The year is 1939.
The fighting has gone on for years now, with no sign of respite. Artillery and infantry are the only sounds for the most war-torn areas of the world. This is the largest conflict our civilization has ever seen.
With new, awe-inspiring machines; Metal airplanes, machine guns, rockets and radios, the two sides clash in unimaginable spurts of blood and violence, locked in almost total war with no sign of an end. Millions lay dead in the battlefields, millions more wounded in medical tents and makeshift hospitals. It makes you wonder if this will ever end.
And yet it must, because a worse machine still is in the works; whispers of whispers, the myth of a legend of a secondhand story, tales of a weapon that can level cities in the press of a button. It is a race to control this awful technology, with no other way out of the war, and no one can say for certain what an end might mean. Perhaps an end to the violence may not be quite so appealing after all, if this weapon is what it seems to be.
You have won battles, but the war continues to rage.

[spoiler]Pretty simple, just 1940’s tech, with an emphasis on combat, bonus points for period accurate machinery with original spin. Oh, and, it’s an alternate universe, so don’t be afraid to get messy with it!
