Imperial Senate

This month in the Imperial Senate after some heavy debate and a compromise was reached the Empire’s first criminal code which was co-authored by Emperor Darth Radix II, Imperial Knight Darth Xilross, and Praetor Vaculatestar was passed. It is part of an attempt at reforming the court system with more reforms expected on the way in terms of actual court policies and rules. There is also being voted on a new version of the Mentorship Act which was written by Praetor Vaculatestar. IT is hoped that this will help lay out better the duties of a mentor in an attempt at reforming the mentor program in TNGE. There is also up for vote The Chancellor Prerequisite Act which if passes will put restrictions on who can run for office by putting in a limit on how long you have to have had citizenship in the Empire. Emperor Darth Radix II has also issued an Imperial Decree creating several senate committees which cover a wide range of issues and are meant to draw focus to specific areas of the Empire.

The Return of a Friend:

Recently former Emperor Darth Revan II now known as Darth Vader made a decision to leave the Empire due to misunderstandings and poor communication. However, efforts were made by all sides and much of this has been resolved. This has led him to the Empire which has brought great joy to all.

Culture:

This month the culture department under the direction of Moff of Culture Marik Winters has been spurring up RMB activity with weekly discussion topics. This appears to be working with RMB activity higher than it has been in recent history. The Culture Department also is working on reviving some old RP’s such as the government deception RP which is the oldest and generally the biggest favorite of all of the RP’s in the Empire though has seen little to no activity recently. Imperial Knight Darth Xilross has also been tasked with revitalizing the Imperial Acadamy in hopes of having a working education system in the Empire. Praetor Vaculatestar has begun work on revitalizing the regional news service the Holonet. He has introduced legislation and is currently trying to find a way to be able to publish it.

Divorce in the Empire:

Late into the month former Empress Dowager Aayla Fel filed for divorce from her then husband and also a former Emperor Darth Vader (formerly known as Darth Revan II). It is indeed a sad day in the Empire to see these two decide to part ways though perhaps in all of the sadness there is a silver lining as this has brought to light the need for a law on Divorce and Marriage which is now being worked on. Aayla has taken on the title of Her Imperial Highness (HIH) and has retained her Noble Title as Duchess of Alderaan.

Election Time:

Late this month, the Empire had an election for Chancellor, the only elected office in the region, between incumbent Darth Treachorous and Forum Administrator Raven. In a close election Raven was able to pull out an 8-4 victory over the incumbent. Raven has said that his first actions as Chancellor are going to be to take an account of the laws that we have and see what needs to be done. He also plans to increase the amount of democracy in the Empire in an attempt to push the Empire forwards into a new Golden Age.

Upcoming Award Ceremony:

The Government of the Empire is preparing for its bi-annual awards ceremony which will be held next month. Notable events to happen at it are there is going to be another inductee to the Hall of Fame and the Royal Family will be making an announcement in regards to an addition to it. Invitations and further details will be released as we get close to it.

Restructure of the High Government:
Emperor Darth Radix II recently restructured the High Government stating that the previous system of High Government members being able to choose their own title’s upon appointment to be “to chaotic”. He has decided that the second in command/heir’s title will be Executor and that the third in command’s shall have the choice of either being Praetor or Vizier.

The Executor Resigns!
Recently Executor and Heir Apparent Master Xilross resigned his position citing real life restricting his ability to perform his duties in the high government. He is going to stick around and serve in both the Imperial Navy and participate in our regions many role plays, he has already taken part in assisting starting up another round of one of the regions more popular role plays, Batman Nolanverse. The Emperor has yet to name another heir though currently Praetor Vaculatestar the current third in command of the Empire (and the only other member of the current line of succession) is hopeful to be named heir.

The Imperial Navy:
The Imperial Navy is continuing to recruit and is going to be out on maneuvers after its first class of officers under the new system of training and structure graduates. Moff of War Darth Tenebris is currently looking for a replacement as it is apparent that he is going to be named to the High Government soon with the resignation of the Executor, he will be taking the other third in command title of “Vizier”.

The Imperial Diplomatic Corp:
The Empire recently received United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Jacob M. Stewart in a Head of Government visit to talk about a possible treaty. It is the hope that a treaty can be established that can cement the two regions long and storied friendship that goes all the way back to when The Empire was defender( so yes a VERY long time ago. ). The Empire has also received The Kingdom of Great Britain’s Prime Minister Amber to discuss tweaking the current treaty between the two regions. The Empire also has begun talking to Balder about establishing a treaty between the two region.

Role Playing:
Recently a new round of the Empire’s longest running and most popular roleplay Government Deception has started up. This round starts after the Galactic Civil War ends but with a twist. The Empire won the Battle of Endor and defeated the Rebellion. The Empire then quickly completed Imperialization just in time to fight back the Vong Invasion. Now there is an organized rebellion on Mon Calimari (Dac) with the support of Kashyyk and Sullust with Umbara currently being contested. So far the Galactic Alliance has been able to gain control of the capitol city and has heavily entrenched itself. The Empire is not giving up, they have deployed Death Squadron and are landing reinforcements and are preparing to take the city. The Galactic Alliance is ready for them though with reinforcements on the way and all sorts of fun surprises ready and waiting it will be interesting to see who will come out on top.
Here is the trigger for those that are interested:

**[spoiler]After the defeat of the Rebellion at the Battle of Endor, the galaxy quickly fell in line. Without any opposition, the Empire quickly completed the long awaited task of Imperialization, just in time to force back the Vong before they could enter the Galaxy. Around 120 ABY, the Empire began to hear rumours of an organized resistance in the Outer Rim. The Empire believed it was nothing more than talk, all investigations revealed no evidence. That was until the uprisings on Sullust and Kashyyyk, with the rebels using highly organized military tactics unlike anything that the Empire had seen in over a hundred years. As unrest continued throughout the galaxy, it was eventually confirmed from a dead spy on Corellia, that the Alliance had survived in secret since the battle…and they had launched their plan to retake the galaxy in the name of democracy.

The date is 150 ABY, many lives have already been lost in the struggles between the Empire and the Rebellion with many forced to take sides, civil wars and uprisings in the Outer and Mid Rims have caused the Imperial Navy to be spread throughout the galaxy in an effort to contain the situation. Using the moment of weakness. The leader of the Rebellion have publicly announced the first dominion and capital of the Galactic Alliance of Free Planets on the fortress world of Mon Calamari. They promise it will be the model world for all future Alliance led worlds. With the Imperials spread thin and the Alliance’s attempts to beat the Imperials back, neither are able to launch a full scale attack on the other. Now the galaxy reacts to the relevation of the announcement of the first system under the banner of the Alliance.[/spoiler]

TNGE at the World Fair:
This year the Empire went to the World Fair, with a wide array of threads and games to participate in at our booth there we have certainly had a strong showing with Praetor Vaculatestar at the head of the delegation. He is also attending the COPS II conventions on behalf of TNGE which the Empire plans on ratifying as soon as it is written.

Founders Month

Every year in March, the Empire celebrates Founders Month Organized the Moff of Culture. Preator Vaculatestar has begun an RP in which players play as original founding members of the Empire and give their own version of how the Empire came to be. Other activities include threads on member’s favourite memories and regional polls. Founders month will end with a ball hosted in the Imperial Palace hosted by the Emperor. Everyone in the Empire is invited to attend as well as all ambassadors deployed in the New Galactic Empire.


Surge in Recruitment

The Empire has recently implemented the Telegram Stamp Project set up by the Moff of Imperial Affairs Vaculatestar. This new system has shown it’s worth with the surge of nations bringing the Empire from it’s former sixty two, all the way up to 127. This spike in population is greatly in thanks to all Imperial citizens who have donated to the Project. The rise of population has also saw an increase in the amount of new sign ups on the regional forum, in the government, and roleplays.


Foreign Department Shake Up

After the resignation of the previous Moff of Foreign Affairs, a reorganization of the department and how it is run has been undertaken by the new Moff. This includes scrapping the old ranks of the department, how ambassadors report their information, and streamlining the Department in general. The new system will be fully in place during mid to late March. At which every assignment should be filled.


Small Region Declares War on The New Galactic Empire

A micro region called the PREK Union has declared war on the Empire in a message sent to the Moff of Foreign Affairs. The Imperial Navy is confident that no enemy forces from the Union will ever reach the Empire, and most found humour in the little region’s boastful claims. The Government has responded in kind, thanking the region for the notice and that they hope to hear from PREK soon.
