Tribune Tomlinson Praises Movement, Joins Protest; Ledbetter Noncommittal.

Several major city streets were clogged with bicycles this morning, as the environmental group ‘Two Wheels Good, Four Wheels Bad’ staged a protest. Several hundred riders ambled through downtown streets, blissfully ignoring the torrent of abuse hurled at them by thousands of motorists running late for work.
Second term Tribune, Violet Tomlinson from Sur de Dolores heartily endorsed the movement and promised that she will introduce legislation in the Tribunes soon supporting a move to ban cars in major areas.

When questioned, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister, Lula Ledbetter said, “All I can say right now is that we understand what it is this group of workers is saying and we are taking it under advisement. The Directory and the People’s Assembly will speak to this specific matter soon enough.”

D.R.A.W. Ratifies Concordat of East Pacific; Citizens Jubilant!

(Central News Bureau)
Wild celebration was what met the news of the Ratification of the East Pacific Concordat midday Monday on Assembly Hill. The Workers’ National Liberation Army fired salvos in salute, church bells were rang, and exultant citizens burst into spontaneous choruses of Solidarity Forever.
Governor-General Parkes remarked at the lightning speed with which ratification was achieved in both houses and the unanimity of the votes. She has also declared September 23, “Concordat Day,” and hopes that the Assembly will soon make it a national holiday.

The full text of the Ratification Proclamation is included below:

the representatives of the Sovereign Assembly of the People of The Democratic Republic of American Workers, duly elected in pursuance of the Constitution of the Sovereign People of The Democratic Republic of American Workers and having now met in plenary session, having fully and freely investigated and discussed the several Articles of the CONCORDAT OF THE EAST PACIFIC and being prepared as well as the most mature deliberation has enabled us to decide thereon,
DO,
in the name and in behalf of the People of The Democratic Republic of American Workers declare and make known that the powers granted under the Concordat being derived from the Citizens of the East Pacific may be resumed by them whensoever the same shall be perverted to their injury or oppression and that every power not granted thereby remains with them and at their will

With these impressions, with a solemn appeal to the Searcher of hearts for the purity of our intentions and under the conviction that whatsoever imperfections may exist in the Concordat ought rather to be examined in the mode prescribed therein,
