Estavokia is a young nation that was founded after the 8 regional tribes were united in a bloody civil war, referred to with an unglamorous title the “Unification War”. Which is a direct result of the countries previous dictator being removed from power in an uprising by Estavokian citizens. The power vacuum from this ended with 300,000 to 500,000 Estavokian’s dead, the real numbers are not known and a closely guarded secret of the new regime. Estvokian’s however are use to this kinds of things as in the past new dictators have come and gone, added with an unusually high amount of conflicts and civil wars.
Despite all its bloodshed Estavokia’s are a strong and diverse people with a culture centered around one’s family and tribal heritage. A new trend is putting one’s country before the tribe and stems from the new parties propaganda and a focus on civil liberties with free speech and expression held high.
Though most day to day activities are left unaffected by the party a few tribes movements are restricted by the government. These tribes are labeled as aggressive and slow to accepting the new regime, and therefore they are issued a passport for inside their country so that their movements can be tracked or denied. There are rumors spreading through some branches of the military/governing bodies that the party leader himself addressed top party officials about doing away with these “We must abandon these draconian practices of oppression and sectarianism, that only seek to divide us as a blossoming nation.”. This isn’t a huge surprise to the ears of Estavokian’s as the young regime has been known to “zig” when it seemed the previous party stance was to “zag”.
Estavokia herself is a harsh loving mistress, her lands desolate and barren ranging from high mountains to vast deserts. Rolling dunes that make entire deserts shift in the night, to the sun bleached sands of the scorching afternoon days. Large snow capped peaks leak their life blood down into the unforgiving lands. Looming over everything below as to remind them just how insignificant and futile they are in the scale of things. All of her stunning beauty is only matched by her people’s resilience and tenacity for overcoming what their cruel mistress throws at them.
The country is lead by the charismatic Premier Michael Von Wolfhearth known as “The Wolf With A Thousand Teeth” after the bloody struggle to unite Estavokia and her people’s. Though no successor or Vice-Premier has been publicly announced by the party it is widely speculated that this position is filled by the Premiers wife Avery Von Faircloth, referred to by the people lovely as “The Wolf Mother”. As where the premier focusing on the main stays of leading the country he leaves more civil issues to the decision of his wife. He was quoted as saying “Nobody but a parent, mother and true Estavokian born citizen can truly understand just what is required and needed to raise a happy healthy family in these trying modern times.” many believe this has caused the surge in civil liberties an a turn towards a more just and sound state.
