The Allied Republics

Hi! I am the delegate of The Allied Republics. Some helpful links:

http://www.nationstates.net/region=the_allied_republics

http://w11.zetaboards.com/Allied_Republics/index/

Region size: 200+ with very few puppets.

http://www.nationstates.net/nation=aractia. I am also the delegate.

We are a very large region. And, we consider ourselves to be the most active in NationStates. Our forum gets about 400-500 new posts daily. We are democratic and have a strong constitution. We have our own money system, using the Zetaboards AiO add on for our forum. There are a lot of businesses and newspapers in our region. Even a radio show with a new episode weekly! On the defender/raider issue, we are neutral. We have a military, but it is only used to protect allies. Besides training, we have only used the military once, when an ally requested assistance.

Another thing, we’d like an alliance. Not just a forum consulate.

We may not be a massive feeder region, but we are very large for a player created region. We are growing by the day. We have a successful recruitment program. In fact, I would argue that we are even more active than the Pacific in terms of posts on our RMB and forum. When we ally with a region, we keep relations with them. We do not just build an embassy and forget. We keep providing periodic updates and working together. We are allied with the West Pacific, and we are so close we have done a couple of training raids together with our respective defense forces. We are allies with a couple of smaller regions as well, and we have assisted these regions in establishing a recruitment program like ours, helping them grow as well.

So…yeah. Accept our alliance and in-game embassy request, maybe?

Your forum embassy request has been accepted. I will have Todd create a subforum for you when he can. Please take a look at the No Frontiers Project, however.

Thanks. Once we maintain active relations for at least a couple weeks, I’ll apply for an in-game embassy.

Embassy created!

The Allied Republics is a large, democratic region. We consider ourselves to be the most active region on NationStates. Our forum gets around 400-500 new posts daily. We have over 200 nations. We have a solid recruitment program. Our forum uses the Zetaboards add on called AiO, which creates a virtual economy and money system. Business have emerged at TAR. We have a booming newspaper industry. TAR is also the home of the only radio station in the NS world. We have an active law school and business school which hands out degrees to scholars who complete lessons and classes. There are law firms, industries, tabloids, political news networks, everything!

This is what makes us a great region. In many regions, if one is not elected to the government, they can have a very boring and inactive nation. There isn’t much to do. That’s not what TAR is like. At TAR, there really is a multitude of opportunities. Many nations have a business, serve as ambassadors or recruiters, or work for one of the newspapers. It’s very unique.

This is just a very basic overview of The Allied Republics. Through our alliance with TEP, we hope to one day establish an in-game embassy. I will be posting here multiple times a week. Stay updated!

Greetings, fellow citizens of the The East Pacific! This is the first update about the The Allied Republics so first let’s first introduce the region for you.

Politics
The Allied Republics has a very active political system, based on democratic principles, the region’s constitution guarantees vast political and civil rights to the population, elections are constant, every 1 month there are elections that are divided in 2 types: General Elections when the presidency, delegacy and 5 seats in the senate are at stake, while in the mid-term elections there are 4 seats in the senate at dispute.
The region welcomes diverse political views, you can find socialists, liberals, conservatives, libertarians and even autocratic nations in the TAR. There are also several political parties representing several different views about the region, even though they are able to compromise in order to ensure regional growth.
Elections are very competitive and with high turnouts.

Stability and Security
Many could conclude, an active political system leads to instability, but that idea has been demoted in our region. Even with many challenges, the region has a stable government for more than 10 months and we are currently electing our fifth government showing the success and strength of our democracy.
It’s also important to notice that the region is protected against puppets and spies, it also has an active army capable of acting in order to defend the region’s interests.

Activity, Entertainment and RP
The regional forum offers great and varied activity for all types of nations. With over 20,000 posts, you can encounter topics about real-world politics or important issues. There are also plenty of fun topics and forum games to keep nations involved.
Lastly, TAR has a rising Role-Play community, with a regional map that contains many nations and several active RPs focused on sports and war between regional nations.

Elections
We have just gone through our 5th elections! Our new President is Icamera from the Freedom Party, who was elected in a run-off against his strong opponent from the Republican Party. World Assembly delegate Aractia was reelected by a whopping margin, easily crushing the opposing candidate. Senate elections also went smoothly.

This update has been brought to you by the Office of Ambassador and Embassies, we hope you liked this update. Thanks for your attention.

NOTE: New Lehi was a nation who was banned from TAR for excessive trolling, however it was later found that the trial was not just. A new trial has allowed him back to the region. When he was banned, he formed a region called United Front who’s sole purpose was to bring down TAR.

First things first, I would like to apologize for the delay in my second public address (to make up for it, I’ll make this one a bit more formal); from Sunday evening to late Wednesday night, I had the pleasure of spending all day without any electricity or heat, courtesy of Hurricane Sandy (By the way, I’m hoping you’ve fared well down in D.C., Bacilli and Aractia). Even though power was restored to my house two days ago, there was still no internet, cable, landline phone, or wi-fi access until this morning. I’d have popped in for a few minutes with my phone, but dead battery on Saturday + lack of foresight = no charge at all… which didn’t exactly make the power outage much more enjoyable for me.

While I am sorely tempted to use this address to prattle on about my Hurricane Sandy story, that’s not going to do any good for TAR. Instead, I’ll keep on topic by discussing hot-button issues. Last time, everyone was wondering about my cabinet appointments, so my address in The Patriot dealt with that; now, I feel that the Lehi verdict is the most significant story - and that’s saying something, considering everything else that has been going on here based on what I’ve seen since skimming through what I missed during Sandy.

Back in August, during the treaty negotiations with the United Front, I always maintained a belief that, if readmitted, New Lehi could be a productive, law-abiding, active member of our region. Yet, that meant little; we had all seen his willingness to help improve TAR via peaceful methods in his Free Kopenhagen persona. Rather, the real question was a matter of whether New Lehi would do so. Again, I had a hunch that yes, he would - once Lehi was permitted to reside in his desired home freely, without needing to resort to deception and masks as he had done with Malone City and FK, he would end hostilities.

At the time, that view was considered overly optimistic, even naive, by many others involved in the United Front talks. Nevertheless, that hope continued to flicker in my mind - but then, the treaty was rejected by the Fourth Senate, Lehi and company behaved poorly upon receiving the news, and that small flame was nearly extinguished.

Nearly. I still have high hopes for our returning member, still believe that he is receiving a much-deserved, true second chance to make us forget about the past. However, as always, I acknowledge that this could be difficult; Lehi will need to follow the advice I gave him to avoid returning to his confrontational ways, and likewise the people of TAR will need to follow the advice I gave them to be accepting of our returnee. Reconciliation is a two-way street, so we’ll have to work together towards a more peaceful community.

Welcome back, New Lehi. Don’t make us regret this.

Thanks for the unique update.

of course! I will be updating our forum consulates regularly. The Allied Republics isn’t the type of region who neglects allies. We constantly strive to form stronger relations.

We completed our mid-term elections recently, and we expanded our Senate to 11 members! People are already thinking about General Elections, where we will elect more senators, a President, and delegate. I’m running for delegate reelection!

We have a lot of laws waiting in queue for the Senate to pass or reject, so things our moving well.

And last and most importantly, the law currently at vote in the World Assembly was drafted by one of our own members! Imperium Londinium’s resolution to protect the rights of the disabled looks like it is about to pass. The region is extremely proud of him!

Thanks for the update.

Hello ally!

Elections are back at The Allied Republics! We had four candidates in our Presidential election, and a run-off between Britarvia and Icamera (incumbent) will decide the winner on who will serve as TAR’s next President for the next two months. Our delegate elections have reelected Aractia, who is now serving a third term. Senate elections are this week!

Our forum has a money system called the AiO. The AiO gives nations $10 virtual dollars for every post they make. And they can collect 2% of their money from daily interest at teh bank. People use the money for businesses people set up in TAR. Their are newspapers, universities, logo makers, anything! Unfortunately, the system has been down for the last few months. The only thing working is the bank and the money sending system. We’ve been frantically searching for a replacement, we may have found one. However, this system does have some faults. The region remains divided on the issue to switch to a new system with some imperfections or keep the system with limited functionality.

On a brighter note, TAR has finally closed its Office of Military Intelligence, which was created to combat some enemies we had a while ago. The Office has merged with the Defense Council. TAR considers itself to be free of enemies now.

Thank you for being our ally!

Hello ally! Run-offs are over! We have reelected President Icamera, and the new Senate is back in session. Icamera has made recruitment his priority, and the population of the region ahs grown significantly since he took office. We expect the region to grow even more. His budget devoted almost the regions entire budget on the Recruitment Department. Almost all taxes collected from citizens are devoted for paying bonuses to each recruiter. which brings me to my next point!

The regional economy! In my last update, I wrote about our regional economy called the AiO. The law has passed, and the new money system will been installed for our forum in the coming days. Businesses will be back, and nations will start receiving bonuses on each post they make on the forum!

Thanks for being our ally!

Greetings, I’m Area III, or better yet Mikanada. I’ve recently been appointed as an ambassador to The East Pacific from The Allied Republics, by our newly elected WA Delegate, Monico.

7th General Elections Summary
WA Delegate and Senate ElectionsThe 7th General Elections for President, WA Delegate, and five Senatorial positions have for the most part been concluded, with the exception of the Presidential election. As mentioned earlier Monico is our newly elected WA Delegate. The five nations elected to our senate are Trook, Sethanon, Saltpans, Obito, Robertsonstan.

Presidential ElectionsThe Candidates for President are Libertarian Washington, Lewis and Daniel, and Imperium Londinium. You may have been wondering as to why the Presidential election has not been concluded yet, well here is the explanation:

In The Allied Republics, to attain the Presidency(or Delegacy) you have to win by a majority vote, which the leading nation did not receive, so we have to do a run-off poll between the first and second most popular, you might say “alright, easy enough, one more poll, not a big deal”, but it doesn’t stop there. In the original poll the candidates Lewis and Daniel and Imperium Londinum were both tied in second place. This meant we need to have a TWO run-off polls; the first between the two runner-ups, and the second between the winner of the first run-off and the leader of polls in the original poll.

I’m glad to say that the first run-off poll has since been concluded, with Lewis and Daniel leading by one vote. The second run-off poll has now commenced and will end this Friday. Until then we continue with our business, and watch in amazement at how close this Presidential election has been. Lewis and Daniel currently leads the poll by one vote against Libertarian Washington.

Who will be the next President of The Allied Republics?
Look forward to more updates from The Allied Republics!

Thanks for the news.

Thanks for the update.

The Presidential election has been concluded, results will be released later on.
