Historical Summary: After overthrowing a theocratic monarchy in 300 C.E, an atheistic totalitarian republic was formed with two elected leaders called Optimulei from the senate every 3 years as a safeguard against letting one man have too much power. A xenophobic society, Crimpateia has been ideological enemies with Sayyed for millennia and the two refuse to engage in any sort of trade.
Historical Summary: After overthrowing a theocratic monarchy in 300 C.E, an atheistic totalitarian republic was formed with two elected leaders called Optimulei from the senate every 3 years as a safeguard against letting one man have too much power. The Senate was elected every 10 years and consisted of 50 men and women from the aristocracy, elected by military personnel and other aristocrats. This quickly showed fault however, as only the interests of the military and aristocracy were ever looked after, leaving the working class starving and cripplingly poor.
In order to cement power and prevent revolts, the ruling classes instilled in the populace a culture of fear and hatred. All this culminated on October 21st, 572, when Optimil SenekeiKarlus declared that all non humanoids were to be executed on sight, due to concerns of religious extremism. Elves, despite making up 15% of the population, were shunned for centuries after.
The land of the Crimpateian people was suddenly discovered by Lord Paulus Maursch to have remarkably iron-rich sands and caves in the early 9th century, leading to a massive economic boom. The poorer classes of Crimpateia suddenly were mass-employed by the aristocracy, leading to the creation of a defined Military class. These families would make their own weapons and armour, and all military age Crimpatei men and women of their house would fight for their republic. Elves were rarely ever hired and remained in the deepest parts of the slums until 853, when The Senate and Optimulei agreed with a 42/8 split to begin a genocide of the elves under grounds of “Scheming to destroy the republic.” This was less effective as the last massacre, and as such there are still insular elven communities in hiding.
Emboldened by the sudden surge in military power they had recently gained, Crimpatein imperialism had begun. Under the command of the Optimil, General, and Kaesir Wildeimo "The Great"Armikulair, the Crimpatei invaded the lands north and west of their small peninsula. Unexpected opposition was met in the Xuhari Elven homelands. Despite being outnumbered two to one, it was a decisive victory for Kaesir Wildemo and the capital City was slaughtered. Major towns and villages were notified and the Xuhari abandoned their towns to pursue a life up in the northern deserts.
The Serene Emirate of Sayyed was in sparse contact with Crimpateia and had exchanged goods on rare occasion, but tensions suddenly rose in 1128 following the Murder of Champo Dema, an elf and member of a crucial merchant family. This was likely an act of xenophobia and racism, as none of the other with him were harmed. This murder changed relations irrevocably due to the Optimulei’s refusal to apologize for the tragedy.
Crimpatein expansion continued steadily for centuries but has all but ceased in early modern history. Expansion is still on the minds of the senate, but any imperialistic moves may end up upsetting the delicate balance of Mirhaimian-Sayqidi-Crimpatein relations. Domestic affairs have occupied much of the nation’s time as instability and corruption have never been higher.
