Magister Vussul has proposed an Amendment to the Standard Date & Time Act on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 4:56 AM UTC

This Bill was motioned to vote on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 4:38 PM UTC, and was seconded by Deputy Provost ArenaC on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 5:19 PM UTC.

Pursuant to Article B, Section 5 of the Concordat & the Standing Orders of the Magisterium, this proposal needs a standard majority of voting Magisters to pass. In addition, the quorum of 50% must be upheld.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE MAGISTERIUM OF THE EAST PACIFIC

SECTION I. CITATION & DEFINITIONS

…1.1. This Act shall be known and cited as “The Standard Date Time Act”.

2. For the purposes of this Act, “TEP Forums” shall be “https://forum.theeastpacific.com”.

SECTION II. DEFINITIONS

…2.1. For the purposes of this Act, “TEP Forums” is outlined as “The East Pacific’s official forum” in The Regional Services and Security Act.

SECTION III. OFFICIAL TIME STANDARD

…3.1. The official timezone for the East Pacific shall be Universal Coordinated Time, also known by the abbreviation UTC.

…3.2. The official date format for the East Pacific shall be the “Discourse standard”, defined as YYYY-MM-DD.

YYYY-MM-DD is comprised of the following:

a). YYYY is defined as the Year; ie 2023.
b). MM is defined as the Month; ie 02.
c). DD is defined as the Day; ie 07.

…3.3. All date-timestamps posted on the TEP Forums used to define legal deadlines must use the Discourse-native “date” code functionality.

…3.3.1. Examples of compliant date-time codes are displayed in Appendix A.

SECTION IIIIV. EXEMPTIONS

…4.1. The provisions of this Act do not preclude or prevent the usage of any other timezone or date-time measurement system for non-official purposes.

SECTION IV. ENACTMENT

…5.1. Upon enactment of this Act, the Standard Time Act shall be repealed in it’s entirety.

Voting period of 168 hours (1 week) occurs between the following time period
Wednesday, November 1, 2023 1:30 PM UTC→Wednesday, November 8, 2023 1:30 PM UTC

Vote NAY or AGAINSTif you are against the amendment.
