DONG MEN MLA DEMANDS REGISTRATION PLATES ON ALL BIKES.
Dong Men MLA Ai Sha has called for his fellow colleagues to support legislation that formally requires all bicycles to have registration plates on them.
The outspoken politician said the legislation would make it difficult for youths to commit anti-social crimes as the reg plates will be traced back to the owner. This mandatory reg plate proposal comes in the wake of a series of youths who threw wet tissues at random bystanders and fleeing the scene on bikes.
Mr Ai said one incident of such behaviour is too much and suggested a BL$1,000 fine for future incidents and a possible 2 year ban for non-compliant bike users.
