What is Endorsing and What Does it Do?
Endorsing in a NationStates sense can only be performed by nations that have joined the World Assembly (W.A.). It is how the delegate is put into power in-game: he or she gains the most endorsements among all the other nations in the region and therefore becomes the delegate. If you look at the bottom of a W.A. nation in The East Pacific, you’ll note that they may have endorsements. Some nations have more than others.
How do I endorse someone?
Let’s say you’re a W.A. nation and you want to endorse someone. All you need to do is the following:[ul]
[li]Go to the W.A. nation’s page you want to endorse.
[li]Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for the button that reads ‘Add Your Endorsement’.
[li]Click the button.
[/li][/ul]Really simple stuff. Your nation name should immediately appear in the Endorsements Received list for the nation you just endorsed.
Why should I endorse someone?
Typically, the people you should endorse in the The East Pacific is the current delegate and the viziers listed in the World Factbook Entry (located just below the delegate on the region page). Doing this will help with regional security and will show your support for The East Pacific. How does this help with regional security? Well, there are nations who will sometimes abuse their level of endorsements in the region and might even try to get more endorsements than the delegate, which could be very harmful for the region. Giving the delegate and the viziers more endorsements makes it harder for those who want to threaten our region to come over and attack it.
It is your choice who you want and do not want to endorse. The East Pacific does not require you to endorse anyone and respects your right to endorse whoever you please.
Can I get endorsements? Are there any limitations?
Of course you can get endorsements. Endorsements are required for submitting W.A. proposals, for instance, so sometimes they’re very helpful. They can also affect influence, albeit very, very slowly. But there are limits.
The East Pacific has an [Endo Cap](Tep Forum | 404 - Link Expired where only the delegate, viziers, and specific nations asked by the delegate are entitled to surpass. Passing the endo cap will cause people to get a little nervous, especially about regional security. Nations breaching this number will get a telegram from a concerned nation telling them to get below the endorsement cap or the delegate will be forced to ejected them for a 24-hour period (at least). Normally this telegram will give an ultimatum, like “lower your endorsement count to below 80 in 72 hours or you’ll be ejected.” Once a nation is ejected, their endorsement count starts at zero and they’ll have to start all over again. So, it’s cool to gain endos - just make sure you don’t gain too much!
