BREAKING NEWS: Kashgar man runs down three people with bulldozer.

A Kashgar man has driven a bulldozer into a bus and several cars in the mainland capital of Xinjiang, killing 3 people and injuring dozens of people, before being shot dead.

An undercover police officer shot the driver of the bulldozer dead after a brief struggle in the vehicle’s cab. Police have said the attacker, aged 35, was from East Xinjiang, with no known links to Kashgar militant groups. They named him as Bozynskiantcia Kosharamanarov*, and said officers had been gathering evidence at his address in the Gong Bai neighbourhood.

NBLPF said the attacker was working for a construction firm laying the foundations for a new railway system.

According to several eye witness reports, the bulldozer, which was heading towards the city’s largest open-air market on Jia Fa road, upended a bus and ran over several cars. The driver, was also heard shouting ‘Anabar Bishu’ or ‘Bischkek is great’ in Kashgari.

A security guard from a nearby bank told BLCTV News shot at the driver, bringing the bulldozer to a halt briefly but continued started down the road again. At one point, our correspondent saw two or three men inside the vehicle’s cabin, struggling with the driver and causing the cabin to shake violently. One of the men, an undercover policeman who arrived at the scene described how he dealt with the attacker.

— Begin quote from ____

“As he was driving I climbed the tractor stairs. I held my gun on his temple and told him to stop the vehicle. He didn’t respond and I had to shoot him with two bullet, and made sure he was neutralised, ending the incident.”

Police have confirmed the incident at the mainland capital are a series of deadly attacks made by the Kashgars intending to disrupt relations between Bai Lungese and ethnic Kashgars. All of the dead victims are of Bai Lungese origin.

Reactions to the deadly attack have been polarised amongst the two groups. Interim Admin Richard Im has called the incident a terrorist attack, and condemned it as “an act of random, senseless brutal violence”. He has called for the tension between Bai Lungese and Kashgar to stop ‘swiftly and without incident’ by attempting to initiate talks with key Kashgar politicians.

By contrast, controversial Kashgar spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi has praised Mr Kosharamanarov for his brave efforts, comparing him to a hero. However, he did not explicitly condone today’s massacre as a justified act within the Kashgar communities. Mr Farabhazi, who is widely believed to have links with terrorist group Democratic Kashgar Choice but denies any links with group although claims to be serving as an “intermediary” for the group, has debunked rumours regarding Mr Kosharamanarov’s links with any militant group.

— Begin quote from ____

“Today, a young man in his mid 30’s, performed a brave stunt. A stunt that struck a powerful cord to our rulers. The young, bold man has told our sinister colonial rulers that the insidious disease they are spreading in our lands is no longer effective. This is a man who acted without the aid of our other brothers and with less than adequate means to strike that cord. The Kashgar people will rise up and we will reign as Kashgarstan once more. It is not whether I approve of this so-called ‘attack’, the most important message in today’s event is: When are the Kashgar people going to get our lands back?’ The answer? Never says the permanent guests.”

— End quote

Mr Farabhazi has been critical of the police who shot dead Mr. Kosharamanarov at point blank range.

— Begin quote from ____

“Why did the police do such a thing by blasting our brother to death? The police are blatantly biased on the grounds of racial background. A Bai Lungese man who would run over several people [with a bulldozer] will be subdued at the very worst. I do not approve of their brutal methods. This is simply acts of police brutality, aimed to keep the Kashgar people in deep fear.”

-Tentsin Farabhazi

— End quote

An investigation is currently underway in the wake of the incident.

BREAKING NEWS: Lin Wei announces resignation as depute interim admin.

The deputy interim admin Ling Wei (Pictured above) has announced his resignation during a news conference at his official residence.

The surprise announcement means the 70 year old is resigning less than 3 months after he took office.

His resignation came in the wake of 2 two computer discs owned by Customs and Excise Department containing data relating to pension records has gone missing in late-July. Mr Ling, who is also head of Customs and Excise Department, was facing under intense pressure to recover the lost discs promptly or to resign unequivocally. Mr Ling has stated that he does not wish to tarnish the cabinet’s image by having a direct correlation between his role as depute interim admin and as head of CaED.

His resignation comes almost exactly 1 month after the historic Bai Lung Government Act 2008 and Bai Lung constitution Act 2008 were passed.

— Begin quote from ____

“If we are to prioritise the people’s livelihoods, there cannot be a political vacuum from political bargaining, or a lapse in policies,”

-Ling Wei

Mr Ling did not give a specified date when his resignation would take effect, adding that the ruling Bai Lung Labor Party would hold an internal election to choose his successor.

The costly pensioner record data scandal has resulted in a dip in the approval ratings, Ling Wei started off with 70% but dropped to 18% by the time of the scandal. By comparison, Richard Im had an approval rating of 61% after the scandal.

An early contender for the job is controversial Secretary General of the Bai Lung Labor Party Suzuki Nozomu (Pictured above). Mr Suzuki who is half-Japanese, half-Bai Lungese, is noted for his conservative views. He has advocated a tougher stance towards the Kashgar-Bai Lungese crisis in the mainland, rejects laws to only permit leaders with Chinese names only as well as rejecting laws to allow women to assume the position of interim admin. He accused neo-conservative politician Stephen T. Ding of being “a liberal”.

He is also well known for giving controversial statements, many of which are seen as racist and hypocritical.

In 2007, he delivered his highly provocative “one race” nation speech. He described Bai Lung as having “one nation, one civilisation, one language, one culture and one race. There is no other nation like ours who have such a characteristic!”

His statement was met with polarised results. Some expressed appreciation for his sayings while others called him a hypocrite, being of Japanese extraction and for being ignorant, having forgotten Korean as the other official language.

He allegedly used the N-word when talking about the link between black aid workers (primarily Dannistrians) and the rising crime in Bai Lung at a news conference. He denies using the slur.

Mr Suzuki is seen as a charismatic figure who is known to love reading manga.

Kashgars riot in mainland capital as 2nd anniversary of the passing of late dictator is held.

Thousands of ethnic Kashgars have marched throughout the mainland territories and started torching various Bai Lungese owned establishments and houses as well as attacking random Bai Lungese.

The riot comes in the same day as the day when dictator of Bai Lung Chen Jong Sun passed away on 11th September 2006 after suffering two strokes at the age of 87.

Rioters started lobbing molotovs, bricks and other debris in malls, restaurants and barber shops owned by respectable Bai Lungese businessmen. The mainland capital Xinjiang, was the worst affected in the intense riots. There have been also reports of Kashgar rioters burning the flag of Bai Lung and attacking both innocent by-standers and those commemorating the passing of Chen with scimitars. As this was happening, many chanted out ‘Kashgarstan!’

Interim admin Richard Im and many senior politicians has condemned the rioting.

Chen (Pictured above, circa 1980) is a highly polarising figure in Bai Lung. Others say he did a lot to improve the economy and improve living of standards since the Nationalist junta took power 12 years before him while others including both Bai Lungese and Kashgars claim that he brought the country onto it’s knees and routinely oppressed dissidents.

Kashgar spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi said of the anniversary.

— Begin quote from ____

“Today marks 2 years after the oppressor [Chen Jong Sun] played checkmate with death one last time. He has brought many set backs in the Kashgar people. He invaded. No, he brutally invaded our country and burned down many of our sacred monasteries. He is exerting his authority to erode our 2000 year culture and we have fought very hard to keep our Kashgar culture on the international map. Within a year, Kashgarstan will be established with Orosmk [Xinjiang] as the capital. Kashgarstan for the Kashgars!”

-Tenstin Farabhazi

— End quote

In response to Mr Farabhazi’s speech, a supporter of Chen gave his views on the late dictator.

— Begin quote from ____

"What Mr Farabhazi failed to make in his speech is that Chen Jong Sun helped bring over 200 million out of poverty by giving the most impoverished families a weekly allowance of the most basic food stuff they need to keep themselves going. Adding to that, Chen promised a 150 Da Drendrite to aid with paying electricity bills and so on. The oppression of ethnic Kashgars is a complete myth, the Kashgars were on the verge of self-destruction as they argued who was the true spiritual leader. For instance, the 1976 election resulted in a bloody battle between the Kasharamonrav and Pootinskilatia camps. The latter claimed to have won the election while the former accused the latter of vote tampering. The two sides killed each other and hence their declining numbers.

Suzuki Nozomu sworn in as Depute Interim admin.

Highly controversial and conservative Secretary General of the Bai Lung Labor Party Suzuki Nozomu (Pictured above) has been sworn in as the new deputy interim admin of Bai Lung, a spokesman for Richard Im has confirmed.

Clinching the role by a very slim majority within his own party, Mr Suzuki is the 2nd Roman Catholic to assume a high position, after Richard Im and is the 2nd depute interim of Japanese ancestry after Kurosawa Aya. Mr Suzuki succeeds Ling Wei after resigning in the wake of a controversy over the theft of 2 computer discs owned by Customs and Excise containing data relating to pension records.

Mr Suzuki, 67, is noted for his blunt speaking style and highly controversial political positions, such as banning women from taking high position jobs and declaring that Bai Lung is a ‘one race nation’ despite being part Japanese himself. His racially charged statements is likened to that of American chess player Bobby Fischer by some.

Mr Suzuki has stated that he intends to right the wrongs made by predecessor Ling Wei by finding the people who took the computer discs containing pension records.

— Begin quote from ____

“To the terrorists who stole these very secret and important discs containing the files of over 150 million pensioners, give yourselves up and I will grant a more lenient sentence otherwise consider yourselves perpetrators of treason. The penalty for committing acts of treason is death.”

— End quote

He also announces a much tougher stance against the Kashgar problems in the mainland territories. Mr Suzuki went as far as to call the Kashgar people as a ‘non-indigenous race’.

— Begin quote from ____

“Bai Lung, whether it be on Mao island or on Dalu, Bai Lung is always home to the Bai Lungese: one race and one culture. These Kashgars are just diaspora from other nations masquerading as the indigenous people of Dalu and using violence to intimidate their so called occupiers. On the contrary, Dalu will and always will be Bai Lungese, and therefore we are the indigenous peoples of these lands and they are not. My plan as depute interim admin is that we must kick out these trouble makers back to where they truly belong…”

— End quote

In related news, many people rioted in the streets after the announcement of Mr Suzuki’s appointment as depute interim admin, burning flags of Japan and looting Japanese themed businesses. Many waved placards saying ‘The J@ps are controlling the media’ and ‘WW3 is nigh’. Bai Lungese politicians of Japanese ancestry are generally hugely unpopular by the public regardless of their political positions.

Bai Lung to hold first free elections. Interim admin officially dissolved.

Today marks the end of the interim administration era when Richard Im announced the dissolution of the cabinet in time for the presidential and parliamentary elections.

They are due to be held next Monday with a high turnout of 82%.

It will be the first free and fair election for almost 6 decades. The country was crippled by nationalist and Stalinist rule between 1950-2007 and since then, the stability of the country has been far from stable.

Many newspapers include Ming Pao Bai Lung, Liu Wu and Sing Ren Daily give the Labour Party a modest lead over the Conservative party for the parliamentary elections. Average polls suggest a 70-80 seat majority for the Labour Party. However, the Conservative will take at least 55% of the seats in the upper house elections.

Mr Im will also face head to head with 4 other candidates in the first Presidential elections. Im also leads in the polls with 45% on average.

According to an air controllers union spokesman, the Bai Lung airways pilot reported a ‘double bird strike’ 30 mins after take-off and asked to make a u-turn back to Bai Lung international airport, before ditching in Chen Shen river.

The spokesman, Chen Wei Moon, said the pilot apparently meant the birds had hit both of the jet engines and appears the birds involved were a flock of geese.

“About half an hour into the flight… the left engine just blew… flames coming out of it and I was looking right at it cos I was sitting right there. And it just started smelling a lot like gasoline and a couple of minutes after that the pilot said ‘you guys gotta brace for a hard impact’.”

President Im said it was a modern-day miracle that no one had been killed.

“The pilot demonstrated acts of heroism. He saw what was happening, gained a low altitude, turned the plane in the right direction, found the Chen Shan river and made sure it wasn’t a nose-first landing but rather flat and that’s probably what saved everybody’s life, thank god.”

BREAKING NEWS: Labour and Conservative MPs in House of Representatives brawl. President Im to appoint moderator after incident.

MPs at the House of Representatives threw punches, kicks and wrestled violently, in a row over a movement to oust President Im.

Since the inauguration of Im, there has been daily moves to oust President Im via motion of no confidence by the leader of opposition, the Conservative Stephen T. Ding but is often scuppered by some Conservative members with some accusing Ding of ‘filibustering’.

However on 23rd January, Ding has managed to persuade all 173 MPs to move forward with the motion after threatening to expel follow MPs from abstaining or opposing such moves but with no avail as 175 MPs are required to pass forward a vote of no confidence on the President but thanks to a deal with the sole MP representing Anti-Communism group Party such a movement was passed on Saturday.

On Monday morning, MPs casted their vote on the issue. By afternoon, the move to oust President Im from power has resulted in a crushing defeat with a score of 322-175 voting against the motion of no confidence. 2 MPs have abstained from the vote.

As President Im prepared to speak, deputy opposition leader Ban Hee-Guo (Pictured above, centre) snatched the written results and shoved it in her mouth. Labour MPs failed to get her to cough it up by pulling her hair. She shortly spat the results out, tore it up and shouted out “I DEMAND A RE-COUNT!!!”.

Labour MPs responded by attacking their Conservative rivals, exchanging punches, spitting, and climbing on top of each other’s shoulders. Ms Ban in particular, was head-butted by her Labour rival, leaving her with a scar on her right face. Neither President Im nor Opposition leader Ding were involved nor injured in the incident.

It is the first time which such violence has occurred in the debating chamber. President Im has stated shortly after the brawl that he will appoint a moderator into the Lower House as a method to prevent such incidents in the future and to curb filibustering as in the case of Mr Ding’s daily attempts to oust Preisdent Im from power. Im is also re-considering increasing the threshold of the number of MPs required to pass such motions.

Stephen T. Ding has told BLCTV News that President Im had orchestrated the brawl in an attempt to discredit and undermine his party.

— Begin quote from ____

“He’s making our party look quite foolish, clown like…undermine our ideology…portraying us as the unstable party when in reality, it’s that bow-tie man who’s the unstable one. I’m going to oust him by any means necessary.”

President Im denies any moves to destabilise the Conservative party.
