Yea we are still discussing, but anyways. another idea might be to take the active people on each continent and think cooperatively of a name. like for the big one. me todd, drak, bai lung and all others would work out a name. where as for that little area S. yugo and vulsh would give it a name.
Ap Meuric would dispute Amerigo as our namesake…
I think a random tl;dr list from a name generator is the wrong way to go with this.

Well, at least I’m not the only one who didn’t like the random names. Anyway, I’m with Allegheny’s idea.
I know that a lot of you don’t like the random generated names, and I’ll admit that a good many of them aren’t great. There are some good ones though. But I agree it might be best if the people who make up each continent get together and come up with a name. The generated names were to give us all ideas.
There are some good names on the generated list, so i´d be ok with that.
However i admit it´d be cooler if we created it ourselves.
So, let´s think!

If Shambhala is offered for the Northern Blue only, may I suggest Shangri-La for Southern Blue? They are kind of the same and corresponding names could work as an alternative to a North-South system.

I was thinking the same thing.
Also, once upon a time, I sometimes used name generators as a last resort. And there were some really good ones. But I think it would hold more value and weight if we were to collectively make up the names ourselves. …not saying that we couldn’t use old language influence, such as Greek, Latin, et al, of course.
One more thing…
Look to the history of the East Pacific. Is there anything, anyone so significant that we might want to include it in something so important as the naming of our continents? This is a big deal, and may very well be permanent. Let’s think it through.

I think the having nations on the continent name the continent works only for some continents. For instance the continent Kandorith is on really only has 1-2 active players on it. Plus the seas might be tricky.
I sort of like the idea of just picking three names for each one and then having a vote on it to see what we come up with. If we could do this in a few weeks I can make sure this will appear on the next map update (which will probably be my last only because I’ve done it for a while, I have enough responsibilities, and I think someone else should be given a shot at it 
)
I’ve always fancied the body of water below the Pax as “The bay of Blood.” You know, because of the Pax AND Drakk
I approve “The bay of Blood.” name!
And since no new names for the continents came up, we use vote on those already suggested.
I’m not crazy for bay of blood, but I like the idea of voting for the names, and if everyone is okay with it, we can include the votes that were posted previously. And we should start the voting very soon, before I post another 1000 names.
I dont mind bay of blood for the packs/drak bay, but not for the purple sea.
Bay of Blood always reminds me of the Mario Bava movie of the same name.
