BREAKING NEWS: Stephen T. Ding embroiled in political scandal. Investigation launched over death threats sent to King Warren.

Opposition leader Stephen T. Ding (Pictured above) of the Conservatives has been embroiled in a political scandal for allegedly sending two abusive letters to the monarch of Warre.

The letters sent by Mr Ding comes when King Warren sent a letter to President Im regarding the Listonian conflict and discouraging him to declare war against Vekaiyu, Elafos or Warre and comparing the Kashgar situation in Bai Lung Dalu to that of the plight in Listonia. President Im responded by advising King Warren against the comparisons and that all Kashgars are treated and respected equally.

Shortly after President Im sent the letter, Mr Ding spoke out against Im’s stance to stay neutral during the conflict. Followed by a session in the lower house, Mr Ding allegedly wrote two letters containing gratuitous language and made threats to bomb Warre.

Prime Minister Li An Ying has expressed his concern for Ding’s behaviour.

— Begin quote from ____

“I am deeply concerned about Mr Ding’s erratic behaviour especially with the recent stunts he has performed. He must express restraint or he is going to drag us all down the well because of his outspoken view. Our goal is to ensure peace throughout the East Pacific and not to openly antagonise nations.”

-Li An Ying

— End quote

Speaking on behalf of President Im, PM Li has stated that an investigation has been launch as to why Ding was allowed to send the letter behind the back of the government.

All Conservatives MPs have defended their leader’s stance on the matter and have accused President Im of restricting freedom of speech.

BREAKING NEWS: Dahniar Laahm condemns Bai Lungese rule: ‘Nanren people put through hell’. Kashgar insurgents kill at least 32 through bombings and shooting sprees.

The 14th Dahniar Laahm (Pictured above) has launched a fierce attack on Bai Lungese in his ‘Nanren homeland’, saying his people have experience ‘hell on earth’.

Over 3 centuries of Bai Lungese rule have cause “untold suffering”, the expelled spiritual leader said, accusing Pyongjing of creating a climate of fear. He also repeated his demand for Mao island’s “legitimate and meaningful autonomy”.

A spokesman for President Im have dismissed the Dahniar Laahm’s attack as a lie and insisted its rule had benefited Nenrenians. The Dahniar Laahm’s speech, in Dannistra Onn, Dannistaan, came on the 340th anniversary when Bai Lungese Korean ancestors entered the country. Commentators have noted that the Dahniar Laahm’s words were different from his usual peaceful comments.

This is perhaps a sign of the exaperation and frustration he must feel over Bai Lung’s stance.

President Im has repeatedly apologised for the brutal treatment of the Nanren people by the previous governments, but has insisted that Bai Lung is still under the control of the Bai Lungese people.

Meanwhile, a series of near-simultaneous attacks consisting of four shootings and a bombing have taken place in the mainland.

In Western Xinjiang, a Kashgar man walked into a school and fired indiscriminately in the class rooms and the corridors, moving from room to room, shooting his victims in the head. 12 students and 3 teachers died at the scene. The perpetrator fled the scene and killed a by-stander. From there, he hijacked a car and headed East to the Vekaiyu border. When the car slid off the road, he fled by foot, fatally injuring the driver. The driver was able to alert police before losing conscience and eventually died at hospital. There was a shootout with the police at a local garage, resulting in the death of a mechanic. The gunman turned the gun on himself, ending the spree. 16 people have died in the shootings.

In New Qinghai, 90 miles south west of Xinjiang, a man also believed to be of Kashgar origin, started the shooting at a petrol station in the outskirts of the city, no deaths reported. Later on, the man went to a nearby trailer park and fatally injured 5 people before stealing a car and performing drive-bys on various people. The shooter drove to a shop some 3 miles from the original crime scene, killing 5 others in a shop. The spree came to an end when the shooter was surrounded by police and took his own life. 11 people, including the perpetrator, died.

A 3rd attack involved the death of two Bai Lungese soldiers at a training camp in Xinjiang. According to eyewitnesses, two men of Kashgar origin disguised themselves as fast food delivery men and started shooting at the barracks, killing two soldiers and injuring four others. The men fled the scene and are still on the run.

A 4th shooting happened in Huxi, central mainland, where Kashgar gunmen ambushed and killed a policeman as he and a colleague investigated a complaint of broken windows in the home of a member of the public. The colleague was injured in the attacks and is in a stable condition.

A 5th incident involved two home made bombs being detonated and killing 3 people and injuring 9 others, as well as a few vehicles destroyed by the blasts. The incident took place at Wushen, West of the mainland.

The 5 incidents coincided with the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Kashgar uprising against Bai Lungese occupation, which took place on 27th March. It is the worst case of terrorism in Bai Lung Dalu since the Xinjiang Massacre last year, which saw Kashgars barricaded themselves inside two hotels, a car bombing and a nightclub set on fire.

The terrorist organisation, Kashgar Liberation Movement (KLM) have claimed responsibility for all 5 attacks. They posted on their website that the Bai Lungese will experience more shootings and bombings until ‘Kashgarstan is freed from the highly oppressive slanty eyed, Oriental pigs’.

The Kashgar spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi, has referred to the attacks in the mainland as ‘justifiable’ against ‘illegal and aggressive Bai Lungese occupation’ and hailing the KLM as ‘legitimate freedom fighters’. He and hundreds of thousands of Kashgars were seen celebrating todays massacre.

Prime Minister Li An Ying (Pictured above) has condemned the attacks in Bai Lung Dalu, calling it ‘beyond comprehension’ and has called for a day of mourning in the wake of the attacks.

Xinjiang mayor Wu Hé Mén has sent his condolences to the families of the victims who died in today’s massacre. He stated in his televised interview at BLCTV, that he will ensure that the perpetrators of other 3 incidents will be caught.

Stephen T. Ding cleared of corruption charges.

Conservative leader Stephen T. Ding (Pictured above) has been released from jail after spending 4 months in police custody.

The opposition leader was detained by police back in March after allegedly bribing an independent MP to support a motion to oust President Im from power, effectively forcing a snap election in the country. However, after 3 months of extensive investigation by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) found that there has been no evidence to suggest that Mr Ding bribed Dong Ping Gao.

Speaking outside the Pyongjing Central Police Stations, he has accused the President of behaving unruly and has called for an immediate election.

— Begin quote from ____

“Throwing me behind bars without charge for 4 months is a totally unacceptable act under the current government and for that reason, I call for President Im to apologise for this unruly behaviour he has exhibited and to call a snap election willingly or a snap election will be forced upon him.”

A spokesman for President Im defended the long period of detention.

Kasghgar riots kill 200 people.

Rioting between Bai Lungese and Kashgar groups have continued 1 week since it has started in the mainland capital of New Xinjiang. To date, an estimated 200 people have died in the riots, approximately 150 of the 200 died being Bai Lungese nationals. Over 1,000 people have been left injured.

The riots took places several days after the death of two Kashgars at the Zhongri Toy Factory in Guangbei, 3 miles north of New Xinjiang, where many migrant workers are employed. Allegedly, a female Bai Lungese worker was reportedly harrassed by Kashgar co-workers in their residence quarters. Rumours over rape at were subsequently initiated by a disgruntled ex-worker. Overnight tensions at the factory led to a full blown ethnic brawl between Kasghars and Bai Lungese. In the ensuing violence, two Kashgar co-workers were killed.

Both President Im and the Kashgar spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi have accused each other for causing the incident.

While addressing the parliament, President Im has blamed Kashgar separatists for causing the riot including spiritual leader Tentsin Farabhazi.

— Begin quote from ____

“This [the riots] was clearly the works of Kashgar separatists who’s purposes is to invoke instability in Bai Lung by causing hundreds maybe thousands of deaths in the name of Kashgar independence. First of all, we must restore quell out these riot before these separatists undermine our country. Secondly, we need to get Tentsin Farabhazi to order his people to exercise restraint and to discuss the future of Bai Lung through dialogue.”

-President Im

— End quote

However, the Kashgar spiritual leader has re-iterated his 21st century Holocaust statement last year and claimed that the riots were the first steps to total genocide. He blames President Im for failing to protect the Kashgar workers during the brawl and for failing to arrest those involved in their murder.

— Begin quote from ____

“This new age Holocaust has been initiated by the racist, imperialist government of Bai Lung. Mr Im has clicked his finger, which means he is taking the first steps to wipe out my people. No, Kashgar people will survive whether the Bai Lungese like it or not. However, if he claimed to not wipe out my people, why did he fail to protect the workers and more importantly, arrest those involved in the vicious brawl? Because he is committing genocide.”

Government to release terminally ill Dong Men bomber.

Secretary of state Zhou Min Lang has announced today that the convicted Dong Men bomber, Ardbeldaset Koskov Eul-Murgraii (Pictured above) will be released on ‘compassionate grounds’.

Mr Eul-Murgraii, who is 57 and ethnically Kashgar, was jailed in 2001 for the atrocity which claimed 270 lives in 1988. He was flown in from the mainland to Mao island where late dictator Chen Jong Sun made a surprise decision to imprison Mr Eul-Murgraii for life, sparing him the death penalty that the Stalinist leader prefers to give to offenders. Mr Chen has always claimed in his lifetime, that jailing him would be an effective propaganda machine intended to scare the Kashgar people and keep them under control. During this time, he was subjected to extensive torture and then treated for injuries before being tortured again. Mr Eul-Mugraii claims his flight to Pyongjing was the most traumatising moment in his life as flying is prohibited in Bischkekism.

The decision to release Mr Eul-Mugraii, who has terminal prostate cancer, was made by the government. A police envoy left Pyongjing, where Mugraii served his sentence, just an hour after the announcement of his release was made. It was greeted by angry jeers from a large group of protesters.

The government said it had consulted widely before Mr Zhou made his decision on applications for Murgraii’s compassionate release or his transfer to jail in the mainland. He told a media conference that he rejected the application for a prisoner transfer.

However, after taking medical advice it was expected that three months was a “reasonable estimate” of the time Murgraii had left to live.

Mr Zhou also stressed that that he accepted the conviction and sentence which had been handed to Murgraii.

— Begin quote from ____

“Mr Eul-Murgraii did not show his victims any comfort or compassion. They were not allowed to return to the bosom of their families to see out their lives, let alone their dying days. No compassion was shown by him to them. But that alone is not a reason for us to deny compassion to him and his family in his final days. Our justice system demands that judgement be imposed, but compassion be available. For these reasons and these reasons alone, it is my decision that Mr Ardbeldaset Koskov Eul-Murgraii, convicted in 2001 for the Dong Men bombing, now terminally ill with prostate cancer, be released on compassionate grounds and be allowed to return to Bai Lung dalu to die.”

-Zhou Min Lang, Secretary of State

— End quote

Conservative leader Stephen T. Ding has highly objected to the release and has called for an snap election.

— Begin quote from ____

“The release [of Mr Eul-Murgraii] go down in the books as the biggest mistake made by the Labour government. I don’t understand why President Im can show compassion to a mass murderer like him. It is an utter insult and totally disgusting: a complete slap in the face to the public. That man took the lives of 270 people and he gets a slap in the wrist for that. An election must be called very soon because President Im is no longer fit to be leader of Bai Lung.”

-Stephen T. Ding

— End quote

Kashgar spiritual leader Tenstin Farabhazi gave a more positive but mixed reaction to the release of Mr Eul-Murgraii. He praised Im’s decision but criticised him for not releasing the other Kashgar political prisoners.

— Begin quote from ____

“The instigator of the new age holocaust has partly made a u-turn on his imperialist policies by humanely releasing one of our brothers today. However, this does falls way below my expectations. Where are the other 2,000 Kashgar prisoners who were forcibly taken to Mao island by airplane and locked behind bars? They must be released shortly before I consider a face to face chat with the president [Im] and initiate a truce. They must all arrive safely by boat followed by train.”

-Tentsin Farabhazi

— End quote

Mr Eul-Murgraii will be sent back to the mainland via boat as per his request where he will spend the last few months to live. He has refused to comment on his release.

Kobayashi Taro transfered to Kinmen Prison after assault.

Former interim admin Kobayahi Taro (Pictured above) has been transfered to Kinmen Prison after a brawl involving him and 3 others took place in Pyongjing Central Penitentiary.

According to reports, the incident took place in the prison’s shower room when 3 men approached Mr Kobayashi, asked him if he was Kobayashi Taro and threw punches at him. Prison guards quelled the situation very quickly and Mr Kobayashi was treated for minor injuries to the face and torso.

The incident was said to be unprovoked. Mr Kobayashi will be moved to the high security Kinmen prison located 2 miles north of Zibo for safety reasons in fear of more reprisal attacks by fellow prisoners.

The 50 year old former leader was charged last year for the rape of prostitute Yang Jie Jie, as well as contempt of court. He was given 35 years for his role in the rape.

Stephen T. Ding: Subsequent anniversaries of Chen Jong Sun’s death must be banned.

Conservative leader Stephen T. Ding has called for all tributes to late dictator Chen Jong Sun to be outlawed under his government.

The ban comes when hundreds of thousands of his supporters, including all the elected members of the Marxist party, gathered outside what would be his place of residence, now the Presidential Office building to pay tribute to Chen, who died 3 years to this day.

Mr Ding has been a lifelong vocal critic of the late Stalinist dictator, claiming that his policies has wiped off a large portion of the population through the rationing programs as well as torturing many political activists. Mr Ding also criticised Chen’s role in the restriction of the trade industry, both domestic and international.

— Begin quote from ____

“Chen Jong Sun is without a doubt, the most brutal dictator this country has ever witnessed in the past century. The ration programs have did little to improve the lifestyle of Bai Lung and have killed off 1 in 80 people during the 44 year he has ruled. Life expectancy has decreased from 79 [years] pre-1962 to 69 [years] post-1962. A decade has been slashed from the people’s lifes. And for what reason? To consolidate the dictator’s rule on the country. To add further insult to injury, Chen tortured anyone who disagreed with him. Chen’s import and export policies also ruined the country. He decided what goods he wishes to give and what goods he wishes to take.”

-Stephen T. Ding

— End quote

President also voiced concerns in regards to the tributes, but argues that banning a tribute would be unpopular.

Suzuki Nozomu defects to Conservative party.

Former Secretary of the Bai Lung Labour Party Suzuki Nozomu (Pictured above) has defected to the Conservative Party.

The 67 year old has stated that the policies made by his former party were ‘too liberal’ and that President Im’s handling of the Kashgar problems in the mainland were not tough enough. Mr Suzuki has released a short statement explaining his defection to the Conservative party.

— Begin quote from ____

“Today, I have made the transition to move from the Labour Party to the Conservatives. The reason for this sudden move is due to the overtly liberal and laid back policies that my former party has embraced in the last 6 months which I find unacceptable. That, along with President Im’s refusal to be tough on the constant attacks of Bai Lungese civilians by the non-indigenous race called the Kashgars on a day to day basic, proved to be the clincher for my move. I have lost all respect to the President and I hope a snap election will take place sooner rather than later.”

-Suzuki Nozomu

— End quote

Wei Jia Na, the spokesman for President Im expressed disappointment to Mr Suzuki’s defection.

BREAKING NEWS: Labour Party loses out in annual local council elections.

The Labour Party government has suffered a crushing defeat in the annual local council elections for the first time since being the ruling party for nearly one year.

The government has reported a huge loss of over 500 council seats, with the biggest gainers went to the Conservative party with gains of over 470 seats. Far-left party Marxist Party also gained 49 more seats from last year. The Labour government also reported losses of 9 council areas while the Conservatives gained control of 13 areas, 4 of which were previously NOC (No Overall Control).

The elections were held yesterday with polling stations opening nationwide from 7am to 7pm. A turnout of 83% was reported, an increase of 2% from last year.

Factors cited for the decreasing support for the Labour Party includes the hugely unpopular Bai Lung Border Act 2009 which severely restricts travel to the Mainland. This year also saw an increase in Sales Tax by 5% causing further friction between him and fellow members of the cabinet.

Conservative leader Stephen T. Ding (Pictured above) spoke positively of the results.

President Im’s approval ratings have also plummeted to 28% down from 39% in October while disapproval ratings have shot up to 72%.

President Im to partially lift Mainland restrictions.

President Im has announced that travel restrictions to the mainland will be partially lifted effective from tomorrow, a government spokesman has claimed.

Core actions implicated in the Bai Lung Border Act 2009 includes restricting flights to the mainland to once a day and the establishment of a newly enforced border gate at the Vekaiyu border. Back in February, a conflict between the nations of Listonia and Vekaiyu erupted. Despite alleviating travel restrictions, the revised act will continue to ban Mainland migration, a move criticised by human rights for denying refugees from Vekaiyu to flee the bloody conflict.

Speculations of Im’s plummeting approval ratings and the lose of over 500 seats in the council elections has lead to the amendment of concessions to the restrictions but this was vehemently denied by President Im.

The government has now issued a revised list of measures.[ul]
[li] All flights to Bai Lung Dalu will be increased from 1 flight per day to 5.

[li] All immigrants to Bai Lung Dalu will be continued to be denied entry due to the Listonia conflict.

[li] Border control guards given orders to shoot on sight will now stun intruders unless attacked with firearms.

[li] Emergency drills will only take place throughout Bai Lung Dalu (From 12.00-12.15) weekly on a Monday. This for preparation of any global conflict which stems from the Listonia conflict.

[li]50 more underground bunkers will be built over a course of 5 months.

[li] All train services from Xinjiang to Dōng Mén have been increased to 15 trains a day.

[li] All local business will only close down 1 hour prior to normal business hours.

[li] The Coocoostani Army is preparing to supply emergency food supplies should the war spread to Bai Lung Dalu.
[/li][/ul]Nuclear Deterrent Armament Programme passes by comfortable majority.

Controversial plans to introduce the nuclear deterrent Taepodong-3 has been passed through by a comfortable margin despite half of the entire government voting against moves.

The Labour government has been pushing forward the Taepodong-3 programme since the government’s formations. However, the Listonian conflict early this year has resulted in further moves to initiate the nuclear deterrent programme sooner rather than later.

Despite a colossal rebellion from the government’s own backbenchers and senior members of the cabinet as well as opposition from the other parties, the Taepodong-3 Armament Act 2009 has been passed by a majority of 115 thanks to unanimous support from the opposition party.

An undisclosed Dannistrian company will be providing 58 nuclear armed Taepodong-3 submarine-launched ballistic missiles and around 200 nuclear warheads on four Type 96 submarines.

Critics of the nuclear deterrent claim that the country is not politically stable to own such weaponry, due to the fact that 2 different governments have ruled the country in only 2 years. They also claim the most unstable autocratic regime may use the weapons against their Dannistrian neighbours.

Opposition leader suspended from parliament.

Opposition Leader Stephen T. Ding has been suspended for 18 days for giving an inflammatory statement towards another nation.

While debating the country’s involvement in the missile crisis in the Vekaiyu-Listonia, the outspoken Conservative leader read a letter he sent to Nahrin Union Prime Minister Kenny Cuthbert, accusing his country of racism and bigotry. Last week, the Nahrin Union announced that it would restrict it’s citizens from travelling to certain nations due to their involvement in the Vekaiyun-Listonian conflict.

Speaker Cho Song Jia asked Mr Ding to withdraw the statement. Mr Ding was removed from the chamber after refusing to comply. The entire Conservative MPs followed suit in solidarity of their suspended leader. Deputy leader Ban Hee Guo has announced that they will picket outside parliament until Speaker Cho rescinds Mr Ding’s suspension.

— Begin quote from ____

“This is an appalling travesty that our leader gets thrown out for expressing an honest view on a backwards nation that habours prejudice towards all immigrants living in their country. Mr Ding is simply telling the truth yet he is made to pay a dear price for doing so. I expect the speaker to rescind the suspension and to resume the debate with the Nahrin Union which I frankly believe, is an appalling nation.”

-Ban Hee Guo

Speaker Cho defended his decision to suspend Mr Ding and accused him of filibustering.

— Begin quote from ____

“I thought at first the letter was Ding being a little whiny about the Nahrin Union adding some nations to the RTL but I realised his letter was very defamatory and sinister. The man’s choice of words have left me totally flabbergasted before I regained my composure. Yes, I respect his experience as a politician but he is wasting parliamentary time by giving irrelevant pieces of information. There is no way I’m going to withdraw his suspension at all. It is set in stone and when he returns from his suspension, he’s going to learn how to debate like a real politician instead of behaving like a hissy kid like he did yesterday.”

-Speaker Cho Song Jia

This is the first time Mr Ding has been suspended from parliament. His salary will also be suspended during the period.

President Im’s approval ratings sink to 31%: Im must intervene in missile crisis claims opposition.

President Im faces another crushing blow to his presidency when an opinion poll gave a further drop in his approval rating by 4% in comparison to previous opinion polls.

BLPC (Bai Lung Polling Council) shows President Im’s approval ratings decreasing from 35% earlier this month to 31%. Major factors for the dissatisfaction towards President Im’s job include lack of military involvement in the Vekaiyun-Listonian missile crisis (67%) and the handling of the Kashgar problems in the mainland (22%).

Almost 6 months ago, the nation of Vekaiyu sold missiles to neighbouring country Listonia, causing international concern. Vekaiyu in particular, is directly bordering Bai Lung Dalu to the west. Residents of Bai Lung Dalu have repeatedly expressed fears that the government of Listonia could use the missiles on them. Despite this, a peace treaty is rumoured to be underway.

In the same poll, almost 70% also call for Im to hold a snap general and Presidential election. Nearly 75% claim they would vote for Ding as president.

Outside the Bai Lungese Parliament, all 174 members of the opposition party and 5 independent MPs have picketed outside due to leader Stephen T. Ding’s 18 day suspension, denouncing Im as undemocratic.

The group are reportedly blocking Labour MPs from entering the chamber but have since been ordered to picket a few metres from the entrance by police on health and safety grounds.

"Im clearly does not have an independent mind. His career politician way of life is a shocking revelation to those who wanted change and to avoid bloody conflicts like 2 years ago. The war lobbies are salivating in joy when they witnessed their poodle bark obediently to their commands. "

By contrast, the Conservative Party leader Stephen T. Ding spoke warmly of the move, although criticised for delaying such moves.

“I welcome such moves, especially at a time when an unstable undemocratic government is choking the life out of his own countrymen. The missile bases must be removed sooner rather than later.”

The date to intervene is currently unknown, but a spokesman may suggest fighter bombers could be deployed as soon as 2 weeks.

1,500 arrested in Chen Jong Sun birthday celebrations. Vote of no confidence withdrawn.

Over 1,500 people have been arrested by police who were gathering outside the Presidential Office Building, celebrating in what would be Stalinist dictator Chen Jong Sun’s 91st birthday.

Most were ordered to move away from the building by the police and given a stern warning without further incident. However, there were some intense scuffles between supporters and police.

More than 48 hours ago, the government officially passed the Bai Lung Anti-Dictator Act 2010 with a comfortable majority, thanks to unanimous support from the opposition party and most members of the Labour government. This means any celebration/glamourfication of the former Stalinist ruler on his birthday or on his death, will result in a BL$2,500 fine and/or 1 year prison sentence.

In response, the opposition party have announced their withdrawal of the government’s vote of no confidence in response to the imposed ban. However, the Labour government have denied passing the law due to the impeachment of President Im.

President Im bans visitors of Nahirn Union: “Kenny Cuthbert is an international criminal if he enters Bai Lung and military action is necessary.”

The Nahrin Union is the first ever country to have it’s citizens banned from travelling to Bai Lung by the government, in accordance to the Bai Lung Travel Restrictions Act 2009

Earlier this week, the government of the Nahrin Union expressed concern to President Im in regards to mounting pressure relating to his reluctance to use military intervention in the Veikayun-Listonian missile crisis due to the installment of missile bases in Listonia. As a result, Im’s closest members of the cabinet supported a motion of no confidence as well as the entire main opposition, the Conservative Party, for Im’s initial refusal to launch a strike in Listonia. Public opinion polls gave an unfavourable view to Im’s pacifist stance. Im also saw 2 motion of no confidence placed upon him in 4 weeks, one narrowly scuppered and one withdrawn this week due to a new law forbidding celebration of Bai Lung’s past dictators.

Last week, Nahrin PM Kenny Cuthbert said that he would expel diplomats from his country, later revealed to be Nahrin born cleaners, as well as trade embargoes, claiming the unstable nature of the Bai Lungese government as the main reason for the sanctions… President Im denies this claim and has stated that there have been no formal relations between the countries, and trade embargoes would have no effect as the two countries have historically never traded with each other since 1962. The Nahrin Union will fall into the Exclusion Zone, which forbids citizens of the Nahrin Union to enter Bai Lung. Those who flout the law gets 5 years prison sentence, and a BL$20,000 fine. High profile visitors like Kenny Cuthbert will also be arrested under the law and will receive 50 years prison sentence should he enter Bai Lung.

— Begin quote from ____

“The Nahrin Union chose to play hard ball with my people so in return, I the Nahrin Union will formally be the first recipient of the Exclusion Zone. The government of Bai Lung is a very stable and robust one. There will always be opposition to our policies by other parties. This is totally normal because it shows that democracy is actually working [in Bai Lung] unlike the Nahrin Union where challenges to the government will be met with mandatory remedial class. Like in a working democratic country, I will rise to any challenges given to me and I will debate them like a real politician. Citizens of the Nahrin Union will be given a maximum prison sentence of 5 years and a BL$20,000 fine if they set foot here. A high profile visitor, like Prime Minister Kenny Cuthbert will also fall into my laws but will receive a much harsher sentence of 50 years minimum. Effectively, Cuthbert is an international criminal, and his country will be on this list until he considers radical changes to his policies such as removing us from their RTL (Restricted Travel List).”

— End quote

President Im also stated that military is a possibility if the Nahrin Union places further sanctions on Bai Lung, such as mass deportation of Nahrin born Bai Lungese.

— Begin quote from ____

"If the Nahrin Union attempts to respond kindly by deporting overseas Bai Lungese, then military intervention is necessary to overthrow an increasingly dangerous government, maybe after the attack on the Listonian missile bases or before.

I do find their statement to be very ironic for the Nahrin government to describe the government of my country to be unstable when in fact they are simply describing themselves."

-President Im

The New Shenzhen Express opinion poll gives President Im a further increase of his approval ratings to 45%.

Government makes hasty revision to Bai Lung Anti-Dictator Act 2010

The government has made a quick revision to the Bai Lung Anti-Dictator Act 2010 after a query from opposition leader Stephen T. Ding last week.

The bill was previously applicable to former Stalinst dictator Chen Jong Sun, who ruled from 1962-2006 and dying from a stroke as a result from excessive alcohol consumption. The rushed revision also means that the Nationalist junta that preceded Chen will also fell foul of the law. Any tributes or celebrations to the former military government will also result in a BL$2.500 fine and/or 1 year prison sentence.

Most of the parties in the lower chamber supported the revision, with the noted exception of the Marxist party who opposed the bill from the start.

President Im denounces “empty threat” message.

President Im has denounced a message from Nahrin Union Prime Minister Kenny Cuthbert who called Im’s warning as

Speaking with journalists outside of the Presidential Office Building, President Im blasts Mr Cuthbert on claims that military intervention on the Nahrin Union is a threat. He criticised the country for it’s alleged pseudo-democracy.

— Begin quote from ____

“He [Kenny Cuthbert] is in no position to critique our friendly warning by interpreting my message to his nation as an empty threat. His message is very hypocritical of himself for a person who claims to be a strong champion of ‘democracy’ when in fact, he does the opposite of what he is doing, resulting in the Nahrin Union as a bastion of ‘pseudo-democracy’ because the current government is in no danger of being replaced by another. Those who vote for other parties find themselves coerced relentlessly by supporters of the government.”

— End quote

President Im has also criticised the Nahrin Union’s policy of shunning outside opinion.

— Begin quote from ____

“[T]he point of foreign affairs is that every country has the absolute right to know what their neighbour is up, diplomatic relations with or without. We are entitled to voice our concern with another country as much as Cuthbert claims it is not of our concern. In addition, he calls our methods ‘interference in internal matters’. We call it ‘freedom of expression’ and this is were democracy comes into play.”

— End quote

He has called for the Nahrin government to stop the practise of gerrymandering.

— Begin quote from ____

“They [the government of Nahrin Union] must stop it’s unfair practise of changing constituency boundaries on a regular basis since the very first free elections after Dictator Smyth was ousted from power in 1975. They are using this method to undermine potential opposition upsets. If they keep the boundaries the same, then Cuthbert’s government will not be the ruling party.”

Opposition leader embroiled in cat eating scandal.

Conservative leader Stephen T. Ding is under heavy criticisms from animal rights activists after consuming cat meat at a local restaurant in Pyongjing.

The restaurant named, Ryu Kong, is noted for serving dishes made from virtually any animals including cats, dogs, turtles and even bears. Founded by it’s namesake in late 2007, it has since attracted over 1 million customers annually, many of them repeat customers. It’s success was also met with heavy criticisms from animal rights activists, culminating in daily protests calling for the restaurant to be shut down. The owner however, denies any animal cruelty, comparing cat meat to all other animal meat.

— Begin quote from ____

“I’ve set up a restaurant where everyone can choose from a diverse range of dishes including cat and dog meat based dishes. There is no form of cruelty in my business because the animal is put down in a humane fashion, as with the other animals we make the dishes from. At this time of year, customer demands means that cat meat is the top menu of the year, so demand of them is rife. Cat meat can get rid of dampness and the uncertainty we gathered up in the past 60 days, and it is nutritious hence why I feel that it is good for the fluids and spirits of the body. If we can eat the meat of pigs, then why can’t we choose cats as a dish.”

— End quote

Mr Ryu also denies repeat customers assaulting the animal rights activists.

— Begin quote from ____

“This is liberal bias conjured by the ultra-liberal Labour government. My finest, most educated customers are being assaulted by them [animal rights activists], not the other way round. I want to give people the freedom on what to eat, not restrict their palates to green veg and rice.”

-Ryu Kong Owner of Ryu Kong Restaurant

— End quote

Amongst it’s most notable customer is the opposition leader Stephen T. Ding, who was secretly being filmed visiting Ryu Kong Restaurant, ordering cat meatballs there and consuming the dish enthusiastically.

While consuming the cat meat based dish, he reportedly made remark to a friend ‘Mmmmm!!! I want more!!! A baby boy would be on my palates soon…’ leading to many accusing Mr Ding of promoting cannibalism. He was also seen drinking 2 bottles of Tsingtao beer, despite being a Methodist, also drawing criticisms from Methodist church leaders for not abiding to their standards.

Prominent Tory MPs were quick to jump onto Mr Ding’s defense on consuming cat meat and alcohol. Suzuki Nozomu, once Labour MP, now Tory MP, defended his leader’s choice of dishes, as well as his alcohol consumption.

— Begin quote from ____

"Who cares what my boss eats or drinks. He’s a human being and he is entitled to visit any restaurant that suits him. What Mr Ding just ate is simply another meat dish just like with other dishes that contains animal flesh. Some have also criticised Mr Ding for his consumption of alcohol because he is a member of a religion [Methodism] that forbids alcohol consumption. That’s total bull. He is a Methodist practitioner NOT a high ranking member, which I can understand why alcohol consumption is frowned upon on their level. Because Mr Ding is not a preacher, he can drink alcohol as he so wishes. This double standard on animal cruelty is truly appalling to my eyes and I question the people’s will to live. Some of these protesters are clearly partisan members of the Labour government who wish to recoup lost seats in the local council elections. The mid-term upper house is coming up later this year and we can take another 20 or so seats from the Labour government. "

-Suzuki Nozomu MP

— End quote

There is no laws regarding animal cruelty in the country, but BLAES (Bai Lung Animal Ethics Society), the leading animal welfare organisation, is calling for laws to make cat and dog consumption illegal.

— Begin quote from ____

“Cats and dogs are animals that have long been associated with companionship around the world. It’s difficult to see why are these lovely animals are being used as meat based dishes. Many of the slaughtered cats have poison in their intestines from the days they were hunting rats, which constitutes most of the ingredients for cat meat dishes. In turn, this can result in thousands of deaths from consuming cat meat dishes, proving disastrous for the whole country. The cats used for consumption, linger in pain, waiting to be slaughtered and the wait is downright cruel. People say we feel pain, but so do cats!”

-Suzy May BLAES spokeswoman.

No Conservative politician, Upper or Lower house, has called for Ding’s resignation, with unanimous support. Mr Ding’s spokesman has yet to comment on the incident.

Senator Feng calls for investigation on cat eating scandal.

Upper house Senator Feng Da Shui is the first Conservative Party politician calling for an investigation to leader’s Stephen T. Ding’s involvement of cat consumption at a local restaurant in Pyongjing.

Throughout the past 3 weeks, there has been a mixed reception to Ding’s consumption of cat meat with condemnation from the Labour, Democrat and Marxist parties and support from the Conservatives and some independent MPs and Senators. Animal rights activists also weighed into the debate wether consumption of cats and dogs should be banned in the country. Despite the controversy, Mr Ding has only ate from the restaurant once.

Today, Senator Feng, 57, is the first Conservative to break away from the party’s mould and has called for an investigation to look for any serious misconduct of animal cruelty found in Ryu Kong Restaurant. A vegetarian since the age of 10. although his parents have forced him to eat meat frequently, he also called for Mr Ding to distance himself from Ryu Kong restaurants for the time being.

— Begin quote from ____

"My leader might be breaking his own policies by giving money to people who mistreat animals through intimidation, grabbing animals by the scruff of their necks, kicking them and throwing them across the pavement. These allegations are very, very serious and we have laws regarding animal cruelty…Mr Ding for now, must avoid sparking further controversy by going to that place and order the exact same dish he ordered on that day. "

-Feng Da Shui Conservative Party Senator

— End quote

Reaction to Mr Feng’s calls for an investigation have been virtually unanimously negative with calls from several MPs demanding his expulsion from the Conservative Party.

Stephen T. Ding: Dannistrian ex-pats must apply for special visa or face severe jail time.

Conservative leader Stephen T. Ding is calling for the Labour government to implement a ‘Caution Zone’ to supplement the existing ‘Exclusion Zone’ which bans citizens from that country to enter Bai Lung.

One of the more notable features in the ‘Caution Zone’ which require ex-pats living in Bai Lung to apply for a ‘special visa’ to reside in Bai Lung must apply for an annual $500 visa. Failure to re-apply in time will result in a $10,000 fine and 15 years in jail. In comparison to the special visas, current non ‘Caution Zone’ visas are valid for 5 years, costing BL$250 for first time application and BL$120 for subsequent application.

Dannistaan is said to be the first country to be added to the Caution Zone, leading to speculation that the move was made in response to the successful election of the extreme far-right Dannistrian Nationalist Party who are currently implementing new laws to ban employment of Bai Lungese immigrants. Some conservative commentators have started to accuse Ding of being a knee-jerk Tory for calling such laws.
