The Puntalian Takeover

“I would like to suggest to add in 3.1.11 UWI as I have seen signs of vary dangerous rhetoric towards my friend Stemmler and his nation Osterlisch” Rolex says as he nods towards Stemmler “Hanlon displayed very blatant hate towards leftist people and as a fellow leftist I believe Osterlisch and the UWI will be protected also by this treaty”

As Olav tried to listen to Jariano’s speech the sound of a notification on his phone could be heard. With quickly looking at his phone he saw that he was added in a group chat with the other UCA leaders and saw Alexander of Alksearia’s views of the treat. While he understood where the man is coming from, he also felt it was not as complicated as he thought.
As Jariano’s speech ended Olav gave him a smile. “Quite well-spoken friend” Olav said, his voice showing some happiness behind the statement, since maybe the first time since the conference started.
Olav also however noticed a note he has gotten, from of which he would guess is from the Osterlisch delegation. With a sigh he turned his head towards where the observers are and nodded toward Ronald.
As Olav listened to the new amendment he started to frown when he heard the reparations be turned down massively. Though was at least glad that the military presence in New Puntalia has increased at least that makes it impossible to take it over a day. Though he new that despite their best effort peace won’t last forever between the two new states, knowing full well that splitting a people like this will be impossible work well in the long run. As he stood up, he took the stand once again too speak.
“While I still have my issues with this compromise and think that the reparations of Rufuina is still quite small, I am willing to accept it, IF from now on every year we meet up to discuss the unification of the two Puntalian states. As much as I understand this is a compromise, we still have too in the future work for a united Puntalia. While I am disappointed that nations like Osterlisch is not included in the protection. Knowing full well that the rivalry between Rufuina and Osterlisch may bring Acturia in war once more, however I am not willing to ruin this compromise for it either. Though I also want too until more UCA members input on this” Olav said, only finally sitting down after that.

Adley nodded to Olav and spoke: “If we are to split this nation and it’s people in two, a annual meeting to discuss the unity of the two states would be much appreciated. I would put forward to enact reunification if, and only if, there is popular support among both states, in a fair refurendum conducted by the PCC.”

The East Cerdan delegation chatted amongst themselves as the debate raged on about the Puntalia situation. They’d been largely quiet for the whole debacle, sitting a row back from the front and mostly watching, observing and chatting amongst themselves quietly as the various leaders and dignitaries argued it out.

But as the DRO delegation departed, leaving Ronald Stemmler sitting there alone in the observer panel the East Cerdan delegation shuffled up quietly to sit in the vacant seats next to him. The delegates closest to him nodding politely as they sat down next to Stemmler and bunched in closer together in a clear sign of solidarity with Osterlisch and it’s leader Ronald Stemmler.

Stemmler, observing on behalf of the UWI remains in place, nodding to the various positive mentions his nation receives, knowing that the future of the Arcturian belt hinged on the remainder of the talks.

Ronald, while trying to maintain his icy composure, glances over his shoulder and offers a nod of thanks. Stemmler knew where his allies stood. Inviting the Cerdani delegation a little closer, he makes some small talk, “How goes things in your homeland, Genosse?” He speaks, refusing to take his eyes away staring out from Barvata.

“Unfortunately this is not something that concerns the defence of the Urthian Workers Internationale at this time,” Arngrimur stated. “But something that we should review after this conference; definitely,” he paused. “Unfortunately this summit is to compromise on Puntalia and the UCA, of which Lokania is a member state and Osterlicsh is not,” his expression was neutral, before moving his eyes up to the Osterlicsh and East Cerdan dignitaries. “The enemy of my enemy… Is my friend.” and with that began his smile at Stemmler, to which the others in the conference did not manage to see, and panned around the conference room before staring back at Barvata. Arngrimur took his seat and scratched his head.

“I believe if the annual reunification meeting can be added into the treaty, it should be ready to sign, should nobody else have any adjustments or objections.” Adley said calmly, hoping to call this meeting to an end before another fight broke out.

“I believe an annual host of reunification would be very wise to do and I respect those who proposed such.”
Hanlon said with a firm nod gesturing to those who proposed or whom agreed with the said idea.
“However…” Hanlon briefly said before elaborating further…
“I feel that Puntalia should have certain links to Rufuina under all circumstances, I feel that having a close economic and political ties to Puntalia will be the best to strengthen capitalism and free economics to prevent the spread of communism in Arcturia.”

Barvata looked to Hanlon and Adley.

“Thank you for the considered ideas, but if the members of this summit agree, this clause proposal should be considered as apart of a separate treaty or resolution with the same signatory states. I therefore motion the dignitaries of the conference to ratify the treaty so we may bring it into law.” he moved from his lectern to a desk where the official treaty lied, a pen stood up in a pot nearby and waited for dignitaries to walk down to put their signatures to the paper.

Olav gives out a sigh as he looks at Barvata.

“Fine, I’ll sign the current one, however this will not be the last you will hear from me about this issue…” Olav said as he signs his signature at the treaty. Knowing full well that this is just a start of a possible solution for peace in South Acturia.

“Agreed, let’s sign this.”
Hanlon would say walking over going to take a pen out moving on over to sign the treaty with his own pen, and printing his signature on the paper itself.

Both Garcia and de la Cruz walk up to sign the paper. The two still had a fight to fight after this meeting, but that would have to take place later when they were both back in Puntalia.

Sarohart walked over to Barvata and shook his hand.

“I’m pleased that you have managed to get both sides to compromise in this treaty,” she smiled before moving over to the treaty and taking several long seconds to sign in the signatory area.

Adley nods to Olav. “We shall have to discuss the Reunification Meeting Treaty at a later date.” He walked up and signed the treaty, knowing that while it was not ideal, this would have to do for now.

Arngrimur knew there was still things that needed to be discussed, but the main compromise had been made. Signing the paper after Adley, the Lokanian moved over and began talking to other leaders.

Jariano II left his seat and went to sign the treaty: “it was not going to be perfect, but I guess this is the nearest option we have to an agreement. South Peragen signs, thank you, Mr. Barvata.”

Póra Mazhéin crosses looks with Jariano as she proceeds to sign: “Congratulations for your speech, Jariano, simply brilliant.” Jariano smiled at her, and then she signed the treaty in the name of the Cooperative Commonwealth.

While the other signatories begun to standup and sign the treaty, Rolex was still thinking hard. He knew this will probably end up in disaster, one way or the other. But as a relatively powerless leader, what can he do?

He shakes his head before standing up and walking up to the treaty. He looks at Bravata and Hanlon quickly before signing the paper.

Eoforwine sighed. It wasn’t really the outcome he wanted, but at least it was a peaceful outcome.

He signed the treaty.

Ilse Erika stands up to address the room as a whole. “In my opinion this entire conference just served to increase the power projection of current powers and help a warmonger get away without any repercussions. Nevertheless, I will sign this treaty, just know that today was a defeat for the free forces of the world.”

Ilse signs the treaty, and exits the room.

Charlotte merely smiled as she and her Aunty signed the treaty ratifying it into international law, her smile was covered with evil, distaste, and death. What she saw of this is that anything is possible in this world, who to stop such powers if not them, who could stop her if she so chooses to finish him as he heads to his room tonight. Many things raced through her mind at that exact moment but many would never know, mysterious of this world’s greatest assassin would lay dormant for just a little longer.

Of course, as she exited out of the room she would look in the area of Mr.Hanlon saying just a few words, “To protect civilians, the state needs sometimes to do things that are contrary to democratic behavior. It is true that in units like ours the outer limits can become blurred. That’s why you must be sure that your people are of the best quality. The dirtiest actions should be carried out by the most honest men.” With that, she would exit out of the building with Naomi following suite, down the stairs, and out the buildings, you could see curtains close as the Nassad agents disappeared from the scene, several were even disguised as reporters for MBC and KNN.

Nassad was everywhere…
