Historical Summary: For millennia that is now Urmasar was comprised of many nomadic tribes. While they remained independent they shared much culture, traditions and linguistic roots. There has always been some level of trade between the eight main tribes. Whenever they traded they created a sort pidgin to be able to communicate with each other but their languages still remained relatively mutual intelligible (Urmasarin, Korven, Sarvik, and other regional dialects).

In the 19th century, pressure from expanding neighbours caused significant portion of many tribes to build permanent settlements while maintaining their traditional lifestyle. With more settlement, trade naturally opened up more. However, rivalries persisted. Urmasar (the biggest tribe) opened up negotiations first. The agreed with the Sarvikens mutual protection and easy trade while keeping autonomy. In the following twelve years the other tribes joined under the promise of mutual defense and easy trade. The officially became a confederation in 1919. This happened when the Khans of the eight clans met and signed the pact of Urmasar.

To keep autonomy they formed the council which consisted of the eight khans and their advisors. They also have a mostly ceremonial High Khan which is chosen by the council from the families of the eight khans to serve a 10 year term.

Nowadays the Confederation is a developing nation which a mixture of modern cities and large nomadic populations. Around 35% of the population still partake in such lifestyles.

Map Claim: I am not sure how to provide a preliminary map. If someone could tell me how to draw the region that would be great. However, I am happy with any northern taiga / subarctic. Preferably inland but don’t mind.
