Referenda are common, and elections of all kinds see typically see high rates of turnout. The current prime minister, elected in February of 2021, is Žarís Nevran Alandar. The Minister of External Affairs, responsible for coordinating all diplomacy and foreign relations on behalf of the Empire, is Endra Tivriš Žovradai.

His Grace has bid I provide you with the following Statement of Intent:

“Los saludos y bendiciones más honrados sobre ustedes. In the name of Our forefathers and mothers, by the Grace of God, and with the embodied power of Our citizens We issue this Statement of Intent to His Majesty, Zaram the Fifth, King of All Tavaris, High Chief of the Tribes of Rodoka, Chief of Nuvo, Chief of Chiefs, Lord-Patron of Ilaris, and Defender of the Faith. We hope for the continued health of You and Your family. The two great peoples of Our nation and Yours would enrich themselves through education, trade, travel, and cooperation a greater dialog would bring. In time, We hope that the improvement of relations will contribute to a more united and peaceful world, closer to the prosperous community of friendships across Urth so many strive for, and further for a friendship that spans the great continent we both share. Que la gracia de Dios esté con vosotos, y que la corona sea siempre ligera.”

My thanks and well-wishes unto you, with the hope of future friendship and happiness.

En nombre de Dios y de todas las virtudes caballeresas,
In the name of God and all chivalric virtues,

First Minister of Diplomacy
Matias Gómez

Nolar had a huge grin plastered on his face as he set a dossier full of documents on the desk of his supervisor. “Mani Akronanar, Tovar! You need to see what Casillo and Real just sent us.”

“Please don’t swear,” said Tovar in a defeated voice. His intern would not stop swearing. He knew this, and it made him so… so very tired inside. “But thank you, I’ll ta- HOLY SHIT!”

“Right? That’s what I’m saying! They went all out.”

“Well, I’ll be sure to give the minister a glowing reccomendation. It seems like no one ever does it the formal way anymore. This is a lost art. It’s… magnificent. Look, they used the King’s full title and everything. And… spirits above… ‘the continent we both share?’ Yeah, these guys are getting everything they want.”

“Awesome!” Nolar turned to leave Tovar’s cubicle.

“Not so fast, Nolar. You get to write the first draft of response.”

“Did you know, Tovar, that Iboma is actually the world’s first Akronist state? It preceded Acronis in establishing Akronism as the state religion by centuries.” Nolar the Intern set a dossier on his supervisor’s desk.

“Out of all the countries in the world to send us a request at a time like this, Iboma? Who’s next, Karishkanov?”

“Aren’t they, like, literally at war right now?”

“Karishkanov? Yes. Iboma? No. And if we want Iboma to stay that way and be on our side, the more friendly we are to them, the better. Vana Dandreal might not be happy about it, but then, she rarely is about anything.”

Nolar was quiet for a moment—which was quite rare for him. So rare, in fact, that Tovar almost asked him what was wrong, but Nolar spoke first.

“Do you… really think it could come to that? War, I mean? Over the secession?”

Tovar, too, was silent for several moments. “That’s above my paygrade,” he finally said. “Let’s just focus on writing our friendly letters. These days, the world needs all the good will it can get.”
