What if your RP Character Got Their Way From Here on Out?

OOC: This is a concept I’ve been dabbling over for quite some time: if your character happened to win every single contest here on out, like diplomatic meetings, elections, perhaps wars, etc, what would the world look like in, say, 10-20 years? What nations wouldn’t exist? Would your nation exist, even? What would people act like, and what would their cultures be? These questions are obviously non-canon, but may spawn an alternate universe if enough people are interested.

My thoughts are as follows: characters need to lose. That’s how they grow. They need to feel the pain of growth, otherwise their flaws become exacerbated and pronounced, right? If there’s nothing to stop them, why should they grow or change? Wouldn’t their flaws become worse over time? This is the thread where we start answering these questions. Judging from other national world leaders, I’d expect to see a lot of dystopian worlds, but I could be wrong.

Your character doesn’t need to be a world leader - even a normal citizen can drastically affect the world around them. But here is some food for thought: no one will create a perfect world. There will be flaws and there will be issues, some of which are grossly overlooked. So, it’ll be interesting to see where everyone ends up.

If Evesuni Got His Way
It’s a nice Spring day in Ye’leli. The birds sing their songs, the sun rays peer over buildings and fauna ever-present in the bustling city that is now the staple of the Vekaiyun Union. Eveusuni, with his old-world way of handling politics, built the city partly out of politics but also out of the black market, casinos, bookies, and other behind-the-scenes practices. Indeed, while Listonia could never hope to be the lead in the Vekaiyun Union, its rich capitol provided the central backdrop needed for prosperity in the continent.

Listonia defeated Elphana, which quickly turned into a conflict with Sevropia. Listonians enlisted in droves to defeat what it perceived as a threat to its independence, and a bitter war that lasted for months ended in a crushing defeat for Sevropia, which had been abandoned by their colonial providers. Rather than accumulate land from the attack, which was perceived to be a Vekaiyun way of things, the Listonians instead settled for peace and reparations from some 400 years of oppression. Evesuni in turn used the money to further his criminal empire, making the state a significant economic power, though certainly shady to outsiders.

Listonia is a very corrupt nation, but one that is able to stand on its own if it wants to. Trouble is, Evesuni for some reason never wanted it to truly separate from the Union. It is unclear as to why this was the case, as far as the public was concerned. Perhaps he perceived a bit of ancient nationalism in the twilight of his life? It’s not quite known, but his closest advisers noticed how despondent he was towards the end of his life. Nothing really seemed to make him happy, and it seemed that the more success he endured, the less content he became, privately, of course.

Unknown to the public, he was beginning to regret his past life. He once felt that if he became successful, it would solve all his problems and fix relationships he had ruined over the years. It didn’t. It instead made him so busy that he became increasingly irritated over trivial state matters. So intense was this anger that he eventually killed Lso Yiskevi, though the union conveniently - and begrudgingly due to his popularity - covered it up. Ikrisia, his daughter, grew apart from him, and he, never divulging in his true emotions, felt it was up to her to apologize to him.

Yet on his death bed, after his second lung began to give out, all he wanted was for her to be at his side. He would trade away all his accolades, heck, the Listonian state even, just to see her once more. But she was far too busy with politics and shoring up a growing Vekaiyun front to really care. In the end she hardened her heart toward him, and while she didn’t want to do that, it was really the only self-defense she knew. For she found out about his criminal empire, his murderous rage, his past, and didn’t see any sign of repentance. He was, after all, too proud and too headstrong to really show the truth: he was an uneducated man who was entrusted with too much. He just didn’t know how to handle it.

He would die a miserable death. The Vekaiyun Premier knew of it, and seemed to display an interest, but his advisers figured it would only give him more stress, so they kept him in the dark. He died fighting for his breath as years of smoking and abuse took its toll on his system. The state would hold an honorary funeral march for him, which Ikrisia would in fact attend, and he would be interred in a glass coffin, after enough resin was pumped into him in order to keep him preserved. There he would be a constant inspiration to a state that desperately needed a hero and a legend.

Of course, his face was doctored up quite a bit. Instead of a struggled expression, he would appear as if he was smiling slightly. It was the best the morticians could do - he just really wanted to appear unhappy, they informed. Regardless, he would be on display for the whole world to see, and to remember how the Listonian state originated and formed into the splendor that it was, due in part to his efforts.
