[POLITICS] New beginnings for the Arrows

The National Congress of the Prosperity Party met yesterday in the capital, during which Eric Ionavici was elected president, followed by Mariana Stănică, Elena Ticlovean, Mihail Vitreanu and Lilianne Grigoriță as first vice-presidents.

Eric Ionavici became interim president of the party after the arrest of former Prime Minister Henry Pren, accused of embezzling Б 1.5 billion from the National Bank’s reserves.

The political program was also changed, with the party adopting a stance in favor of restoring the monarchy. However, certain political experts have stated that the new political program of the Arrows is only a modified version of the program adopted in 1908.

[POLITICS] GC's Governor resigned

Golden Coast Governor Patricia Lilianne Wilson has resigned after a controversial decision to pardon Matei Pop, who was serving a 30-year sentence at Jasonville Penitentiary.

Matei Pop, 38, was arrested last year after driving a stolen vehicle without a license, hitting five people in the process. He was jailed for theft, driving a vehicle without a license, driving under the influence of alcohol, destruction of public property and manslaughter.

Following the governor’s decision to pardon him, several citizens called for her resignation on social media. The situation worsened after Golden Coast residents protested, demanding Wilson’s resignation. Last month, she was expelled from the Limboese Civic Union by Dominic Grey, losing the support of her party.

Lilianne Wilson will now be replaced by the President of the State Council until a new governor is elected.

[INTERNAL] Anti-missile systems in planning

Federal Minister of National Defense, Teodor Jones, announced the start of construction of a new military base and the rehabilitation of three others to be equipped with anti-missile systems. These are the Feremburg, Kern and Vila bases, with the fourth to be built between the cities of Khermen and Skhiva.

This investment, totaling almost Б 15 billion, is part of a project to modernize Limbo’s defense infrastructure. The project will also rehabilitate military academies and high schools, including their dormitories. Through this project, the ministry, along with the Limboese Armed Forces, hopes to attract more recruits.

The Chief of General Staff, General Aaron Pop, said in an interview that this project is intended to increase the military power of the Limboese Republic, so that it does not have to depend on other countries to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

[INTERNAL] Fatal accident on A2

Six people were killed and 12 injured in an accident that occurred this afternoon on the A2 highway, near Matrolinsk, after a full bus collided with a truck. According to witnesses, the truck driver slowed down suddenly, and the bus driver did not have enough time to react.

Due to the accident, traffic on the direction to the capital was diverted to the opposite direction of the highway until 18:15. According to the traffic police, neither of the two drivers survived.

This is not the first accident of its kind, the area in question having reported the most road accidents at the federal level.

[WEATHER] Low temperatures across the country

Meteorologists have announced that starting this week, temperatures will start to drop below freezing. Already, in the south, -5°C has been recorded during the day, reaching even -12°C in places.

In the Vadu Dobrii resort, the owners of guesthouses and chalets are preparing to welcome tourists warmly, and the ski slopes no longer need artificial snow because the snow layer reaches even 15 centimeters.

Also in anticipation of the cold weather, the country’s railway and air operators have warned travelers of possible delays, including on short routes.

In contrast, in Corr, temperatures today reached even 18°C, well above normal for this period. Although the beach season has passed, some residents took advantage of the lack of crowds and the relatively mild temperatures.

According to forecasts for the entire month, the National Weather Service expects the average temperature across the country to reach -7°C.

[EXTERNAL] West Atlalandr loses diplomatically

Although West Atlalandr is advancing in its military conflict with East Atlalandr, it has lost out diplomatically, following a Eyjarian resolution to halt all grants and investments from the North Concordian Economic Forum to West Atlalandr, according to the Norgsveltian National News. The suspected, but still unconfirmed, reason behind this resolution is a strong opposition to West Atlalandr’s military intervention in its eastern province.

The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy issued a press release expressing its strong disagreement with the conflict. The statement also states that: “The Limboese Republic welcomes the initiative from Eyjaria and adopted by the North Concordian Economic Forum to cut financial packages for the Kingdom of Atlalandr, emphasizing that both sides should resolve the conflict through diplomatic negotiations. Prolonging this war will only bring more unnecessary suffering to the people.”

During a press conference before the start of President Hellen Portman’s diplomatic tour, she declared: “This is not just a conflict, but an unjustified and criminal invasion of East Atlalandr by its western neighbor.” Asked if sanctions were being considered at the federal level, Portman replied: “Sanctions are decided by the government and parliament, but I will certainly enact them if necessary, without exception.”
