BREAKING NEWS: Kobayashi Taro is found guilty of rape. Former Interim Admin gets 35 years in prison.

Former Interim Admin Kobayash Taro (Pictured above) has been found guilty of raping a young woman in the streets of Pyongjing.

In a jury of 11 people, the verdict has overwhelmingly voted in favour of the family victim over Mr Kobayashi and he will serve the minimum sentence of 35 years. Although the maximum punishment for rape is 25 years, Judge Zhu Di has stated the extra 10 years is for perverting the courts of justice by giving false information. Ms Zhu has stated that minutes published at the time of Yang’s rape are fake due to the age of the ink and paper and therefore concluded that the writings are too recent.

Back in October last year, the terrorist group Free Bai Lung has released a shocking video showing the 49 year old sexually assaulting 25 year old Yang Jie Jie. The video also showed the man giving sexually charged dialogue at his victim. Miss Yang survived the ordeal but later committed suicide in her flat by overdosing on heroin. The jury concluded that the rapist featured in the video is Mr Kobayashi himself despite repeatedly denying meeting the girl.

Due to the lack of evidence which suggest Mr Kobayashi played a part in Miss Yang’s death, he will not face the death penalty, which continues to be used in practice. Despite this, Yang’s father, Roh Ming Lin, has denounced Mr Kobayashi for his actions.

— Begin quote from ____

"Justice has been served and the case put to rest for Jie Jie. This man [Kobayashi] is a murderous, drug crazed, sex beast who should serve [the jail sentence] longer than the entire reign of the 3 dynasties. He will never be released and see daylight again. Not after what he did to my sweet, lovely, benevolent daughter. This egotisical maniac will serve every last second of his life in that confined room.

-Roh Ming Lin"

— End quote

Several mobs of protesters attempted to stone the 49 year old as he was taken to the police van where he will serve his sentence in jail. Several rioters chanted out “Down with Kobayashi, Down with Chiba, Down with the J@ps!” as police attempt to extinguish the riots.

Chiba Seto to press charges on racially motivated assault.

As an act of expressing zero tolerance, acting Interim admin Chiba Seto has announced his intentions to press charges against the mob who assaulted him on Sunday.

Returning to Bai Lung with minor injuries, Mr Chiba has placed a firm stance to those who use violence against politicians. Spending a week long tour in Kelssek to meet with various locals including Prime Minister Pierre Gautain, a group of 5 men allegedly shouted racial epithets at Mr Chiba at Burnaby International Airport before engaging in a brutal attack at the 62 year old. All 5 suspects have been detained by the police, pending charges. Meanwhile, Mr Chiba has called for the 5 men who attacked him to be punished severely.

This is not the first time an Interim Admin has faced such a brutal ordeal. Many commentators have dubbed the role of the Interim Admin “The Most Dangerous Job in Bai Lung”.

In June last year, the Presidential Office building had to be evacuated temporally when a man entered the premises soaked in gasoline and threatening to burn himself along with late Wang Bin. The crisis came to an end when the Dannistrian army shot him dead.

In the following month, Kim Ki Moon was allegedly poisoned by rival Yao Ma. Both died in August. The former succumbed to the poison and latter hanging himself while detained by police.

In August of that year, Li An Ying was the subject of an assassination attempt when a man entered the podium and tried to shoot Mr Li but the gun jammed at a critical moment. The following week, Li was the subject of another assassination plot when a man entered the lobby hall where Mr Li held a press conference, and attacked Mr Li with a pipe.

In September, former Interim Admin Kobayashi Taro was stabbed repeatedly by a crazed man while holding a speech in the Pyongjing City Hall.

Acting Interim Admin Li An Ying survived a third assassination attempt when a bomb exploded in the city centre of Qing Qing. The explosion took place north of the where Mr Li was staying.

In related news, junior secretary of the treasury Stephen T. Ding has been questioned by police for allegedly writing a memo to Mr Chiba, threatening to pour hot water on his face if he did not resign. Mr Ding denies writing such a memo and claims that it was taken out of context.

BREAKING NEWS: Chiba Seto is removed from office after losing vote of confidence. “I will stand by original statement to the very end.”

Former Acting Interim Admin Chiba Seto has lost his bid to remain as Interim Admin of Bai Lung, BLCTV News has confirmed today.

At 1245 today, the motion to oust Mr Chiba from power was passed through successfully by a large majority. 68% of his entire cabinet are reported to have been unsatisfied with his leadership and have vote against him. The cabinet have claimed that Mr Chiba’s handling of the Laneux riot in Kelssek last month is the main reason why Mr Chiba should be removed from power. Notable defenders of Mr Chiba include deputy Kurosawa Aya and Secretary of Labour Sanada Miyuki, who have praised Mr Chiba for his efforts.

Secretary of the treasury Li An Ying is reportedly the only person to abstain from from the vote. In an interview with Mr Li, he explains why:

— Begin quote from ____

"I openly disapprove of these votes as they are a childish way to through somebody out of power. What I would like to do is to mediate the situation and solve all petty disputes without resorting to being down and dirty about it. That is why I chose not to cast my vote.

-Li An Ying

— End quote

The former interim admin was given an hour to pack up his gear, relinquish the baton of exalted ceremonies (an item given to the interim admin) and leave the premises. Various media have spent the next few hours waiting for a statement from the 62 year old. At 1645, Mr Chiba left his place of residency to give a statement. He has defended his actions and at the same time, congratulated replacement interim admin Richard Im.

— Begin quote from ____

“It’s a predicament I ultimately did not expect and welcome. I believed my actions by claiming no responsibility for the Laneux riot are purely justified and I see absolutely no reason to change from that. I’ve done nothing wrong and therefore I stand by my original statement to the very end. I offer my blessings to Richard Im. May he succeed as a better interim admin than me and he will continue carrying the baton of exalted ceremonies and carry it to the path to democracy.”

-Chiba Seto

— End quote

Other members of his cabinet gave their reaction to Mr Chiba’s ousting. Junior secretary of the treasury, Stephen T. Ding was enthusiastic about the departure of Mr Chiba.

— Begin quote from ____

“Mr Chiba could’ve chose the option of leaving the top office the easy way [voluntary resignation] but being a downright stubborn person he is, he chose to be booted out the hard and painful way and he certainly paid the price for that. I’ll be keeping my name for the upcoming interim admin elections and if elected, I can convict Mr Chiba for failing to accept responsibility for the Laneux riots last month. The riots are a heinous crime and we need to find the source of the problem. Mr Chiba failed to conduct background checks on the people and hence why they ran amok. It’s simple and anyone with common sense can comprehend that.”

-Stephen T. Ding

Chiba Seto is reported to be returning to Kelssek to prosecute the 5 men who assaulted him earlier this week at Burnaby Internation Airport.

Richard Im assumes position of Interim Admin. “I will change constitution”.

After the forced removal of former acting interim admin Chiba Seto, sacked member Richard Im has taken the position of acting interim admin with the majority of the cabinet giving their approval.

Speaking outside the presidential office building in the capital, Mr Im has promised to radically reform the government of Bai Lung by adding separate executive, legislative and judicial branches, calling it easier to maintain over the current system.

— Begin quote from ____

"The executive branch will consist of a president, who will be elected by a popular vote for a pair of four year terms. The president of Bai Lung will appoint the prime minister with approval of the National Assembly, as well as members of the cabinet.

The National Assembly of Bai Lung will form the legislative branch. Every 4 years, 299 members will be elected by the people of Bai Lung. Of that 299, 243 members will be elected first by the post and 56 members by proportional representation.

A judicial branch will enforce the laws we pass and ensure it does not conflict with what we pass. The Supreme court is our highest judiciary body, whose justices are appointed by the president with the consent of the National Assembly. We also plan to include a Constitutional court who will oversee question constitutionality"

— End quote

Mr Im will also announce reversing a few policies made by Mr Chiba, most notably what name should the next leader use.

— Begin quote from ____

“We need to change the constitution. Former interim admin Chiba Seto managed to take power without a Chinese name. When I get elected, I will change the constitution so only future leaders can only be sworn in with their Chinese names. Using a Chinese name means that the person has integrated well within Bai Lungese society and this will reduce the level of resentment amongst the people. If they don’t have one, they should formally adopt one otherwise the election is declared invalid.”

— End quote

When asked if he plans to reverse the decisions made by Mr Chiba while he met with Kelssek PM Pierre Gautain, he simply replied: “It’s going to be a mixed bag.”

Mr Im will tour around the country to start his political campaign. His rival candidate Stephen T. Ding will do the same. Elections are expected to be held at 15th April.

In related news, a man has been arrested for attempting to knife Mr Im because he claimed to dislike any Chinese dialect other than Mandarin. The knifeman, Oh Myung Da brandished the knife and threatened to stab Mr Im while he delivered his speech in Cantonese. He was taken away from the premises where he was charge for attempted assault.

For’af riot comes to an end.

After nearly 3 weeks of carnage, the rioting in the capital of East Dannistaan is officially declared over.

Pictured above shows the final intense hours of the riots. A Dannistrian photographer happened to be at the scene and took a photo of 2 retreating Bai Lungese running for their lives as a van driven by East Dannisrians attempt to run over the pair. Neither escaped out of For’af and both died of their injuries from the van which collided with them.

By 2238 today, the riot came to an end. Despite this, there is still is still racial tensions between the East Dannistrians and the remaining few Bai Lungese still living in the state capital. Estimates show that only 34,000 Bai Lungese are residing in Bai Lung with the remaining 2.9 million migrating to the neighbouring states or to another country.

The riot began as a result of a video showing Bai Lungese university students mocking elderly Dannistrian employees. The video showed these Dannistrian being forced to consumed urinated and defecated food. The nearly 3 week riot has resulted in the deaths of 6,815 Bai Lungese dead and 12,942 injured.

Former interim admin Chiba Seto, First minister of East Dannistaan Sarah Kah’riinah and Prime Minister P’aanil F’orrlason Smith and Governor General of Dannistaan Marie Clahrk’sohn have all condemned the riots and have called for calm in the city. The estimated costs caused by the rioting remains unknown although some sources estimated a billion BL Dollars worth of damages.

A cleanup operation is currently underway.

Stephen T. Ding criticises leader over health care reforms: “Richard Im will cripple health care system if he introduces publicly funded health care.”

The junior secretary of the treasury and interim admin candidate Stephen T. Ding (Pictured above) has criticised acting Interim Admin Richard Im for announcing a radical shake up to the health system of Bai Lung.

Speaking at the Wang Bin community centre in Pyongjing, the 48 year old lawyer has slammed his superior for attempting to publicly fund health care into the country as part of a program to radically re-shape the health care system since the fall of the Chenite and Nationalist regimes. Mr Ding likened Mr Im’'s proposals to a mummy.

— Begin quote from ____

“Mr [Richard] Im’s plans to bring publicly funded health care into the Free Republic of Bai Lung will show no benefit whatsoever. It would produce contrasting effects to what the proposer wants. By introducing universal health care, he is turning this country into another era of Chen Jong Sun. The public’s freedom of choices [for health care] will be stiff, paralysed and mummy like. The people will no longer be able to pay for what hospitals they wish to go to for their treatment. UHC will force you to do this, do that, don’t do this or that. It snatches the freedom we are fighting and dying for. Is this the path which the public wishes to embrace? Do we need to wait up to an hour under Mr Im’s reforms? That’s what universal health care will do. It will also mean increased taxes and this means the public are unable to keep up with the yearly taxes the low earning public has to pay. No! We should allow an array of health insurance companies to exist in this country. There should be varying offers for various needs. Mr Im wants a introduce a one sized fits all policy. No, no, no, that will not work. The glove don’t fit into the toddler’s hands, they need special needs. The toddler needs a baby health insurance and it’s what they need. Mark my words: Mr Im will severely cripple the health care system if he introduces UHC in this country and there’s no way the damages can be repaired.”

-Stephen T. Ding

— End quote

If elected, Mr Ding plans to increase the premium rate covered per head from BL$2000 to BL$5000.

Mr Im swiftly replied that while he respected the views of his colleague, he felt that imposing restrictions to the health care system is a necessity due to the number of low income families. He claimed that the current health care is causing more harm than benefiting Bai Lungese families.

— Begin quote from ____

“Although I express concern to the proposal made by my colleague, he has the right to decide to offer a choice to the general public and I respect him for that. However, well in advance planning and execution are the two most important aspects to make a policy work and I strongly suspect that Mr Ding has concocted this idea at the later parts of his campaign. I will execute my plans slowly over time and this is how we should pass laws as they are practical and easy to do. Mr Ding wishes to put forward his policy in the shortest time possible and this can result in a sudden change of attitude in the general public. They will be discontent, disgruntled and disappointed with their prospectus leader. It would also be catastrophic if he did put a law into effect the next day. Universal health care is essential because anybody can have the right to free treatment and by doing so, there will be no health bills racking up.”

— End quote

Mr Im also gave his response to Mr Ding’s claims that Im will increase taxes.

— Begin quote from ____

“The increase in taxes will be inevitable but no member of the public is expected to pay the enourmous pile up in one go. We can pay in tiny segments and I know that this is the most practical and ideal method to get taxes this way. Paying taxes monthly is the most viable option as it offers a long term solution to the economy.”

-Richard Im

Both Im and Ding will contest to be the 4th elected Interim Admin of Bai Lung on 15th April.

Severed head found in East Dannistaan.

A woman’s head has been found in a plastic bag by children playing on a beach in East Dannistaan. A human hand was also found some 20 yards from the head on Tahn’gaht beachfront in Port Ourad.

Two young sisters found the “grissly discovery” at 1030 EPT. They ran home and their parents called the police. East Dannistrian police said the force has quickly identified the woman as a Bai Lungese but further details have yet to be revealed such as her age, where she lived and her profession.

By 1800 yesterday, the body parts were removed from the scene and the area continues to be cordoned off.

Detective Chief Inspector Joseph Clahrk’sohn, the officer leading the investigation, said the forensic examinations to follow would be “very painstaking”:

— Begin quote from ____

“The forensic team will conduct a detailed examination of the body part which will be a very delicate and painstaking process. Right now at Port Ourad, every officer in the scene is searching the crime scene inch by inch to ensure that every last piece of evidence is unearthed and examined by our team with accuracy. Then we will determine the outcome of the victim.”

— End quote

Det Ch Insp Clahrk’sohn said the children who found the remains were “extremely upset” and were being cared for by their parents at home.

— Begin quote from ____

“The problem in the recent findings is the the victim does not appear to be a local of the Port and therefore does not fit the criteria we are looking for. However, we will not rule out that the person had been living outside the area.”

— End quote

The beach is very popular with dog walkers and local children, who are on their Easter break.

Patricia Mahr’tiin (aged 54), councilor of Port Ourad, said:

— Begin quote from ____

“This is kind of cases you would expect in the big cities, not like here. This is very unique yet grisly case. My sympathies go out to the children who found the severed head. They have went through a terrible ordeal, especially at such a tender age. The sooner this tragic mystery is cleared up, the better.”

-Patricia Mahr’tiin

— End quote

2 Bai Lungese men have been arrested by police in connection with the discovery of the woman’s head but have not been charged.

Richard Im and Stephen T. Ding compete head to head in election.

With only two candidates in the election, Richard Im and Stephen T. Ding compete with each other to be elected as the 4th Interim Admin excluding acting ones. Flyers and posters of both candidates dominate much of the country and even custom t-shirts of each candidate are part of the fierce campaign to get the top job.

Several newspapers have listed Mr Im as the favourite to win the election on April 15th with Mr Im leading the polls by a large majority with varying outcomes from 70-80% of votes in favour of Mr Im. A turnout of 55% is required to elect the interim admin and if the turnout falls short, a re-election is mandatory and will be held 3 weeks after the previous election. In January, Chiba Seto was unable to be elected as the new interim admin because of a shortage in turnout. Some political commentators called the high minimum turnout to be highly unfair and undemocratic while defenders considered the turnout a necessity as the minimum turnout is needed to prove the majority of eligible voters voted for that person as well as too make vote rigging more difficult.

Both candidates claim Christianity as their faith and if either has been elected, they will be the first Christians to be voted into office unless a third candidate throws him/herself into the ring. Excluding acting interim admins, previous elected interim admins have been atheists or Shintoists as is the case with Kobayashi Taro, who is a devout Shintoist.

Born Richard Lam Kar-Daam in New Jian Sha Zui, Mr Im holds the rare distinction of being a Cantonese speaker than a Mandarin one. Both of his parents are rich, ethnically Chinese who are raised Roman Catholics and both claimed Cantonese as their native tongues. At a young age, Richard Im had to change his surname from Lam to Im to avoid discrimination from fellow pupils as he came from a Cantonese speaking background. The dialect is not recognise by the general consensus and regards Mandarin as the only dialect of Chinese.

Despite holding Bai Lungese citizenship, Richard Im spent nearly half of his life in Dannistaan and it’s colonial master, the United Kingdom. He left Bai Lung in 1977 to study at Dannistra Onn University for 3 years followed by Oxford in the UK from 1981-1986. He spent the next 21 years running as a councilman in Dannistraa Onn, helping local communities. After the Bai Lung-Dannistaan war ended, Mr Im volunteered to put his hat in the name to run as a member of the Wang Bin cabinet. Mr Wang turned him down, citing his lack of experience in the field of politics. Deeply offended, he confronted Mr Wang in June to convince the late Interim Admin into giving him a place. Mr Wang considered Mr Im’s plea but died the next day. Speculations are now rife whether Mr Im killed Mr Wang but no evidence suggest he committed murder and the claim was swiftly dismissed.

Mr Im was offered the position of Secretary of the Interior by then acting interim admin Chiba Seto. While not interested at first, Mr Im accepted the job. His position was only a brief stint when he criticised his superior for failing to accept responsibility for a riot in Kelssek for which he was fired from the job. His sacking did not stop him from filling a motion of no confidence. After persuading the Secretary of Transportation Wang Joon-Jin, Mr Im managed to get the vote he wanted to put forward. The majority voted to remove Mr Chiba and he was removed from office. Mr Im was chosen to be the next acting interim admin until the election.

Some of Mr Im’s policies include universal health care, a parliamentary style government with a President as head of state and a change to the Bai Lungese constitution, allowing leaders with Chinese/Korean names to be sworn in.

Mr Im has been widely criticised by many for his lack of knowledge in the Korean language as it is one of the two official languages of Bai Lung. Many claimed that a non-Korean speaking leader would endanger the number of speakers in the home and many would pick Cantonese as their 2nd language. If elected, he would be the first Roman Catholic leader in power.

— Begin quote from ____

Name - Stephen Thomas Ding Shui Wan

Born - New Shenzhen, Bai Lung.

Ethnicity - Chinese, 1/4 Korean

Languages - Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Korean.

DoB - 23/02/60

Religion - Methodist

Education - Dannistra Onn University (1980-1983)

— End quote

Born to a Cantonese speaking, purely ethnic Chinese mother and a part Korean, part Chinese father, Stephen T. Ding’s background is more diverse than his rival. His mother is a cook while his father is a lawyer Unlike Richard Im, Mr Ding never faced discrimination in school because he always communicated to his teachers in Mandarin and he cites his father’s willingness to teach him to speak Mandarin.

Following his father’s footsteps, Mr Ding studied at Dannistra Onn University, the same university which his rival, Richard Im, has attended. It was from there he earned a degree in English, Law and Politics. Unable to find any clients when starting off as a lawyer, he took stints as assistants for councilmen at Dannistria Onn. It was not long before he tried to run as a councilor. Running under a Socialist ticket in 1992 after the incumbent chose not to be re-elected, he was one of several candidates elected. He give up his seat in 2000 to pursue his life long dream of being a lawyer. He was a generally successful lawyer, winning 80% of cases and reportedly, he raked up a whopping $33 million in 6 years. Famously, he was the lawyer representing controversial film director Marcel Chen when An An the Clown objected to footage of the latter. The case ruled in favour of Chen and An An was forced to pay $10 million to Chen, which 75% was given to Mr Ding.

Mr Ding’s policies include more freedom for health insurance companies, keeping the status quo by not turning the government into a parliamentary style one and changing the Bai Lungese constitution by forbidding candidates with Japanese names. Mr Ding also wishes to sever ties with Kelssek and therefore refuse troops from entering Bai Lung despite Chiba Seto giving approval.

Despite Richard Im being the favourite to win, there might be another shock victory like with the previous 2 elections because Mr Ding speaks Korean fluently and a
politician who speaks the two official languages is more likely to be voted into power.

In related news, Richard Im announces plans to visit Coocoostan and Kelssek to met respective leaders Andrei Pakhomov and Pierre Gautain. Mr Im will continue the work of predecessor Chiba Seto by discussing bilateral ties for his two visits.

Head in East Dannstrian beach woman identified.

East Dannstrian Police have identified the dead woman whose head was found in a beach in Port Ourad, East Dannstaan.

The woman is identified as 35 year old Bae Dà Ài Tè from Gao Bing Shui in the mainland territories. Her head was found on Tahn’gaht beach in Port Ourad by two young sisters on Saturday morning. Her hands and feet were later discovered by police. Ms Bae was a migrant worker who had been staying in Port Ourad, working as a taxi driver. She had been reported missing by her employer and her father has been told of her death.

About 60 officer are working full time on the inquiry and forensic searches of the property where Ms Bae resided have been taking place. Officers have also been carrying out door-to-door inquiries.

Two men, aged 19 and 40, were taken into custody on Saturday and have not been charged as police continue to question the two men.

Bai Lung film fans pay tribute to Charlton Heston.

Overseas Bai Lungese film buffs living in East Dannistaan have paid tribute to legendary American film actor Charlton Heston (Pictured above), who has died in his Beverly Hills home at the age of 84. Many Bai Lungese spent the day off, standing outside various cinemas throughout East Dannistaan holding candles and quoting dialogue from Heston’s most iconic roles.

His wife Lydia, was at his side when he passed away. Heston is best known for his portrayal of Michelangelo, El Cid and other heroic figures in Hollywod films made in the 50’s and 60’s. After his success with the American sci-fi film Planet of the Apes, Heston focused his attention is working in the theatre.

Many Bai Lungese, who have become naturalised Dannistrian citizens, regard his political views particularly on gun politics as inspiring. Many felt that his famous line spoken at a conference of American gun lobby, the NRA: “From my cold dead hands” has shed light into hoping that one day, they will get the right to bear arms, just like with their East Dannistrian counterparts who can own a gun. Under current East Dannistrian laws enacted by then ruling DNP state government, any citizen may purchase a firearm except those of Bai Lungese ancestry. While the DNP did not give a clear reason behind the ban, many called the law “extremely racist”. Despite a change in government, the Conservatives have been criticised for failing to change existing gun laws in East Dannistaan.

Heston is widely regarded and loved by many Bai Lungese, both film buffs and non-film buffs alike, because of his firm stance on gun rights and conservative views. Late dictator Chen Jong Sun, is a well known fan of the Ben Hur star. His now famous phrase at the NRA meeting, translated into Mandarin Chinese and Korean, is a part of daily lexicon in Bai Lungese society. Despite a de facto general social rule of thumb that stipulates only fellow Bai Lungese should be the only people a Bai Lungese can respect, Mr Heston is one of a handful of non-Bai Lungese people respected by many Bai Lungese.

Mr Heston’s family have said a private memorial service would be held.

Kashgar and Nanren riots in mainland territories and governing island erupts for the second time. Richard Im appeals for calm.

Wide spread racial riots have broken out in the Dalu capital city of Xinjiang, the governing island capital Pyongjing and several cities including New Incheon, Sing Ren and Choi, for the second time this year. Ethnic groups primarily consisting of the Kashgars amd Nanrens have clashed with the Bai Lungese over past treament.

A Bai Lungese eyewitness living in Sing Ren claimed that Nanren protesters burned down a sock factory. He called the attack “terrifying”.

Ethnic Kashgar and Bai Lungese groups have clashed with each other in the streets of Xinjiang (Pictured above), with the former looting shops with Chinese and Korean signs. Chairs and bricks were reported to have been thrown at shop windows owned by Bai Lungese, the ethnic majority group and ethnic slurs were directed at their rulers.

The first violent riot, which occurred last month on March 15th, coincided with the 49th anniversary of the failed uprising against the Nationalist government. Many governments around the world had condemned newly appointed acting interim admin Richard Im for his heavy handedness in March’s riots, something capitalised by rival candidate Stephen T. Ding.

Ethnic tensions between Bai Lungese and the Kashgars had it’s beginnings. The then ruling Nationalist government spent a 6 year campaign claiming random territories in the East Pacific in hopes to gain an economic and population advantage over most nations by taking the resources from that country and use for their own needs. The aggressive takeover of Dalu, then refered to as Kashgarstan, began in January 1952 and concluded on March 1958. It was then renamed to Bai Lung Dalu in 1958 to reflect the culture of the rulers. The Kashgar refer to the mainland as Taerranai Duaei, literally Large Terrain. A year after the takeover, a bloody uprising by the native Kashgars threatened to oust the ruling nationalist government. At the time of the bloody 1959 uprising, only 10% of the 55 million people living in the mainland territories are Bai Lungese.

As the demographic changed dramatically over the next 10 years, it was clear that the rulers became the ethnic majority of that country. By 1989, 78% of the population (est. 390 million) are Bai Lungese.

Prior to the 2008 riots, only 2 more related riots occurred after the one in 1959, although in the two cases they are comparatively smaller. One in 1962 when the Nationalist was overthrown by the Stalinist opposition and in 1975 during Stalinist rule. The latter case prompted Chen Jong Sun to enact a law which effectively ruled the mainland territories. The law known as Anti-Secession Act barred any attempts to split away from the rest of the country. Chen referred to the law as “Two countries, one system” meaning that although the mainland is populated by a different ethnic group, the law applies to the rest of Bai Lung.

Since the infamous law was put into place, it allowed Chen to wipe out any ethnic group he pleases. During his 44 years in power, he has ordered an estimate 25-35 million executions to those of Kashgar ancestry.

Fearing that they will face the same fate in Mao island, the Nanrenian’s chose to hide underground to avoid prosecution from the Stalinist government. Despite doing so, ISB often conduct random house to house raids to find any ethnic Nanrenians or suspected to be Nanrenians.

However, the perceived fear of being prosecuted by the Chenite regime is long past and riots have occurred in the cities of New Incheon, Sing Ren, Choi and the capital Pyongjing. There have been reports of spears and improvised arrows being launched at Bai Lungese owned shops in protest of their past treatment.

Despite this, the Bai Lungese responded back by engaging in a stabbing frenzy and looted Nanren owned shops. The Bai Lung Police Force have sent police officers to the hot spots to quell out any rioting. Commissioner Chen Myung Bai has condemned the rioting calling it “a pointless exercise of mindless wanton violence.”

Acting Interim Admin Richard Im (Pictured above) has called for calm and tolerance just hours after the violent clashes started. Mr Im has appealed to Coocoostan, Dannistaan, Dovakhan and Free Pacific States to aid in the quelling of the intense riots. He also re-iterated plans to visit Coocoostan and Kelssek.

To date, 157 people died in the 2nd wave of riots and BL$70 million worth of damages caused.

OOC Notes: The Kashgars are an ethnic group native to the mainland territories. Prior to 1952, they were the ethnic majority of Dalu but because of Chen’s and the Nationalist’s insistence that Bai Lung should only be occupied by the Bai Lungese, they ordered a mass purge of the people. At one point, their population reached 50 million but since the purge ordered by Chen which meant anyone on that ethnic group had to be executed. The current estimated population is somewhere between 15 million. Much of their food relies on raising livestock. The language is called Kashgari, a language distantly related to Dannsitrian but with Russian influences. Many words are borrowed from Dannistrian but each word is tonal, like with Chinese. There are 4 tones in total like with Mandarin.

The Nanrens (literally: Southern People) are an ethnic group native to the islands occupied by the Bai Lungese. In my NSWiki article, I’ve referred to them as the natives. They were supposedly killed by the Bai Lungese’s ancestors (Koreans, then Chinese) but it seems they’re breeding underground to avoid extinction. At the height of their populous, they’ve reached 20 million. Today’s estimated population ranges from 5-7 million. Referred to as Nanrenians to the western world, their language Nanrenese, is a language also related to Dannistrian. Like with Kashgari, it is a tonal language but it has more than Kashgari with a total of 6.

Ethnic tensions in mainland territories and governing island worsen as Kashgar insurgents kidnap official.

Violence in Mao island and the mainland territories have escalated as more shops continue to be looted by ethnic Nanren and Kashgar groups respectively and there has been no signs of the unrest coming to an end.

Bai Lungese have simply responded to the attack by initiating a riot of their own as they marched through the ethnic enclaves of both Kashgar and Nanren residents. Both have suffered heavy losses but is the two ethnic minorities who have suffered the heaviest casualties of the riots with an estimated 117 killed.

In the mainland territories, Kashgar insurgents have sent a video to acting interim admin Richard Im, claiming they have kidnapped a Xinjiang official and they will behead him if his government do not give back their land and to remove all Bai Lungese living in the mainland territories. The hostage takers have given Mr Im 72 hours to respond before they carry out their threat. The final moments of the footage showed the hockey mask wearing kidnappers showing the official’s face before the viewers.

Mr Im has condemned the kidnapping but is willing to negotiate with the group if the unrest comes to an end sooner rather than later. By contrast, rival candidate Stephen T. Ding has criticised Mr Im for his soft approach and has called for the hostage takers to be found and punished severely.

Like with the hostage crisis at Li Mei last year, it is up to the Coocoostan government to intervene in the hostage crisis.

Kashgar insurgents: Deal or no deal.

The Kashgar insurgents who took a Bai Lungese official in the mainland capital Xinjiang have released another video, re-affirming their intentions to behead the official by Sunday morning. They pointed out that they will not offer a compromising deal.

The official is identified as Wang Dae Ming, a 59 year old councilor working in the North Xinjiang metropolitan area. He was reported missing on Thursday when he drove back home after seeing his mother. Police have was reported that a green van t-boned Mr Huang’s car, causing to roll a few times. The masked kidnappers took Mr Huang out of his car and bundled him into their van where they drove him in an undisclosed location.

The video, which is spoken in Kashgari, gives a detailed proposals of what they want from the Im cabinet. Referring to these proposals as stages, the Kashgar kidnappers demanded that the Im cabinet must reach an agreement to announce the repatriation of over 600 million Bai Lungese living in the territories by Sunday 9.00 AM.

The 2nd stage is carrying out the repatriation of the 600 million Bai Lungese living in the territories. They claim that the deadline for this stage must be met by 18th April. The Kashgar insurgents never made any mention of how the Bai Lungese should leave the mainland.

They claim that the 3rd stage will be hiring Bai Lungese workers to demolish all the buildings constructed by the Bai Lungese over the last century including all of the national treasures found there. They claim a deadline of this stage will be met by 1st May.

A 4th stage consist of establishing a Republic of Kashgarstan, a highly controversial name used by the ethnic minority and is a name not recognised by the world.

A 5th and final stage is the supposed release of Mr Wang, who they claim, will be transported by a rocket.

Acting interim admin Richard Im criticised the demands made by the Kashgars.

— Begin quote from ____

“The demands made by the kidnappers is an outrageous exercise to provoke the people of Bai Lung by giving unrealistic and unpractical dates to removal all Bai Lungese within a short alloted time. That would not be possible to achieve as it would require all the boats, planes and vehicles in the world to displace 600 million residents and even so, it would require more than 3 months to achieve. There’s no way we can achieve that…”

-Richard Im

— End quote

The Coocoostan government, who is in-charge of the mainland territories, has yet to comment on the situation.

In related news, a shopping mall in Xin Sha Tien, Dalu, has been ram raided by Kashgar youths as ethnic clashes between them and the Bai Lungese continues. A man had died in the ram raid.

Kashgar insurgents behead official on video.

Kashgar insurgents have behead Xinjiang official Wang Dae Ming shortly after the deadline has fell through, the Im cabinet has confirmed.

The video was presented to Mr Im just hours after Mr Wang was beheaded. In the video, they delivered a word of prayer before graphically beheading Mr Wang with a scimitar. The executioner held Mr Wang’s severed head and warned of more kidnappings like this one. The video ends with a montage of various buildings in Bai Lung on fire. The Im cabinet has sent their condolences to both the family of Mr Wang and to his colleagues, who they called him a “gentle soul, 100% committed to working in Bai Lung Dalu.”

Despite the unfortunate loss of Mr Wang, acting inteirm admin Richard Im defended his decision by negotiating with the insurgents themselves. He pointed out it was their unwillingness not to engage in peaceful dialogue with the Bai Lungese.

— Begin quote from ____

“My decision to negotiate with the captors, is by far the most viable outcome of this situation. It was the fault of the Kashgars by their refusal not to give second thoughts into this crisis. I offer them peaceful dialogue and they gave me a torpedo of wanton destruction.”

— End quote

It is currently unknown whether Mr Wang’s body has been dumped in the mainland territories.

In related news, shortly after the beheading of Mr Wang, a large scale race riot took place 5 miles north of Xinjiang, killing 2,506 people most of whom are Kashgars. The riot occurred in retaliation of Mr Wang’s murder.

4 Bai Lungese prisoners involved in altercation with Kelssek prison.

4 Bai Lungese prisoners detained at Burnaby prison in Kelssek have been involved in an altercation with a prison guard. Details of the incident are scarce but Kelssek police have confirmed an incident involving 4 men and a prison guard has taken place and all the men have been escorted back to their cells but they have refused to say who started the altercation first.

It is widely believed that the 4 men detained at Burnaby prison are the same men who assaulted former interim admin Chiba Seto in Burnaby International airport last month but Kelssek police neither confirm nor deny this.

Chiba Seto suspect dies in police custody. Anti-Kelssek riots in Bai Lung causes BL$55 million worth of damages.

One of 5 suspects arrested for assaulting former interim admin Chiba Seto in Burnaby International Airport, has died in police custody.

Information released by Kelssek police has confirmed several inmates of Bai Lungese origin have been involved in a violent scuffle with prison guards and efforts to quell the prison riot have resulted in the death of 1 man.

The inmate believed to have died in custody is 89 year old Jin In Guo, a naturalised Kelssekian citizen since 1945. Born in New Daegu, Mr Jin left Bai Lung after Japanese army invaded the country and raped various women. According to a historian, Mr Jin’s oldest sister, who was 25 at the time, was one of the rape victims. Mr Jin left the country on the same year and spent the next 7 decades in Burnaby. He married another Bai Lungese woman and had 1 son, 58 year old Jin Ho Bing.

It is widely reported that Jin In Guo took his son, his 44 year old nephew and his 24 and 27 year old grandsons with him to Burnaby International Airport were they encountered former interim admin Chiba Seto and assaulted him.

Acting Interim Admin Richard Im has condemned the incident but he has called for closer cooperation between the Bai Lungese and Kelssekian authorities to help ease tensions between the two communities. He also called for Pierre Gautain to apologise for the incident “as soon as possible”:

— Begin quote from ____

“The damage has been done but we can help repair the gashing wound caused by this incident with Pierre Gautain to apologise for what happened. I don’t expect an immediate apology but it would be in his best interest to write one as soon as possible. The Bai Lungese and Kelssekians will be working closely together to solve the problem.”

-Richard Im

— End quote

While the Bai Lungese community in Kelssek has shown restraint, their native counterparts did not exercise the same actions as millions marched in the streets of Pyongjing today, burning effigies of PM Gautain and the flag of Kelssek as well as chanting out anti-Kelssek slogans and smashing up shops that sell Kelssek goods. Several people have called for the boycott of all Kelssek goods and opposing the sending of troops to the mainland territories, a stance supported by Chiba Seto and Richard Im.

Richard Im announces postponement of election.

Acting interim admin Richard Im (Pictured above) has announced today that the interim admin election is to be postponed.

The move comes 20 minutes before the polling stations are scheduled to be opened on 0800 EPT today but Mr Im cited problems at the mainland territories and Mao island are the primary factors of why he chose to cancel the election. He has moved the election to 6th May.

— Begin quote from ____

“The problem in Dalu and governing Mao island is proven to be untenable for the officials. The beheading of an official has been a traumatic experience for everyone and I wish to respect their peace by giving them a chance to recover before they’ve regain the strength to vote for their leader. On 6th May, that will be the day when the people choose their leader and by then, the situation will die down.”

-Richard Im

— End quote

On the same day of the re-scheduled interim admin election, ethnic Kashgars will vote for their Kashgarstan Réspublikarsi Présitént or President of the Republic of Kashgarstan, a spiritual leader amongst the Kashgars and de facto president of the mainland territories. The current leader is Tentsin Farabhazi*, who was elected in 2004 secretly during the Chenite regime. Mr Farabhazi has announced today that he will seek re-election and if re-elected, it would be his final term as leader as the leader may only serve 2 terms maximum of 4 years each under the Kashgar constitution.

Many Kashgars do not recognise the status of Interim Admin because they refuse to be ruled by a Bai Lungese after 5 decades of occupation.

Interim admin candidate Stephen T. Ding called the Kashgar election “a publicity stunt to promote Kashgar independence” and at the same time, criticised Richard Im for moving the interim admin election date to 6th May calling it “cowardly” and “a last minute attempt to grab power for as long as he can hold it.”

A defender of Mr Im, Wang Joon Jin, called Mr Ding an opportunist with no real agenda.

OOC Note: Tentsin Farabhazi is pronounced Ten-Shin Far-a-bar-zee.

Weapons found in mainland monasteries.

Weapons and explosives have been found in 11 Bischkeck monasteries in New Gansu, north east of the mainland.

The items were discovered in the past two days in monsteries in the Gannan province. The NBLPF has discovered 3 rifles, 571 bullets, 10kg of dynamite, 5 detonators and 38 satellite receivers in 11 key monasteries in Jone and Xiahe counties.

Bischkeckism is the religion practiced by virtually all Kashgars. They are expected to worship 5 times a day in a Kashgar approved monastery to a god named Bischkeck. It is widely believed to be a heavily modified form of Hal’vonism, which the latter was introduced to the Kashgars by Dannistrian explorers almost 5 centuries ago. Surprisingly, none of the monasteries are levelled to the ground by either the Nationalist or Stalinist rule as they nearly resembled their Buddhist counterparts.

In mid-March, Kashgars started a violent uprising to commemorate the 49th anniversary of the bloody uprising against Bai Lungese occupation. Kashgar leaders say more than 3,500 people died in the riots but NBLPF say only 170 people died, and blames the unrest on Kashgar rioters.

Police have arrested 52 suspects in the sting operations, for conspiring to blow up key Bai Lungese landmarks in the mainland. All of the suspects detained by police are ethnic Kashgars.

Both Kashgar and Bai Lungese leaders have accused one another for the incident. Acting interim admin Richard Im has publicly expresses his concerns with the amount of arms and explosives found in these monasteries. He commended the police for their quick response. He has called for the Kashgars to cooperate with the Bai Lungese people.

— Begin quote from ____

“This is the stage where both sides must sit and down and engage in peaceful dialogue. I will not tolerate the notion of mass murder for an unjustified cause. At the same time, I condemn my people’s actions for stabbing every last ethnic Kashgar they see…”

-Richard Im

— End quote

Meanwhile, spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi has accused Mr Im of framing his people by allegedly sending NBLPF to place arms and explosives inside the monasteries and arresting the clerics without a warrant.

— Begin quote from ____

“Mr Im’s disgraceful acts should be condemned by the international community immediately! The Kashgar people never store weapons and or explosives in our sacred monasteries, it was the work of Mr Im by sending the police to store these in our holy places. Then he would arrest the innocent clerics, and brutally beat them to a confession for something they would not have done. All this can be conducted without a warrant! The Kashgar people must have justice! This ghastly man and his filthy and bowderlised lies must be exposed to the worldwide media and lets see who’s the real monster now!”

-Tentsin Farabhazi

— End quote

When asked about the beheading of a Bai Lungese official, Mr Farabhazi has publicly said that he did not condone the beheading but gave a cryptic warning to Mr Im that peace can not be restored unless “the one sitting on the seat the longest, must relinquish it to the ones in need.”

Suicide gas girl affect dozens of residents.

A teenager has committed suicide by mixing common household cleaners, releasing fumes that made dozens of people sick, the NBLPF said.

About 100 people in Jiangnan, west Liu Xu province, have fled their homes after smelling the toxic hydrogen sulphide the 14 year old girl had made. Since the fall of both Nationalist and Chenite regimes, the availability of the internet has sky rocketed in Bai Lung over the course of 9 months. This has came at a serious cost as there have been a spate of similar suicides since details of the technique were posted on the internet.

Despite the fall of the Chenite regime, Bai Lung has one of the highest suicide rates in the world. At least 2 million people have killed themselves annually since 2000, according to national statistics.

The unidentified girl in Jiangnan city left a note on the bathroom door of her family’s flat saying “poison gas being produced”.

About 90 neighbours went to hospital feeling ill, including the girl’s mother, who was out of the flat during the suicide but later returned. Most people complained of sore throats but none was severely ill.

NBLPF said the teenager mixed detergent with a liquid cleanser to make hydrogen sulphide. The gas is colourless but produces a rotten egg like smell and is highly toxic, which can lead to brain damage and or suffocation.

In small doses, it leave people with sore throats, nausea and irritated eyes.

Acting interim admin Richard Im has set a goal of cutting the country’s high suicide rate, through counselling programmes and blocking websites that condone suicide.

Marcel Chen wins BL$3 million in compensation after suing BLCTV News for libel informations.

Controversial film director Marcel Chen has won a lawsuit against BLCTV News and was awarded BL$3 million in compensation.

The lawsuit amid a controversy regarding Marcel Chen’s ventures to Kelssek where he allegedly head butted a patron at a bar in Neorvins. Mr Chen was arrested and charged for the incident but BLCTV News gave a false report explicitly explaining that Mr Chen was to be re-tried at Kelssek after the government felt the previous sentence was too lenient.

Last month, Mr Chen announced that he would be suing BLCTV News for defamation.

Speaking at the Pyongjing court, Mr Chen said that he was 100% satisfied with the amount of money he received.

BREAKING NEWS: Train crash kills dozens of people.

At least 70 people have been killed and 400 more injured, the majority of them seriously, after a collision between two passsenger train crash in Central-North Bai Lung.

A train travelling from Pyongjing to the popular summer resort of Chen Tai Soon derailed and hit the other, which was going from Po Li to New Incheon. Nine coaches of New Incheon-bound train toppled into a ditch after the crash, outside Zibo city in Tien Shan province. Just hours after the crash happened, an inquiry concluded it was caused by human error.

Two senior railway officials have been sacked and arrested for their role in the crash. They are expected to be charged with gross negligence.

The incident is the worst in the country since 2000, when 195 people were killed when two trains collided in south Dokwai province.

Today’s crash happened on 0443 EPT at a bend in the tracks in the suburbs of Zibo metropolitan area, about 23 miles north east of Pyongjing. Both are the passenger trains are likely to have been operating at high speed at the time of the collision, railway workers said.

It remains unclear what cause the 1st train to derail and its carriages to topple into a ditch while the 2nd train was also derailed, but remained upright.

Witnesses said many passengers climbed out of the wreckage and wrapped themselves in blankets from the sleeper cars to protect against the early morning chill.

At least 70 of the 400 injured are in a critical condition. 2 Dannistrian nationals are also amongst the injured with bone fractures.

The country has a reputation for its poor safety record in rail transport since Stalinist rule, with an average of 30 major train crashes per year. The Secretary of Transportation Wang Joon-Jin, has vowed to improve the safety standards for rail travel and to severely punish any railway official abide to the proposed safety standards.

Nanren and Kashgar spiritual leaders appeal for calm and demand talks with Richard Im.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/85/Tenzin_Gyatzo_foto_1.jpg/200px-Tenzin_Gyatzo_foto_1.jpg
The 14th Dahniar Laahm (Pictured above) and Tentsin Farabhazi (Pictured below), the spiritual leaders for the Nanrens and Kashgars respectively, have called for an end to the on going ethnic rioting between them and Bai Lungese which has left several thousands dead and millions worth of damages caused.

Speaking in Coocoobad, Coocoostan, the Dahniar Laahm spoke out against acting interim admin Richard Im’s aggressive policing measures to crack down on the riots, arresting Nanrens in particular. He also accused Mr Im for letting the riot continue and only releasing the police after the carnage is seemingly coming to an end and went as far as to call the incident ‘cultural genocide’.

— Begin quote from ____

“I am genuinely stunned by Mr Im’s handling of the riots. It’s absolutely heavy handed and staged by this shambles of a government. When we need the police to calm down the intense rioting, they don’t show up. When my people are practically on their knees, they show up and beat my people to near death, often leaving with severe trauma to the head and refusing to look at the real cause behind this riot: the Bai Lunge people. Not one Bai Lungese rioter has been arrested. He has used this political turmoil as a tool to improve his overall image to the Bai Lungese people. He has committed the inexcusable acts of cultural genocide. It’s about time to stop this hullabaloo perpetuated by the [Im] administration to an end soon and without further violence.”

-Tausin Giatsu, the 14th Dahniar Laahm

— End quote

The Dahniar Laahm has ruled out the possibility of gaining independence from the Bai Lung administration but instead proposal a compromise of allowing greater levels of autonomy and for the interim administration to relinquish at least 33% of Mao island to the Nanrens. Although he did not set a deadline for these proposals, he has called for the move to give the Nanrens greater autonomy “sooner rather than later”.

Kashgar spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi, has further condemned Mr Im by accusing him of promoting a Holocaust of the 21st century. He has called for an end to Bai Lungese occupation of the mainland territories.

— Begin quote from ____

“Mr Im’s conspiring to remove an entire race with the click of his finger. No, I won’t tolerate a new age Holocaust. He has failed in his plan to prosecute a large [portion] of my people by planting guns and explosives in our sacred monasteries in a desperate attempt to keep us under control. That has failed and now Mr Im is initiating his ultimate plan: to wipe us all out by spreading a bad image of the Kashgars. We must regain the lands we’ve owned centuries ago and repatriate all Bai Lungese peacefully sooner rather than later. That’s the best way to achieve tranquility in this country.”

-Tentsin Farabhazi

— End quote

Mr Im has made a number of counter criticisms to both parties who have accused him for his heavy handed role in the riots. He sharply criticised the Nanrens for their role in March’s riots as well as the Dahniar Laahm’s reluctance to make public appearances. He criticised Mr Farabhazi’s reluctance to talk to the captors of Wang Dae Ming who was beheaded days after his capture and for allegedly advocating violence against the Bai Lunge people as a whole. Over a week ago, the NBLPF has found stacks of explosives and weapons in the Kashgar monasteries and has arrested 52 suspects.

— Begin quote from ____

“As for Mr Farabhazi, he is acting rather irrationally about the alleged plot to frame the Kashgars [by planting exploisives in their monasteries] totally absurd. When forensics took a closer examination of the explosives, they have found fingerprints matching that of the Kashgars. It is them who are conspiring to terrorise the country.”

-Richard Im

— End quote

Mr Im however, is willing to hold peaceful talks with the two parties, although not in person due to a number of commitments. This is seen as a personal snub by the two spiritual leaders. Mr Farabhazi in particular, has accused Mr Im of employing cowardly tactics to avoid speaking to the Kashgar leader, face to face.

— Begin quote from ____

“He’s asking me to meet one of his aids? That’s inexcusable! I want to see the man himself not a figurehead who is merely limited to the words spoken by Mr Im on the days before. He is not facing his own problems he has caused in Kashgarstan from day one.”

-Tentsin Farabhazi

— End quote

Rival interim admin candidate Stephen T. Ding accused Mr Im of shying away from a perfect opportunity to restore race relations between the two ethnic minorities.

— Begin quote from ____

“The schedule conflicts is an unconvincing smoke screen for a much darker problem for Mr Im. My rival is determined to grab onto power with sheer determination and for as long as he can stomach it. He has simply bitten more than he can chew…”

-Stephen T. Ding

In related news, Xinjiang mayor Bai Myong Mun has escaped an assassination attempt after radical Kashgar insurgents fired shots at the podium where Mr Bai gave a speech to coincide with the liberation of Bai Lung a year ago. Bodyguards took the 72 year old to his bulletproof limousine where he was taken back to his hotel. He is reported to have been mildly shaken from the incident but suffered no injuries. However, 2 people were shot in the legs but not fatally. Both men have been taken to hospital shortly. The NBLPF have arrested 3 Kashgar men for their alleged role in their failed assassination of Mr Bai.

Richard Im criticises Kashgar spiritual leader’s “New age holocaust” comment. Im calls for apology or “I will call for military action”.

Acting Interim Admin Richard Im (Pictured above) has called for military action upon Kashgar spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi’s over allegedly inflammatory and racist comments he gave in a Kashgari language news channel.

Last week, Mr Farabhazi gave an interview on Kashgar run News channel Trad about Mr Im’s alleged mistreatment of the Kashgars. Giving his views on the recent racial riots around the same the Dahniar Laahm gave his comments on the rioting, Mr Farabhazi likened the killing of his people to the holocaust. Speaking at
the National Bai Lung Democracy Memorial Hall, Mr Im gave his own reply and by his own admission, failed to noticed the holocaust comment at first.

— Begin quote from ____

“My secretary only gave me part of what Mr Farabhazi said, particularly about wishing for independence. She basically sent me a small message with selected quotations from Mr Farabhazi. I was a bit dubious by what he said. With the help of a translator, I requested a recording of Mr Farabhazi’s interview from KITele [Kashgar Independent Television]. The next day, I got an unadulterated 10 minute interview of Mr Farabhazi. My translator then said ‘Oh my god, that man is calling the riots a new holocaust’. At that point I was deeply offended by his defamatory comments…”

— End quote

Mr Im accused Mr Farabhazi of implying that he is likened to being Hitler because of his new age holocaust comment.

— Begin quote from ____

“With no shed of doubt, I am personally and deeply offended by the comments given [by Mr Farabhazi]. He is basically implying that I’m somehow the new [Adolf] Hitler and that I’ve concocted a new age Holocaust to remove all Kashgar in order to keep the lands exclusively Bai Lungese. Simply put, his comments do not help to resolve the matter amongst the ethnic tension between the Bai Lungese and the Kashgars and it shows further proof that the Kashgars are willing to wage a war against my people by using highly provactive language.”

— End quote

On Mr Farabhazi’s comments on independence, Im explained the only way to get it if they become the ruling government under his reforms to introduce a parliamentary system.

— Begin quote from ____

“If Mr Farabhazi is desperate in seeking independence promptly, then he has to do a lot of convincing to the ethnic majority to vote for whatever party advocates such a movement. When I will introduce a parliamentary style system, it will allow the Kashgars to run for government should win the popular vote.”

— End quote

Mr Im has called for Mr Farabhazi to apologise for the comments.

— Begin quote from ____

“Being a sensible person, I will allow Mr Farabhazi a second chance by offering him to publicly apologising for his racist language within a week. If he does so, I will consider meeting him face to face in return for his patient demeanor. If he fails to do so, I will call for military action in the mainland territories…”

-Richard Im

— End quote

Since the fall of the Chenite regime, the interim admin cabinet has been relying on importing military equipment from various countries, in particular Dannistaan.

Shortly learning of this ultimatum, Mr Farabhazi himself claims that he will not withdraw the comments, calling Mr Im’s alleged authoritarian behaviour, further justifying his cause for independence.

— Begin quote from ____

“With the threatening actions made by the figurehead leader over a petty comment I’ve made, it is another reason why my people are asking for an independent Kashgarstan from our colonial, racist and sinister rulers and they absolutely deserve it to the fullest. Despite what he may think, prosecuting my people at random and sending his storm-troopers to every last Kashgar home is not a sign of progress for racial harmony.”

— End quote

Despite not calling for the Dahniar Laahm to apologise for his cultural genocide comment, Mr Farabhazi called Mr Im “double standard” for not threatening military action against the Nanren spiritual leader.

— Begin quote from ____

“This man is another Charles Darwin. He hand picks who survives and who doesn’t. His double standard theory of evolution primarily consists of killing off one species and letting another thrive. The latter being Bai Lungese. Perhaps, he would like to limit the number of Nanren as well. Basically put, the Nanren talks about cultural genocide and Im does nothing. However, when I make a reference to the holocaust, he goes totally ballistic and is threatening to dump a 500lb bomb on my head for that. This is a double standard farce I will no longer tolerate right now…”

-Tentsin Farabhazi

— End quote

The Dahniar Laahm’s spokeman also spoke out against Mr Im’s aggressive actions and defending Mr Farabhazi’s comments.

— Begin quote from ____

“His Holiness [The Dahniar Laahm], has defend the comments by Mr Farabhazi. They are his honest outline of what is really going on out there and it’s a very violent one. Mr Farabhazi just wishes to put the blood shed to a halt and therefore avert a grand scale ethnic cleansing. By talking about the holocaust, his views is supposed to raise awareness of what is really going on in Bai Lung.”

-Glytamo Siamioluta

— End quote

Public reaction to Mr Im’s comments is met with huge enthusiasm, a rarity when it comes to political issues. According to a local newspaper, of those who took part in a poll, 93% agreed with Mr Im’s comments while 65% are calling for immediate military action against the Kashgars.

One of 5 people who assaulted former interim admin Chiba Seto has hung himself in police custody.

22 year old Jin Ai Wook was found dead in his cell last week with his prison uniform acting as an improvised noose wrapped around his neck. Prison guards also found writing in his cell in Chinese. It reportedly read “F*** You” as a possible defiance against the Kelssekian laws.

Richard Im expressed his regret to the Kelssekian government, insisting that the trial will continue as long as the remaining 3 is still alive.

After moving the election date for the second time from 6th May to 12th May, acting interim admin Richard Im has announced the election will go ahead, amid a wave of accusations of Im dithering about to grab onto power.

Polls are due to be opened at 0800 EPT on Monday and will close at 2200 EPT. While opinion polls clearly show Mr Im in the lead by a huge majority of 80-90% intending to vote for Im, rival candidate Stephen T. Ding is convinced he will win by a shock victory.

Voting count underway: Richard Im tipped to win.

http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/728/ballot0311ij1.jpg
With polling stations closed at 2200 EPT Monday, volunteers are still counting the millions of marked papers to determine who will be the 4th elected interim admin of Bai Lung.

Turnout is said to be one of the highest in recent memory with an estimated 72% voter turnout, second only to the election in June last year when Kim Ki Moon faced rival Yao Mao. The turnout at the time was 76%. As the result are slowly trickling in, acting interim admin Richard Im is tipped to be the winner in the latest contest to be the 4th interim admin, excluding all acting predecessors. Various newspapers have given Mr Im a huge margin over his rival Stephen T. Ding with averages of 70-95% in favour of Mr Im.

Some political commentators have claimed that Mr Im’s strong stance against the ethnic Kashgars and Nanren is a major factor behind Mr Im’s victory. His statement to put military action against the two groups is met with near universal praise, particularly conservatives.

Officials are uncertain as to when the results will be announced but they claim no later than Friday.

Stephen T. Ding: I could win interim admin election.

Interim admin candidate Stephen T. Ding (Pictured above) remains convinced that he could win the next interim admin election, despite newspapers hinting Richard Im as the clear victor.

Speaking to BLCTV News exclusively, he reminded the people that they should take what the newspapers say with a pinch of salt.

— Begin quote from ____

“This is the major fundamental flaw with newspapers. They have a propensity to produce results that have the potential to mislead and bait the audience in a false sense of hope and that is the really hurtful part in this political labyrinth. The people lose and the papers are the genuine winners. Why should you believe what the majority of newspapers say about [Richard] Im winning. 70%? 95%? A results of 51/49 is a much more realistic scale as elections like these are a dividing issue. Some say yes while others will not agree with their views. In my opinion, they should take what the papers say with a pinch of salt. Too much isn’t good for you. Ignoring what many of the papers say, I am really convinced that I could win the next interim admin election and I will attain this shock victory.”

-Stephen T. Ding

— End quote

A spokesman for Mr Im simply replied that Mr Ding serves no interest for the general public other than to grab power.

Kashgar spiritual leader recovering from mugging.

The Kashgar spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi (Pictured above) has shown improvements in his overall condition despite being fatally stabbed in the lung by an unidentified man, two days ago.

The 63 year old will no longer be monitored under intense care after surgeons successfully removed the serrated knife from Mr Farabhazi’s chest and stitched his wounds. Despite the miraculous recovery, doctors say the Kashgar spiritual leader has to wear an artificial lung for the rest of his life due to the punctured right lung which was caused by the attack.

Police has arrested a man matching the description made by a witness. They will have 72 hours to question him and charge him or release him.

Richard Im becomes 4th elected admin in landslide election.

After several months of setbacks, primarily consisting of finding a replacement interim admin after the prosecution of Kobayashi Taro over a rape of a young woman last year and acting interim admin after another retiring or sacked by colleagues, former councilman and ex-Secretary of the Interior Richard Im (Pictured above) has been chosen as the next interim of Bai Lung by the public.

Mr Im is the 4th elected interim admin in the country, after Wang Bin, Kim Ki Moon and Kobayashi Taro and is the 1st interim admin allegedly not to have Korean roots, something met with considerable criticism from hard core conservatives but his speech on the Kashgars has won the respects of hard line conservatives. He is also the first Roman Catholic leader in Bai Lung, a religion yet to be heard of.

Turnout is one of the highest in history at 70%, 15 points above the requirement to elect their leader. Some newspapers mistakenly gave the turnout as high as 98%.

After over 72 hours of vote counting and an incident in Sing Ren involving a man armed with a knife and gun threatening staff, causing delays in vote counting, the official results have been released on 0003 EPT by declaring Mr Im as the victor of this election by an overwhelming majority.

Mr Im won 92% of the vote while his rival candidate Stephen T. Ding only got 7%. The remaining 1% were abstentions or spoilt votes.

Mr Im gave his victory speech at the National Bai Lung Democracy hall by offering solace to his rival, hinting that he may offer the 48 year old lawyer a position in his cabinet. He also announces his intention to run a referendum whether the public should favour a parliamentary style government within weeks after his election.

— Begin quote from ____

“Now it is the time to give the people a true functioning government by starting a parliamentary government. The people can speak to an elected representative should they wish to bring up an issue. There will be 299 members of parliament, 243 of whom will be elected by first past the post and the other 56 by proportional representation.”

-Richard Im

— End quote

Under Mr Im’s proposals, people can vote for their 299 constituencies and they will be representing most of Bai Lung except in the southern parts of Mao island, were the Dovakhan government is currently under administration of. Of the 299, 243 is elected by first past the post while the remaining 56 is elected via proportional representation.

Mr Im also stated he will form a party named Bai Lung Labour Party and he will dissolve the cabinet after the referendum is passed. Like with the interim admin election, 55% turnout is required to successfully pass any referendum.

The results:

Richard Im - 92% (1,296,885,660)
Stephen T. Ding - 7% (98,676,082)
Spoiled votes - 1% (14,096,585)
Turnout (2.1 billion eligible voters) - 70% (1,409,658,327)

Stephen T. Ding: I demand a recount.

Interim admin candidate, Stephen T. Ding (Pictured above) has not conceded to defeat, despite losing the vote by a huge majority, and has called for the votes to be re-counted with the help of the high court.

Mr Ding did not congratulate Richard Im for his victory, but instead, sharply accused him of being a fraudster.

— Begin quote from ____

“Now is the time for the law abiding people to cast their votes. Why is that? Im is trying to gain power for as long as he can hold it and he holds the election later to woo people into thinking he is a fair and honest person. If he really is an honest person, why is the results not closer to 50/50? There is something very, very wrong here when the results say Im won all the votes. A re-count is an absolute necessity and I’m going to have to appeal to the high court about this and I would like to see this fraudster behind bars for promoting the very same autocratic regime we, as a the public, are trying to avert…”

-Stephen T. Ding

— End quote

When told he would get a job from Mr Im, Mr Ding turned down the offer and announced he will form the National Identity Party, which he claims is a party with socially conservative but economically liberal ideology as well as resigning as junior of the treasury.

Mr Im denies any allegations of vote rigging, insisting that votes are casted by those of the public and in no way did he play a part in the alleged vote tampering. Mr Im has accused Mr Ding repeatedly of scare mongering and scoring cheap political points. He also criticised Mr Ding of employing back-stabbing tactics.

— Begin quote from ____

“This is the same man who aided me in ousting Chiba Seto from office and now he is turning against me for the very same reasons. My goal is to eliminate the possibility of infighting within my government and Mr Ding has done nothing to help achieve the democracy we are trying to re-introduce back into this country. With that in mind, he is not a dutiful politician.”

-Richard Im

— End quote

Under the current constitution, it is possible for any politician to demand a re-count shortly after an election has been held. If successful, an election may be re-held within 3 weeks after the recall.

Kashgar spiritual leader wins vote.

Kashgar spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi defeated rivals Hunzhatzmu Tokamoraliv and Okshana Sardiyaev in the leadership contest.

Held on the same day as the interim admin election, Mr Farabhazi took 67% of the votes while Tokamoraliv and Sardiyaev won 21% and 12% respectively. The turnout is consistently high in the Kashgar election with a reported 91% voter turnout. The lowest turnout was in 2004 when 77% voted. Despite the attempted murder, Mr Farabhazi managed to speak to relatives since the attack and is said to be highly pleased with the results. As Mr Farabhazi already served a term already, he will be barred from serving a third term.

Richard Im has refused to recognise the election as a legitimate one, calling it a ‘publicity stunt for false hope’. Since the 10 day ultimatum has passed coupled with the fatal stabbing of Mr Farabhazi, Mr Im has ordered police to arrest him when he recovers fully.

NBLPF arrest 9 suspects conspiring to assassinate interim admin.

9 suspects were arrested in a suburb in northern Xinjiang, Bai Lung mainland in suspicion of plotting to assassinate newly elected interim admin Richard Im.

NBLPF conducted door-to-door raids in homes suspected to contain some of Bai Lung’s most dangerous terrorists during early hours of this morning. Police have reminded citizens in neighbouring areas not to panic over the noise. All 9 of the suspects are of Kashgar origin although police are looking for Bai Lungese collaborators as well.

In a house in Beichuan street which 3 of the 9 suspects appear to be residing, police have feared for the worst when they found several files on a laptop containing plans to assassinate interim admin Richard Im. One of several methods was to hijack a plane en route to Pyongjing and crash it into the presidential office building and thereby kill the 50 year old in the process. Other methods include rigging explosives on Mr Im’s private plane and detonating it in mid flight.

In the highly successful raids, police have seized dozens of empty bottles. a laptop containing the aformentioned files of the assassination plots, several copper wires, 5 gallons of hydrochloric acid, 20 kg of fertilisers, 3 plastic casings, 6 scimitars, 3 Bischkeck religious texts; with several pages cut out presumably to place the plastic casings inside of the books, and an empty duffel bag.

Mr Im has condemned the plotting of his assassination of him by the Kashgar suspects. He has released a brief statement, congratulating the police for their strenuous efforts to combat the emerging terrorism in the country, as well as appealing to the public to report any suspicious activities to the police ASAP.

Kashgar spiritual leader discharged from hospital.

The controversial, radical Kashgar spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi has been released from hospital following a near fatal stabbing last month.

Doctors are satisfied that Mr Farabhazi’s health has improved significantly over the course of 4 weeks. Within a week after the stabbing, Mr Farabhazi was no longer in need of a mechanical ventilator. On May 20th, a man was charged for assault when he was seen turning off Mr Farabhazi’s ventilator, followed by attempting to strangulate him. Ma Shin Ae was charged with assault but has no links with Mr Farabhazi’s stabbing last month. Mr Ma later hanged himself while in police custody on June 2nd.

Reporters and thousands of Mr Farabhazi’s supporters gathered outside the Deng Oh hospital. Mr Farabhazi waved at the crowd but did not speak as he made his way to his limo. Doctors warned him that he is to avoid strenuous exercising as his artificial lung is not designed to withstand overtly aggressive activities.

Interim Admin will bring forward 2 important referenda.

Interim Admin Richard Im has made plans to put two referenda which could be seen a landmark for democracy in Bai Lung.

Last month, Mr Im promised that if elected, he would put a parliamentary style government, replacing the current interim admin cabinet. The radical shake-up in the government is a response to the lack of progress in democracy as well as the on-going clashes between the Bai Lungese and Kashgar and Nanren groups. The other proposal made by Mr Im is to replace the current constitution instigated by late former dictator Chen Jong Sun with an all new version reflecting the democracy in the country.

Currently, all laws are decided by a team of 30 politicians. Judiciary system is extremely limited in power and as a result of this, any laws passed in the country will potentially collide with parts of the constitution, most notably the right to free speech. It is likely that Mr Im will hold the referenda sometime in mid to late July.

BREAKING NEWS: Knifing spree kills 7 people.

A man armed with a knife has killed has killed 7 people and injured 10 others in east Pyongjing, police have said.

The incident happened in the Qiūyèyuán district, a busy shopping area known as Electric Town that is very popular with young people.

The suspect, 25 year old Jiā Téng (Pictured above) has been arrested. Police spokesman Cheng An Yuán told reporters that:

— Begin quote from ____

“The suspect we have apprehended had came to the Qiūyèyuán district with intent to kill as many people in the quickest time possible. The suspect has confessed to the police that he was fed up of life.”

-Cheng An Yuán

The dead include six men, ranging from age 18 to 74 and a 21 year old woman, Xinhua Bai Lung has confirmed. Eyewitness reports says the suspect drove a rented truck into a crowd in the afternoon and then knifing people at random.

Morgan Oh’barhm’a, a Dannistrian man working in Bai Lung, got to the area shortly after the stabbings. He described the scene to BLCTV News as ‘bloody’:

— Begin quote from ____

"As I walked down the street, I noticed there were an entire squad of police units wandering around the streets. I though to myself: ‘Oh goodness me! This is not good news’. I noticed there was a young man lying on the ground with tape on his eyes and blood pouring out of his neck. I was sickened by this. I could see total collateral damage out there. Bodies after bodies. Some alive, some dead, others half-conscience lying by the side of the road. There were a lot of people everywhere, a crowd of onlookers like myself. This is a very bloody scene and unequivocally, this is the most shocking scenes I have ever come across. The bloodied bodies brings back the images of dead bodies from the [Dannistrian] civil war.

-Morgan Oh’barhm’a

Another witness, who does not wish to be named, re-called how the suspect ran over a victim and knifed him several times.

— Begin quote from ____

“The man jumped on top of the man he had run over with his vehicle and stabbed him several time. Walking toward Qiūyèyuán station, he stabbed nearby people at random.”

-Unnamed witness

The stabbing spree witnessed in Pyongjing is not the first to happen and will not be the last. Although extremely rare during Stalinist rule, violent crime has made a pronounced impact in Bai Lungese society, especially with the loss of former dictator Chen Jong Sun. In 2006, there was only 15 murders in the country under the dictatorship. The figures have risen sharply to 6,000 murders every month since the murder tally started in June last year.

In January, a 22 year old man armed with two switch blades attacked several people in a crowded shopping street in Pyongjing’s Pǐnchuang district. 3 people died in the attack.

The Qiūyèyuán attack occurred on the same date that a man with a history of mental illness went a primary school in 2001, stabbing children at random. He was subsequently executed by ISB.

Interim admin Richard Im has condemned the killing spree perpetuated by Mr Jiā. He vows to put tougher measures against those who commit acts of random murder.

— Begin quote from ____

“The heinous acts of stabbing random, innocent people on the basis of feeling hopeless in life is totally unacceptable. I am calling for tough measures to be placed under the new Bai Lung government against anyone who goes on a killing spree like the one we have witnessed today. The taking of lives, no matter how personal or impersonal, has no place in Bai Lung nor anywhere else.”

— End quote

Mr Im has called for 2 days of mourning following the stabbing frenzy.

Stephen T. Ding: Richard Im must permit GM foods to be grown.

Defeated interim admin candidate Stephen T. Ding (Pictured above) has called for Interim Admin Richard Im to push forward legislation for GM crops to be cultivated nationwide.

Speaking at the Bai Lung Food Concern in Pyongjing, Mr Ding has been applying pressure to the Mr Im, who has since took power last month, to give the green light to cultivate GM crops nationwide once Mr Im successfully implements a parliamentary style government through the passing of his two important referenda. Mr Ding has made claims that growing GM crops will stop the famine and food crisis in the country.

— Begin quote from ____

“The current situation in the Free Republic of Bai Lung is now becoming increasingly salient. Statistics conducted by various independent sources, indicated that the threat of starvation amongst the general populous is becoming increasingly and dangerously high. In 2007, 52% of the population do not have access to the most basic foods, bread, corn, rice. In a space of only one year, that number has sky rocketed to 70% and that number is not going down until we make some drastic actions to stop our children starving on a day to day basis. We need to start the cultivation of GM crops to stop the food crisis from erupting into new, unfathomable levels. Within 10 years, nearly 98.7% of the population will face starvation.”

— End quote

Mr Ding blamed Mr Im’s proposals for introducing universal health care, linking it to the recent food crisis.

— Begin quote from ____

“Mr Im’s attempts to bring universal health care to every citizen in Bai Lung has came at a very dear price. First of all, I am the first person to publicly say that Mr Im’s actions have done a lot more harm than good. His free health care for all people means that they need to find a way to recuperate the cost for providing such a generous hospitality. He has to sell the food which could’ve been easily used to feed the people and avert this food crisis. He would then charge us more tax in return for the hospitality. Talk about generosity…”

-Stephen T. Ding

— End quote

Although Mr Im did not give a personal reply, but his spokesman, Wu Tang Na condemned Mr Ding’s comments for being “partisan and callous”.

45 people, all who are of Bai Lungese origin and is believed to have been associated with the Red Rabbit gang, have been charge in connection of the find.

Police believe gangs based in Dannistaan have switched their focus to native Bai Lung.

— Begin quote from ____

“Police believe these factories are linked to organised crime. These organised crime gangs have turned their attention from Dannistaan to Bai Lung, presumably they though they wouldn’t get caught, especially with the fall of the Stalinist era. They were wrong. We believe the cannabis is being cultivated here for distribution outside of Bai Lung. the investigation is still ongoing with a number of other agencies to determine the scale and extent of the network.”

-Cheng An Yuán

A total of 55 properties were searched as part of an operation dating back to early this year which resulted in 60 arrests.

Officers recovered 14,5000 cannabis plants with an estimated BL$7.3m and 113 kilos of herbal cannabis with a street value of BL$1.1m. The cannabis was being grown in rented house across central and southern Bai Lung.

Police have also seized BL$120,000 in cash as well as substantial amounts of cannabis growing equipment.

Richard Im appoints Ling Wei as new depute interim admin.

Richard Im has chosen maverick Chenite veteran Ling Wei (Pictured above) to become the new depute interim admin.

This means that 50 year old Kurosawa Aya has been sacked from the job and replaced with the 70 year old veteran politician. Ms Kurosawa served the role as interim admin for the past 6 months under former interim admin Chiba Seto. The move is part of a radical shake up with in the interim admin cabinet in preparation to the upcoming referenda in July which could see the formation of a separate legislative body if they are successful.

Ms Kurosawa, aged 44, told reporters that she was mildly disappointed with her sacking but nonetheless, has respected the decisions made by Mr Im.

— Begin quote from ____

“I’m mildly disappointed by my abrupt sacking, it is something that came by surprise. However, the decision made by Mr Im is simply for the best of the country and I totally defend his decision to install an older, wiser politician to aid in the democratisation of Bai Lung.”

In related news, Richard Im has no current plans to put forward legislation to ease restrictions on the cultivation of GM crops. According to his spokesman, he has totally ruled out the possibility to draft a bill in the foreseeable future.
