**Heir to the Throne Announced
His Imperial Majesty the Emperor announced that the heir to the throne and occupant of the role of second in command would be held by Her Imperial Highness the Duchess of Alderaan (Aayla). Three choices of title were given for the second in command position as is custom. Viceroy, Vicereine, and Executor. The Duchess chose the title of Viceroy, she has a long history of public service in the NGE going back nearly four years. Serving as Secretary of State, Head of the Council of Peers, High Moff, Empress-Consort, and remains a long-standing member of the Imperial Family.

Imperial Economy Restored
Master Xilross has been appointed to the position of Moff of Finance in a flux of recent laws passed by the Imperial Senate restoring economy. The Empire has long held a tradition of an economy, after the loss of the last forum due to various reasons. The economy was put on the list of needed reforms. As part of the new policies, government departments will be given a sum of Imperial Credits to budget as each Department sees fit, rather than one sweeping salary list. A new addition to the Imperial Economy is the removal of privatly owned companies, something which had created stagnation in the Empire’s previous system.

Special Chancellor Elections!
After an expected return to the political scene, Darth Revan II the former Emperor won an uncontested election to become the new Chancellor of the Senate. However soon after, Revan made it known that he is giving up NationStates to focus on real life. So to fill the void left by Revan; Vaculatestar, a long-standing member of the region and former Chancellor has agreed to take up the reigns of the Chancellery until a special election can be held to fill the position. The special election is expected to take place in two to three weeks from the 6th of June.

We hope that her term will bring the important agenda of workers rights and the construction industry to the forefront of NationStates politics in order to ensure that certain nameless oppressed children get a better deal than the two cheese crackers a week under the current arrangement.
We offer our best wishes to former Delegate Ramaeus Montresor and the Fox Guy, pardon, Vizier Todd McCloud and thank them for doing their best to ensure the continuity and stability of the East Pacific in what has been a very difficult period for the Region during recent months.

That’s right we can’t be rid of that easily! We are alive and well here at The New Galactic Empire and back onto the international front! We apologize for the lack of updates over the past month but that has been due to unforeseen staffing issues. Rest assured that we will issue foreign updates on a more regular basis.
THE PURGE OF THE SITH
Emperor purges High Government, much crying ensues
The Imperial Holonet was awash with discussion earlier this year as the Emperor (a truly divine being, we are obligated to say) dissolved the High Government, a group of people who held roles that people weren’t sure about (even themselves). The Emperor decided that these people, Vaculatestar (the Praetor) and Darth Tenebris (Vizier) were doing too much and found that it went against the ethos of the Galactic Empire where no one does anything but his long suffering best friend (now wife), an old man (called Raven) locked in the Palace who handles “administration” and the local milkman from Naboo who got lost on a business trip a few years ago.
So he has now sacked them and decided to let the Senate do something besides throw scrunched up paperballs at each other.
No, he didn’t give them rocks. He’s announced that they will soon be able to elect the Leader of the Executive, a newly created Prime Ministerial, Grand Moff. On a stickkkkh.
Two of the candidates, Vaculatestar and Raslex have engaged in a friendly debate with Emperor Darth Radix moderating them. Warning, this link may not be suitable for work, and does contain a few questionable words. Vaculatestar eventually took the win in a riveting election with a one vote win.

OH NO, SHE MARRIED -HIM-!
Long suffering best friend takes on new role for less pay.
In a rather quirky royal wedding, Aayla, Duchess of Alderaan married The Emperor Darth Radix II, giving credibility to the rumours that have plagued the couple for years. The ceremony was simple and small, being held in the Imperial Chapel Royal. The only noticeable hiccup was the archbishop having small problem translating English into High Galactic, misspelling the brides names throughout the ceremony. The language barrier caused muffled laughter amongst the royal family, while cultural officials managing the event looked murderous. Rumour has it the translator was taken by officials from Imperial Intelligence to escort him to his award for his services, and hasn’t been seen since. There was a Reception held in the crystal ceilinged ballroom of the Imperial Palace at which foreign dignitaries, royals, and government officials all proceeded to cause one million Imperial Credits worth of damage. The additional damage to the Palace left Imperial Treasury officials nearly dead with shock when they were finally given the final sum total for the wedding. The astronomical total was _____ (This has been removed by the Imperial Committee for Cultural Events)____ and came mostly from the welfare budget.

THE GRAND MOFF COMES!
Meet the new boss, similar but with shorter hair than the old boss!
In a rather brutal election which saw citizens of the Empire being divided like legs at an orgy, Vaculatestar emerged victorious as the first Grand Moff of the New Galactic Empire after a very closely contested election when even the dead were being promoted to get up and vote.
Moff of Imperial Affairs Raslex and Prince Vaculatestar of Tython were the only two candidates in the race which saw speculation that Chancellor Romic and Sir Joshua Ravenclaw of the Red Guard would also throw their hats into the ring for the first election of its kind in recent memory. The reporter who asked Sir Joshua for his views on the election got a very icy reply and questions about his ability to function in normal society (referring to an intense disagreement he had with Raslex in the Grand Plaza over something relating to the Debate). When asked if he knew whether Raslex had left the hospital wing yet, the Red Guard simply smirked and said that he had but needed use of a cane to walk and that it took surgery to remove his head from the orifice where it had been lodged.
The term for the Grand Moff, shall be four months, with elections being held in February, June and October.

Vac Starts Cleaning up the Government After a Brief Break from NS
Grand Moff Vaculatestar who had to take a break from NationStates due to real life (though never did resign) is back and he’s cleaning things up and kicking things back off. He took the spot of Moff of Foreign Affairs which was left vacant by the resignation of Lord Ravenclaw, and named Darth Tenebris to be his Deputy Grand Moff, yet another spot left vacant by Raven’s resignation. Vac is currently working to reform the department into something manageable.
Vaculatestar has also begun talks with Equilism where the age old treaty between the two old regions is being reviewed.

An apology to the New Galactic Republic and the Kingdom of Albion
Recently appointed Moff of Foreign Affairs Joshua Ravenclaw, complete with a pair of yellow marigolds on an Imperial excursion to the New Galactic Republic and their Consulate in Albion
The New Galactic Empire would like to apologise for failing to properly investigate the leadership and situation regarding the state of the New Galactic Republic before we deployed the Imperial Navy to the region.
We understand in this situation, following discussions between relevant officials that not enough research was done on the region’s leadership which would have highlighted the regions status as a close ally and protectorate of Albion. Had we known such information before hand, we would not have continued with the mission.
The offending diplomat has been shot docked a months pay.

“It is time to start afresh” declared the Emperor, and with those words everyone was poor. The money had been confiscated from the super-rich elite and distributed into a new social welfare program called “Raven’s Trust”. The Chairman of the Trust, a mysterious fellow called “Dorl Walcnevzar” has not been since since the declaration was signed.

TATOOINE AND TNGE
Osiris and the New Galactic Empire sign a treaty, TNGE poised to take control of new system!
In the culmination of over a year of close relations, cooperation and friendship the governments of both regions have recently taken the step of formalising that friendship with a Treaty. Original attempts, which started in June 2013 were stymied by the Coup by The Dourian Embassy and following that TNGE decided to wait until Osiris was in a more stable condition before formalising their relations.
Pharaoh Cormac Somerset signed the Treaty into Osiran Law on September 21st 2014 following the signing of the Treaty by His Imperial Majesty, Darth Radix II on the 20th.
In the background, regular irritant, Lord Ravenclaw could be seen muttering about the choice of name and was last seen being dragged away unconscious by His Majesty’s Imperial Guard for a briefing.
Election Season
That’s right we have entered into another election season! This time we are electing our Chancellor, the head of the Imperial Senate. Currently we have Incumbent Chancellor Rector_Ras and Moff of Culture Darth Typhoas. Without a clear picture of who will take the lead we’ll keep you posted!
Surprise Resignation!
On December 27th, in a move that shocked the entire Empire, Grey Army resigned as Supreme Judge. An office of which he held for several years. It is now up to the Emperor and his top advisers to decide upon a new Supreme Judge. Current Associate Justice, Darth Typhoas is most certainly a choice but with the election looming who knows? We’ll keep you posted!
