A clever yet wily and highly eccentric individual, he is markedly popular as Kath and many seek out his company for more than the opportunity to gain favors.

Ariyala Wisanta Beralis (41)
Both Kath’a and the Duchess of Libella through her mother’s bloodline, Zandion’s chosen wife is a woman whose disposition is somewhere in between steel and silk. Her opinion means almost as much to her husband as does the High Priestesses, and her indomitable courage has carried her through the deaths of four of her children in the Succession.

Xaeyth Beralis (22)
The current Val (heir) of Xoriet, he is more like his mother than his father. Though he shows promise as heir, his critics are many due to the fact that he seldom appears in public without a very good reason to do so. He spends his time studying as Val. His primary competition is his younger sister, Kathira.

Both the heir to her mother’s noble title and an Heir-apparent, Kathira is the sole princess who has chosen to pursue the Throne. Her nature is an unusual combination of both of her parents’ demeanors. Her father’s favorite (secretly), Kathira is the only member of the royal family that can challenge Xaeyth for the position of Katha.

Her icy demeanor and aura of absolute authority make her someone rarely sought for company. Still, her influence is undoubted in Xoriet.
