Whut happens if I break a law?
Nothing if you don’t get caught. ![]()
Or if you do…[ul]
[li]If it’s a first time and a minor infraction, you might get a warning.
[li]If it’s a repeat offense (you don’t listen to warnings) or a major infraction, you’ll get hammered.
[/li][/ul]Warning might be as simple as your offending post disappears and you get a PM from an Admin telling you to knock it off. If they decide to make an example out of you, they might publicly chastise you. Wait, in TEP I’ve never seen that. Except to apply the tiny warning light under your avatar. OK, maybe that happened to me in another region.
By hammered I mean that your forum account and all of your posts disappear. That’s the swift fist of Admin and we can boo hoo all we want, but it happens. Allegedly.
Half way between hammered and warned is a trial in that Conclave-thingy. Which appears to be rare, so I suspect a hammering is more likely to happen than a trial.
Minor infractions might include what falls under n00b behavior: posting spam in a government thread, getting all OOC in a Role Play, spamming up people’s PM inboxes, repeatedly asking annoying questions easily answered by reading up on the game and the region. Although on that last one, TEP has a reputation of being nice to n00bs even if they ask silly and easily answered questions. So I take that last one back. OK, maybe that happened to me in another region.

Major infractions (hammer time) might include trolling (being abusive, calling names, accusing others of crimes against humanity or farm animals), a form of trolling called flaming and flame baiting (saying nasty things about others or trying to provoke them to say nasty things about you), violating the forum TOS (see link at bottom of page in small print that says “Terms of Use”) posting R or X rated images or language, threatening (don’t post a threat followed by JK or LOL, it’s still a threat), or making such noise you’re disruptive.
A minor infraction turns into a major infraction when you receive a warning and ignore it.
