'We should investigate. Like secret agents!" She held up her hand, miming the shape of a pistol.
“I’m in” Alexi Replied, getting up and brushing some sand off of his shorts.[edit_reason]Grammar pls[/edit_reason]
“Ok, lets go then!” Velhanz got up and put on his back pack, walking back to the dorms.
“Yess! Just like Bames Jond!” She hopped up, Athena hugging her shoulder for purchase, and trotted back to the dorms. The truth was out there!
Velhanz opened the door to the dorms and waited for Alexi and Lily to get inside before closing the door.
Once inside, Lily bounded up the stairs giggling, stealthily pulling open the door to the fifth floor and motioning for Vel and Alexi to move through.
I moved in, looking around the hallway before giving the all clear.
Admiring the Strataric flintlock and all its intricacies, Melor could have sworn he heard a very faint giggle. He perked up, curious, but relaxed again after a few seconds of stillness.
It’s just your imagination, he thought to himself.
After placing the relic of a weapon carefully back in its place, he picked up his framed photograph and sat down on his bed, gazing at it with a sort of sad remembrance. Returning the photo to where it had been after a moment, Melor rose and started pacing back and forth in his room and reciting riddles quietly to himself.
“I don’t see any- Oh wait. This is new.” Lily whispered. Athena padded silently behind her, and licked at the Strataranian flag that was now pinned to the board by one of the previously unoccupied doors. “Should we knock?”
“Shall we?” Velhanz knocked on the door and said in the most womanly voice he could do, “Housekeeping!”
After waiting a bit, he knocked on the door again and said the same thing.
Melor stiffened. That clearly wasn’t a woman’s voice. It was a stupid prank, most likely. Or maybe it was a woman, but with an unfortunate vocal problem. Either way, his response was the same.
“I’ve not been here one half-day!” he replied with a slight Strataric accent, yelling slightly to be heard through the door. “Your dutifulness is appreciated, but I do not need housekeeping!”
“That so? Come on out, then, so you might make a friend or two!” Lily called, dropping the act. Athena pawed at the door.
Velhanz cracked up a bit, backing away from the door.
Melor was silent for a moment, weighing his options. After a moment, he let out a short bark of laughter.
“Why do you think I need a friend?” he asked.
Jey sat around the bonfire enjoying the night air, looking upon the stars in the firmament, and continued to chat up the people around him.
As the evening deepened, and the bottle continued to be passed, Jey was relaxed enough to humorously flirt outrageously to those around him.
“You… um… You never know if you do until you try!” Lily called. On-the-spot wisdom was not one of her strong suits.
There was a moment’s silence. “I have tried before,” Melor murmured softly to himself. Addressing the crowd outside again, his voice returned to it’s original tone. “Your friendliness is appreciated, and I thank you for it, but it is unneeded. Have a good evening.” The last sentence was meant as a farewell.
“We have food, and a sleepy fluffy mammal you can pet who probably won’t bite you…” Athena let out a huge yawn and licked her paw. “Yea the mammal will most certainly not bite you. Openn upppp!”
Melor did the simplest thing he could: he didn’t respond.
Velhanz couldn’t handle it anymore and stood up smiling. He let out a snicker and started laughing at the exchange of words between the two.
