Application to the Auroran Court of Justice
Complainant: Freedom International (represented by Senior Counsel, Itahana o te Kuanoku)
Respondent: Government of the Oan Isles

To the Master of the Court

On behalf of Freedom International, I herewith bring before the august court, a charge against the Government of the Oan Isles, of violating the Charter of the United Nations of the Auroran Continent by ratifying a treaty with the Government of Packilvania, on behalf of the Oan Isles, that permits the extradition of its citizens who are by extension citizens of the UNAC and are thereby protected by the Charter.

There is no guarantee that citizens of the UNAC extradited to Packilvania will have their sapient rights upheld because the following practices are permitted:

  1. The death penalty
  2. Trial in absentia
  3. Torture in interrogation
  4. Cruel and unusual punishment including forced servitude
  5. Detention without charge

Furthermore, many basic tenets of Auroran law are not protected in Packilvania which easily places our citizens at risk whenever they are at the mercy of its laws:

  1. Free speech
  2. Freedom of movement
  3. Right to life and safety from bodily and psychological harm
  4. Right to associate freely

There are shortcomings in their legal system that expose our citizens to vulnerabilities:

  1. Bureaucratic inefficiencies, financial constraints and short-staffing increase the time it takes for cases to be resolved.
  2. Corrupt public officials
  3. Social hatred against protected groups

We hereby request the court order the Government of the Oan Isles to do the following:

  1. That it rescind the extradition treaty with the Sultanate of Packilvania
  2. That it works towards the repatriation of its citizens who have been sent to Packilvania under the terms of the treaty.

With respect
Itahana o te Kuanoku
On behalf of Freedom International
