ended up taking over all of area and crushing the tribes and insurgence through mass genocide.
The nation was finally united once again. Their army was still not big enough to go to war with any nations around them without getting utterly destroyed. They waited, and while they were waiting they started educating the nation and becoming more civilized. They ended up catching up to their neighbors in technology eventually and started producing era appropriate weapons for when they eventually wanted to declare war.
In 1798 Taiyō ended up following suit with Vistaraland and industrialized. The first industry that was started in Taiyō was arms manufacturing, making hundreds of guns. At this point the military was growing larger, and Taiyō started selling their guns to foreign nations to grow their economy. This selling did not make them rich in any means and only gave enough money for the nation to run itself and it’s military. Most of the nation was still very poor and slums made up most of the nation.
Taiyō ended up sending troops to fight in foreign wars, since they didn’t want to go to war with their neighbors. When the Great War started they joined, intending to show their worth and show off their elite trained troops and their guns. They ended up not doing great, and instead of showing off, they were just brushed off as just one of the combatants in the war. This angered Taiyō and they started training and building their military and arms industry more and more.
On the world stage Taiyō is very diplomatic, mostly making other nation hate them. They like to gloat and send threats to other nations, but no nations did anything about this. The nation never got out of it’s war phase and is still today a warlord/warlike nation. They also still have a large arms industry, not focusing their industry on much else, leaving the majority of the nation in poverty. The nation is ruled by the military, with their leader being the head of the military. The nation now sits just south of Vistaraland stewing and waiting for it’s time to shine on the world stage.
