The Chronicles of Corveth and Corvenism

Chapter 1 - Beginnings Part 1: Prologue

Although not much is known about Corveth’s early life (or even if Corveth was his real name) We have managed to track down many old manuscripts and artifacts from the Village of “Odo” from the time period that helps us get a glimpse at the life of Corveth.

We know that Corveth’s personal journal claiming his birth year was in 519 CE (Year 1 in Corvenism Calender) and that he left Odo in 543 CE, Corveth claimed that his mother was a “harlot “ and his father was unknown to him. Corveth also wrote that growing up he held strong feelings of opposition and respect towards his Mother, even calling her a “witch”. He notes she died when Corveth was in his late teens due to a “mysterious disease”. Modern Scholars still debate on what this disease was.

For the next four years after leaving Odo, we have more information available on what Corveth was up to, multiple towns and small cities kept reporting in their visitor logs that a young man fitting similar descriptions would visit these cities on the regular, however he would always provide a different name, we know that Corveth was seen studying at different libraries, learning from Elders in these communities and had developed a fascination with History and Theology.

Corveth also learned how to trade, bargain, learned self defense and combat techniques from various sources who he encountered on his journeys… (to be continued)

Chapter 1 - Beginnings Part 2:

It is unsure where or when Corveth received his revelations, but he claims it was on a wooded and rocky mountain range, what we do know is that Corveth was very different after this supposed encounter.

Upon his return from his hiatus, Corveth brought with him a book, which he claimed laid the foundations on how “God” wanted the region to settle on and adopt.

Obviously this was met with speculation and resistance, many of the people of his day were not welcoming to change, especially when the change was saying their entire way of life was wrong, Corveth was chased out of town, only taking a few followers with him.

Local Military Authorities also put him on a wanted list, so Corveth and his supporters would often only stay in a select place for a few days. They established a new base in a city called “Urim” and guarded it throughly.

Corveth was a very charismatic man and would easily convert people and get others to do the same, in only the first year of him proselytizing, he had an estimated 120,000-140,000, due to this rapid expansion, the local pagan religions began to lose trust in their own faith, they could not believe that their religions were being forgetten so quickly, which made more and more pagans join Corveth.
