A social media reel by Laura Les, representing the Tawusian Cape at Urthvision XXII

Cyfarrchio folks! If you don’t know me, I am Laura Les of 100 Gecs, and I am THRILLED to be representing Tawuse - i uh mean the Tawusian Cape again at Urthvision XXII. I bet you’re wondering why everything has changed in my weird little country since we last hosted!

TLDR: Tawuse is dead.

Or at least, it has restructured! The Unified Republic of Tawuse voted in 2024 to federalise, specifically so that its regions could have better autonomy. Tawusians within now-state of Tawuse (a carcass with all the goodies carved away) also voted in favour as they didn’t want their taxes funding the slightly crazy island of Paradis. So now… we are three nations in perfect harmony! The Federation of The Tawusian Cape!

Back when the “Federal Treaty” (trademark reserved) was signed, our federal government wanted to ensure that all three nations got what they wanted. The Paradisians, or Paradyswythians as they call themselves (a mouthful), snuck a clause into the treaty… That the Prismatic Triumvirate of Paradyswyth would host the first Urthvision that we run as a federation. The government didn’t think we’d win again because they kept sending me, but last time they sent that really cool lesbian with swords and the world seemed to like it… Anyway, now the rock people are hosting it.

Here’s where it gets weird… Paradyswyth is virtually run by three old women that worship light and gemstones, and the whole island does too. This is the religion known as “Matriarchal Prismaticism”, which is an offshoot of the Prismaticism we have here in the rest of the Cape. What’s weird is that the three old women that run it are treated like gods and mostly ignore external politics. So yeah they have run the entire island since the Tawusian colonial military withdrew. Now they have renamed everything after dead matriarchs. Additionally, they get complete creative control over the set design and marketing so watch out for some hyper-religious stuff. If you are coming here to see the contest in person, just make sure you don’t step on someone’s shadow or they will get very mad at you. If you see someone with a prism around their neck, leave them be.

Good luck everyone! May you all be guided by “The Prism”?.. what is this cr-

Intense orchestral fanfare blares from all corners of the arena. CLICK HERE!

“Blessed evening, Urth! May the matriarchal radiances’ blessings shine upon you all.”

A young lupine steps into the spotlight, her fur reflecting the light. Her monochromatic white robe is long, and reaches her shins. She’s barefoot, with jangling anklets. Around her neck is a large peridot in the rough shape of a triangle engraved with what seems to be rays of light, the necklace forged from platinum shining in the spotlight. Beside her, two other figures enter the stage; a human and a cava.

The human is tall and slender, with fiery red hair in a suit snow-white. His entire outfit, with the exception of his tie, were white and have clearly never been worn in a scenario that wasn’t clinically orchestrated. His tie, like the lupine, was a distinct peridot green, embroidered with platinum rays of light. He seems a bit uncomfortable, it seems that the outfit he is wearing is sort of forced. His voice, however, bellows throughout the arena in a thick Gratultan accent.

“Boreserra [Good evening] Urth! Welcome to Tenerre! The Tawusian Cape welcomes our urthvision friends back to our beautiful nation. We may have switched things up recently, but our love of the arts remains.”

The camera pans to backstage, participants and their respective teams wave little miniature flags of their homelands. However, a comically large flag of Paradyswyth digitally waves behind them on a very large and very expensive looking screen before cutting back to the ginger.

“Those who aren’t aware, I’m Geraint and I am one of your esteemed hosts this evening. Besides me are my lovely colleagues; Mica and…” He gestures to Mica, the cava host, with confusion. He seems to have forgotten the lupine’s name.

“Ahem!” Mica coughs, “Joining us in presenting this evening’s ceremony with sanctified gravity and radiant poise: Her Serene Radiant Illuminary, First-Speaker of the Seventh Refraction, Canon-Warden of the Southern Prism Choir, Most Venerable Highmother of Lustral Revelation, Ordained Shepherdess of the Triarchal Light, The Right Miraculous Opaline Vice-Matriarch Sibyl Wynaveth Elowen-dyr of the Luminous Fold, D.D.L." [a priestess]

Her Serene Radiant Illuminary, First-Speaker of the Seventh Refraction, Canon-Warden of the Southern Prism Choir, Most Venerable Highmother of Lustral Revelation, Ordained Shepherdess of the Triarchal Light, The Right Miraculous Opaline Vice-Matriarch Sibyl Wynaveth Elowen-dyr of the Luminous Fold, D.D.L. steps forward.

“Thank you Mica, yes, I am her Serene Radiant Illuminary, First-Speaker of the Seventh Refraction, Canon-Warden of the Southern Prism Choir, Most Venerable Highmother of Lustral Revelation, Ordained Shepherdess of the Triarchal Light, The Right Miraculous Opaline Vice-Matriarch Sibyl Wynaveth Elowen-dyr of the Luminous Fold, D.D.L…” Crickets chirp in the audience…

“I am here to introduce an important guest." HSRIFSOTSRCWOTSPCMVHOLROSOTTLTRMOVMSWEDOTLF,D.D.L’s bangles start jangling towards the sky at what seems to be a VIP box that is giving the illusion of hovering.

“Esteemed guests, please welcome Her Transcendent Chromal Eminence, Sovereign Flame of the Ninth Refraction, Living Vessel of the Prismatic Concord, Matriarch-Ascendant of the Isle Eternal, Keeper of the Harmonic Edicts, High Oracle of Luminous Judgement, Celestial Regent of Paradyswyth, and Warden of the Sacred Glass Throne, Triarch Immanuelle Syraeth-Velorra, Daughter of the Dawn-Tide Convergence, Flame-Bearer of the First Light, Divinely Invested by the Rite of Infinite Facets, The Undimmed, The Iridescent, The She-Who-Speaks-in-Chords.” [one of the gemstone lesbian queens]

The audience rejoices. Onlookers hysterically cheer as an old lupine woman in a creased and stained white robe, barely strong enough to stop flying around in the breeze, gets lowered into the sky-box with strings. She barely makes it as she flails around and her guard tries to catch her. “Enjoy the show!” she shouts as she waves her weirdly long fingers at the audience, which again loses all sanity and rejoices at the holy display they had just witnessed. HSRIFSOTSRCWOTSPCMVHOLROSOTTLTRMOVMSWEDOTLF,D.D.L smiles contentedly.

Mica just stands there bewildered. She doesn’t know what just happened. Her white garden dress with a peridot bow flutters in the breeze let in by the open-roof arena. “Let’s get to introducing the contestants”.

Please keep an eye on this thread, more to come.

5th of April 2025.

Mica extends her arms to the audience “Before we start, a wonderful rendition of Rappell Choan’s ‘Good luck babe!’ in Tawusian! We hope you enjoy.”

The narration of the following acts is by the approved national broadcaster. (Descriptions have been altered insignificantly to fit the broadcasting standards of the triumvirate.)

“To start off this evening, last year’s victors, The Tawusian Cape!” Turning to the camera,

“This year, 100 gecs are once again representing the cape. Believe it or not, Laura Les is not allowed to leave the country. Therefore, the nation’s favourite artist can only represent the Tawusian Cape whenever they host the contest. The song ‘Hollywood Baby’ represents a mythical land named ‘Hollywood’. The song is about the singer’s friend, who under the influence of a certain substance, left Les for the middle of the woods to search for the mythical land of Hollywood. As a consequence “You will never make it in Hollywood, baby” is a homage to the frigid temperatures that the Tawusian wilderness gets to at night. Her friend has surely frozen to death.”

“Up next, Korćetta! Representing Korćetta are The Pilots. They’re a popular Korćettan band, well known for their modern sound that is mixed with their use of classical instruments. Very on theme for Urthvision. They have gained popularity over the past two decades with their albums that do not sound the same. ‘If I Cross the Line’ is a song about going beyond the point of no return. It talks about asking a lover if they would still love the singer if they crossed this line. It is said that the song has struck the hearts of many people across Korćetta. The delegation hopes that it will touch our hearts as well. Very sweet.”

“With their Urthvision debut, we have Limbo! They’ve sent Light Entertainment’s most awarded girl group, SLN, to represent their nation. Formed by their company after winning the Next Star competition, SLN (read as Selene) will surely reflect the beauty of Olune right here on Urth! They’ll represent their nation with the song ‘Pump It Up’, an uptempo electropop about the pursuit of a free and distinctive identity.”

“Paul McTavaris is an artist from Auravas known for his songs about critiquing governments of the world. His song “Digital Silence” talks about the far-right rulers of the world and how they are repressing the voice of the people and are attempting to get everyone to like them. Far-right citizens have critiqued this song in the Kaskada region. However, even with this backlash, the song has been chosen by Auravas to be presented to Urthvision. This song has been resonating with the youth of Kaskada, with a lot of them using it to promote their leftist ideals and talk about taking down the far-right.”

“It doesn’t get much more West Borean than this. From the moderately-jazzy piano chords to the thumping bass to the piercing synths to the fact this man is playing three instruments at once, this electro-pop banger from Dzhekgara is WBF to the core. We are assured that the technical difficulties from rehersal have been fixed - the only thing we aren’t assured of is the song’s name, which has changed multiple times throughout production of the show. It’s been “Something I Can’t Be Without”, “Home Tonight”, and it’s currently on my teleprompter as “Get By”. So come on, what’s it called today?”

“The next entry is a chant of hopefulness for all the oppressed peoples of Urth. Sahab Diyal Sahbi, which translates to “Friends of My Friend”, is a Shamsian band led by Shamsian human Amira, and their Urthvision song, ‘La Canción de la Perra’, has become an anthem of freedom in Wed Shams. It recalls the times when non-elven Shamsian minorities lacked any social rights, times which aren’t that far away: only about a decade ago, when, as the song narrates, dogs enjoyed more freedom than non-elven people (hence the song’s subtitle, “I Wanna Be a Dog”). Ever since, Wed Shams has enjoyed a cultural boom, mirrored in their three Urthvision participations, successful on the contest itself and on the international charts, with global artists like Lórien Talháwi, DJ Ifigr or Shakimpe.”

“Wed Shams is celebrating music and culture, and Sahab Diyal Sahbi want to keep the trend of success with their own country’s social successes. Please enjoy La Canción de la Perra By Sahab Diyal Sahbi, the Shamsian song for Urthvision XXII!!!”

“This edition, Kaldrbuth are sending Lee Amaliedatur. She’s a Kaldrbuthian artist that has recently gotten famous within the larger Ulvrikian world, with some of her songs having reached an audience within the Federation, believe it or not, despite the heavy censorship of it. With her most recent song, “We honor the Jingos”, being made in cooperation with a Valkyr animiation studio. The song according to Amaliedatur being made to celebrate and honor her country’s military. Though not explicity stating it, some critics claimed the song is a direct reference to the Mkænian War. The song is banned in East Atlalandr and the Federation, with the former labelling the song as fascistic. Meanwhile, the song has garnered an underground following in the Federation.”

“Returning to this edition, we have Sokala! BINIx2 (pronounced as Binibini) is an emerging So-pop (Sokalan Pop) girl group that quickly rose to prominence in Sokala after their hit song, 'Mirror,’ soared to the top of the charts. The group was formed in 2019 and since then have been named the ‘Group of the Year’ by Women’s Music Sokala as well as winning the Koalas’ Award of 2023. BINIx2 beat out Sokala’s former Urthvision representative, Mossa Maguro and Ben Squared, to get this year’s representative spot after a close vote from the nation.”

We have a long-time contestant, Peragen! After last year’s metal band, Peragen doesn’t want to stop experimenting with rock. Progressive folk-rock, this time**. Ara Salada** (whose name, by the way, is the etymology of Peragen’s historical capital, Arsal, with the meaning of “Salty Altar”) has done us the favour of cropping a song in half to meet the time limit rules. That song is called La Puerta, “the Door”. The full verse reads “open the door, kid”: open the door to love, to the morning light, to the mysteries inside each of us. Coming from a long Tunseist philosophical tradition, it’s all about opening ourselves to feeling, to inner exploration. “I wanted to climb up to the sky to see what prevents me from seeing inside myself”: no matter how much you focus on the external or how many places one has visited, the key for understanding the universe lies within yourself.

Together with stunning footage from Peragian landmarks such as Conoso, Lespanza, Merna or the Grand Temple of Arsal, Ara Salada proposes an inner and outer epic journey of self-awareness and folk-rock. We open the stage to Peragen, with the song “La Puerta". Enjoy!!!”

“From Blueacia, we have Leatste Pizza Stik singing “Disko” this song was the winner of Liet back in 2022. The artists didn’t want to perform their song for a while in Urthvision but finally they have decided they will participate. Some discussions have been taking place to change the song to have Staynish lyrics, but ultimately they decided against it since it might intervene with the original feeling of the song. The song is about the singer who lost his GF in a disco when he was performing to someone else also in the disco. Of course he thinks it’s a shame she left with someone else but they now both have to live with her decision.”

"Of all the musical genres to come from Fallan, none are as colourful or catchy as scag. Practitioners of scag, colloquially known as “scagheads” or “scagamuffins”, sing along to a catchy beat in rhythmical gibberish.

Scagman Juan (born Juan McCreenish), singer of Scagman, is widely regarded as the greatest scag singer in the artform’s history. As a boy, Juan developed a pronounced stutter, for which he was badly teased by his classmates, siblings, and child psychologist. Upon dropping out of school with no qualifications, he spent twenty years sweeping the floors of a donkey sanctuary, and was nominated as the Town Oaf in both 1988 and 1992.

But Juan’s life changed forever when he auditioned for the Fallanian TV show, Scag Idol. After demolishing the competition, his breakout single, Scag For Me, Baby, reached Double Platinum within six months, and was quickly cemented into the Scag Hall of Fame.

The lyrics of tonight’s song, Scagman, was inspired by the artist’s childhood struggles with his stutter. It presents us all with an upbeat and inspirational message that anyone can make music. After all, “if the Scagman can do it, so can you.”

“Although many half-dwarves in the isle of Llygad Duw tend towards modernist, multicultural attitudes with an emphasis on their mixed heritage, folk singer Eva Drwgddyn breathes life into pure Llygadian culture with her rendition of the traditional love song Dacw 'Nghariad. Spoken in Tafod, the ballad is set in the countryside, narratively placing the natural beauty of the earth – a central component of Llygadian religion and society – beside the aching sense of longing for one’s beloved, themes as emotionally powerful in modern Llygad Duw as in ages past.”

“Despite being part of the highest echelon of Thalorian society, Marialeth took the Thalorian stage by storm in 2023 with her album “fwd to::”. And now, she performs for her country in Urthvision with possibly, her best song ever!”

"Valkyr-Stjerne Studio anime adaption of the national Nystatinne musical, Springtime for Naylorbrookisza streaming only on Nordflix. Led to a instant hit within the Nys’tat’en speaking world, particularly with new song introduced at the end of the first act. Total Take Over, a Valkyr reimagining of the Naylorbrookiszna’s paramilitary take over of the congress building, with hard hitting lyrics which more directly call out the late dictator’s violent history. The lyrics not only thing being a challenge to the original musical, as music itself is a stark contrast as it lacked traditional Borean instruments and replaced with hard hitting punk rock.

Mrx. Ny’Hanlenderdugh, of Vakrestrender, and the other members of her all elven band written the song after watching the original musical. Being approached by the studio, they joined on right away to add in their own original song to the anime adaption."

“Time for our final act of this half of the show. Up and coming Acronian popstar Íniria Mexa has taken the Tavari Union charts by storm with her hit, 'Praise You’, that strikes a wry balance between the religious life held dear by so many of her fellow Acronians and the real, every-day lives that people lead where devotion is far more mundane. Praise You is partially inspired by Akronist worship music, but Íniria sings to the yearning souls of romantic Acronians with a fun, daring, and irresistibly groovy style.”

HALF TIME

We have a returning guest for this half time show, the runners up of Urthvision XXI; Phantoms! Please enjoy as we are preparing the next half of the contest!

welcome back to the second half of Urthvision XXII!

Nawwquta has actually tried this year. Mr BUMP, singer of BUMP OF CHICKEN sings of his experience losing his sister. His sister went “looking for a dungeon” as he describes it, but instead went caving and ate a bunch of rats. She still hasn’t returned.

Tri-Syn burst onto the Neo-Fantøm last year with their hit single ‘Repeating Plastic’ and fantastic dance moves. While different from what is typical on the Nystatinne radio stations, the band made their mark on Neo-Fantøm blending Valkyr Pop and computer instruments of the Western Boreans. The group originating from District Millionærrekke over in the Nystatinne-side of the famous city but was discovered by the Rikevaari music studio, Tronerubegrenset.

The song being a personal favorite of the Nystatinne Prime Minister, Victoria Engebretsen who personally approved of the song to go on radio all across the country.

Next up is Kazhimistan.

Sophia and Erique du Lecocq are a husband-wife music duo from Arktorís, the heart of Elatana’s Alkari north, who take inspiration from pop and disco music but broke out into the national scene with their acoustic version of their hit “I’m Coming Home,” which Queen Elarai herself recommended to the Elatanan Ministry of Culture as the country’s submission. The pair are determined to increase the visibility of the Alkari elven community in the Tavari Union and agreed to postpone their tour of Tavaris and Acronis on the invitation of the Queen to represent Elatana in its Urthvision debut.

Experimental, unapologetically hostile, industrial, powerful sound and lyrics that hit like a sledgehammer. From the Axdelian capital, the critically acclaimed DEATH BEAKS are here representing Axdel. Despite their success and immense internet talonprint the last decade has seen the band break up several times over cancelled albums and tour commitments, so them being able to perform here was thanks to a cosmic load of luck more than anything.

Next up, we have an act that’s a little bit of everything - with one notable exception. From the frozen tundra of northern Aduraszna comes a new rock sensation. Written in the wake of the civil war in neighbouring West Borea, The Video takes a look into the dying days of a crumbling regime. Well I never knew that crumbling regimes were good for five weeks at the top of the Aszar Official Singles Chart. Fresh from the town of Trusdzhra, this is: Everything But Thieves!

We now come to the Oan Isles. Solo sensation who left her childhood girl group, Asaya’s Angels, in her early 20s to pursue a career as a solo artist. In that time she has released 5 albums and countless singles, two of which two, Put Your Hands and To the Left, have become global hits, hitting various international music charts.

(Song begins at 1:32)

CHIBIMETAL are a new, up-and-coming band straight out of Aozora, in Shimajiro, known for their energetic and fats-paced heavy metal songs in a genre that has been described as “kawaii metal”, which has been gaining a lot of traction in Shimajiro over the last few years! CHIBIMETAL are quickly becoming favourites among the Shimanese public, winning the 2024 edition of the GZTSS song contest by popular vote! Shimajiro is here to prove heavy metal can be heavy… and cute! And what better way to prove it with CHIBIMETAL’s 2025 hit and appropriately named “HEADBANGERRRRRRR!!!”

EPILEPSY WARNING: The following performance may contain flashing lights and imagery.

Layla comes from the Deserts of Khor Sha’aidat to give us a beautiful vocal performance with her new single "Stuck in this Paradise" !! Layla always had a passion for singing, and now she has the honor of representing Sayyed after winning the annual Sayqidi Festival of Music !!

Marina Ravndatur an famous Hjørdist singer from Eyjaria comes to Urthvision with a song that would resonate with many who felt they weren’t appreciated enough in past relationships. As Ravndatur quite bluntly put it in Norgsveltian. “I’m the fucking best that ever happened to you” — Am I allowed to say that on air?

Ravndatur having become famous in Eyjaria for what many has called as ‘aggressive’ songs about past romances. With this one being called her most politest one yet.

Vondarinkuvik Vahkazhral, translating as “Beneath Dawn’s Star is a Little Fire,” is a band from Hvitsora known for their ethereal and almost melancholic sounding music. Their song, Apocalypse, is about the inability of one’s new lover to let go of the past and truly embrace their new relationship for all its ups and downs. Give it up for Asendavia!

Drąsa is an electronica band originally founded in Sevigograd, Luthaiya in 1997 by Arūnas Gunvalas. After the outbreak of the Luthaiyan Civil War, Arū and the other members of Drąsa fled to Valokchia to escape the violence. While they remained moderately popular within their own scene for many years, it wasn’t until the release of Loot in 2011 when they attained large-scale success both within Valokchia and much of the rest of northeast Yasteria.

Morave is a Eweic musical group that originated near the Talamadda Flocking Province around 2020. Over the years, they have seen some success in their region, but recently with their hit single Weaver, Morave became well known nation-wide. Weaver resonated with many in Ewenshire as a celebration of traditional ways of life and the aspects of Eweic culture that have sometimes been shunned away in the past. In a national song contest, Weaver won the votes by a wide margin and thus Morave will represent Ewenshire in the Urthvision Song Contest.

Lastly, here comes Ipheklori with LAKAN and their song Maharani. LAKAN’s name comes from the old Tagislan term for a male nobles. LAKAN rode the pop craze that recently swept Sokala and Iphelklori, along with their counterparts in Sokala. Maharani topped Iphelklori’s pop charts for two weeks and was voted to be “Best Pop Group” in the Iphelklori Pop Awards in 2024. Now showing us the beauty of old Tagislan clothing and culture, please welcome LAKAN!

A friendly, familiar face appears on the screen when it’s time for the Shimanese delegation to submit their jury votes. And, it’s none other than the prestigious Royal Princess of Seikan, Princess Asuka herself!

She appears, gleeming with a great big smile on her face, holding a very large box of popcorn. She had been thoroughly enjoying the festivities of the night alongside the Shimanese jury.

Princess Asuka | Go aisatsu, Urthvision! What a fantastic night! A huge congratulations to Chibimetal on their performance, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them over the last few months. Just know, you girls have done us very proud! We hope you have a safe trip home!

Without any further ado, it is my absolute honour to present the votes from the jury of Shimajiro, for the first time ever! And finally, last but most certainly not least…

Our TWELVE points this year go to…

Asendavia! Such a beautiful, beautiful song! It very much brought a tear to my eye.

An tall woman with short red hair wearing a dark blue dress suit with a pencil skirt, the woman standing in front of green screen that showed off Eyjarian Fjords and Mountains. Until focusing on an monument with large stone sword buried into the ground. She cleared her throat to gain their attention. A wide smile on her lips, her tone having a clear sense of happiness behind it.

“Good evening Urth, I will like to thank our hosts from Tawuse for organising-”

The sounds of loud booing seemed to completly deafen her, her being quiet until booing stopped until she spoke up again.

"Anyways here is our points!

For our first point, it will go to the country of Fallan, and their Scagman!

For our second points it is going to the country of Elatana and the song I’m Coming Home.

Three points going to Nawwquta and the singer Mr. Bump… I am very sorry to hear about what happened to your sister?

Four points will be going for Acronis! I hope Mrs. Mexa feeling bit more praised!

Five points will be going to Thalor! I hope Marialeth gives Eyjaria a visit in the future!

Six points goes to Ewenshire and the group Morave!

Seven points goes to Kaldrbuth! It is certainly an non controversial song, totally not about an controversial war at all."

Her smile was cracking under pressure at that before clearing her throat.

"Our eight points goes to Limbo! I personally really enjoyed your song, and I pray that SLN might find themselves performing in Sverdstrand!

Our ten points meanwhile goes to Nystatiszna! I certainly understand why Mrs. Engebretsen enjoyed Try-Syn’s peformance! Amazingly well done!

And last of all, our big twelve points goes to… Vakrestrender! The song being the top rated song among the Eyjarian public! So rest well knowing that more people will certainly be watching that adaptation! Amazing performance from Mrx. Ny’Hanlenderdugh!

With that, we wish Urth, a great night!"

An elven woman with an extremly long red hair that was braided into a pony tail appeared on the screen. Dressed in expensive white outfit that mixed aspects of both nobility and military with its uniformity, with a long red cape behind her. With leather belts around her waist, and plenty of golden flower symbology around the uniform as well. With her wearing a pair of black leather gloves that acted as complete contrast to the white uniform. Alongside her exposed left elven ear was also golden earings with symbol of Mjølnir hanging off from it. With her having an earpiece in her right ear. Behind her on the green screen was scene of a large pyre that almost seemed to sign the elven woman more up. In contrast to other presenters, this woman was far more stern. With narrowed eyebrows and with her red lips more pressed into a frown.

“Good evening Urth. I hope everyone involved is as excited as I am.”

Her tone was completly opposite in her words by how utterly unexcited she was.

"As such, I Maril Leonidatur of House Bleuritur, pleased to been chosen by our royal broadcaster to give out the points from the Kaldrbuthian public and jury.

As such our 1 point will go to Thalor and the… lovely lady, Marialeth. Despite not gaining a single point from the Jury, the public found themselves enjoying it. So congratulation…

2 points will go to Limbo and their band SLN. With its interesting style in both music and dance moves, it stole hearts of our public. Congratulation.

3 points will go to Acronis, while we may belong of different faiths both the public and Jury sympathised quite well with her devotion. Congratulation.

4 points will go to, Na-Naw, give me a moment"

Mic was cut off for a moment as Maril walked off the screen for a moment, with there being a moment of silence before walking back to the screen looking even more annoyed.

"Our 4 points goes Nawwquta. Congratulation.

5 points goes to Elatana, and their husband-wife duo of Sophia and Erique. Our jury was more than taken even by their talents, and may their efforts for visibility succeed. Congratulation.

6 points goes to Eyjaria, one which is among the bigger disputes between the jury and public, with the Kaldrbuthian public scoring the song three times higher than the jury. As such many waiting for Ravndatur to come here to Kaldrbuth for her next consert. Congratulation.

7 points goes to Ewenshire. Both the public and Jury found quite a liking from our fellow UCA member’s song, Morave’s celebration of traditional aspects of their culture is something many Kaldrbuthians couldn’t help but appreciate in a contest like this. Congratulation.

8 points goes to… Vakrestrender. The unique style of music and topic, certainly caught the attention of the public. Becoming the highest voted song among the Kaldrbuthian public. As such Congratulation to Ny’Hanlenderdugh, she deserves it.

10 points goes to Nystatiszna, the band Tri-Syn can go home with the fantastic knowledge that they gained the second highest vote among the Kaldrbuthian public. Easily waking up anyone who might been sleeping on the couch with that scream and getting those in an dancing mood to swing. Congratulation.

And finally our last points, our big 12 points…. goes to…. Shimajiro!"

Perhaps for the first time an smile would actually appear on Maril’s lips as she said that. Not an large one, but an noticable one nonetheless.

"Earning third highest point from the public and the highest from the Jury. Chibimetal did not only get the audience to head bang along, but also the people and jury of Kaldrbuth. I am certain Chibimetal will find a friend in Amaliedatur. And I for one, loved their outfits.

With that being said. We wish everyone an good evening, may the gods bless every single one of you."

A blue and white graphic of the Fallanian coat of arms fades to the skyline of Hestam, the capital city of the Heart. DERMOT THE TOAD, a green amphibian puppet in a tuxedo, pops up from behind a podium.

DERMOT: Hi there, folks! Good evening from Hestam. It’s my honour to host the Urthvision awards ceremony for the Commonwealth of Fallan!

An audience of puppets erupts into rapturous applause.

DERMOT: Golly, what a show. Before we get to the top three, please give a big round of applause for the runners up!

The audience appreciatively claps. A graphic flashes on screen with the following results:

1 Peragen
2 Blueacia
3 Wed Shams
4 Aduraszna
5 Acronis
6 Thalor
7 West Borea

DERMOT: Anyway, there’s the pity votes out of the way. Let’s get to the good stuff. Eight points go to… TAWUSE!

Worried muttering in the audience. Dermot, realising his mistake, awkwardly coughs.

DERMOT: Oh. Excuse me. THE TAWUSIAN CAPE!

A scattered round of applause. Wiping his brow with a green felt hand, Dermot goes to his next note card.

DERMOT: Ahem. Ten points go to… NYSTATISZNA!

Another round of cheers. PHOSCAR THE GROUCH, a green puppet swearing loudly in Tawusian, stands up in the audience.

PHOSCAR: Traitor! You’re a disgrace!

Desperately trying to ignore the heckler, Dermot motions off-stage. Two puppet bodyguards enter the crowd and tackle Phoscar to the ground.

DERMOT (nervous): A-and now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Twelve points go to… ÑAWWQUTA!

The security guard pinning Phoscar to the ground goes white with fear. A red light on the front of Phoscar’s chest begins to blink menacingly.

SECURITY GUARD: Dear god, no.

PHOSCAR (triumphantly screaming): Long live Tawuse!

BANG. Members of the audience scream and leap for cover as the protestor detonates the device.

An awkward silence. The protestor, surrounded by confetti, looks very embarrased as he realises his IED was stuffed with party poppers.

The camera pans to two ELDERLY PUPPETS sitting in a box seat.

ELDERLY PUPPET 1: Boy, that was a pretty big disappointment.

ELDERLY PUPPET 2: You’re telling me. For a second, I thought we were gonna get to leave early!

Feed abruptly cuts as the elderly puppets loudly chortle

FIFTEEN LONG MINUTES LATER

William the Walrus is seen frollicking in Ovestbrrina marina, where he has been a place holder instead of the jury results show.

The screen quickly cuts back to the live audience. Mica appears flustered on screen
“Hahaha… How playful! No puppets were seriously harmed in the Fallanian live show”

The audience murmurs.

“Without further adieu, the Tawusian jury results!”

An infographic appears on the screen with the following scores:

1 Point Limbo
2 Points Nawwquta
3 Points Axdel
4 Points Acronis
5 Points Thalor
6 Points Fallan
7 Points Nystatiszna

“Our 8 points go to a beautiful ballad, the wonderful nation of Llygad Duw!”

They wait for the audience to calm.

“Our 10 points go to a moving entry, sang by the delegation of Asendavia!”

A drumroll plays

“And the 12 points… of the Tawusian jury. They… the 12 points go to….Korćetta!”

“Congratulations All! Diolcsi!”

The audience gets back to their usual level of rowdieness.

Sund! Hello Tawusian Cape! My name is Tesara Nira and I’m so happy to be bringing you the votes from the three constituent nations of the West Borean Federation! We’ve roped in a bunch of students from AZU to oversee the certification process - and put it on their CVs - and the results are in!

(Despite her insistence that she’s never dated anybody from Blueacia, and a repeat of last edition’s paralysis is unlikely to occur again, the production team have texted the full results to Tenerre ahead of time.)

And without further ado, here are the points! Congratulations to Leatse Pizza Stik!
