Breaking News: West Atlalandian Government issues complaint to the NCEF over Eyjarian proposed resolution
While the West Atlalandian army continues to enjoy successes on the battlefield as East Atlalandian soldiers been seen retreating from the city of Sortborg, one of largest cities in the entirety of East Atlalandr, the same cannot be said about West Atlalandr’s diplomatic relationship as the Eyjarian led resolution of halting all financial packages to West Atlalandr was passed through the North Concordian Council with an overwhelming majority. All together West Atlalandr was meant to get over 30 billion UKR (15 billion SHD) in investments and grants from the NCEF, which has now been halted out of concerns about “government waste”. Though it suspected the main purpose behind the proposal is as a response to the country’s military intervention into its eastern neighbor.
With the West Atlalandian finance minister, Klara Ardak, having attacked the decision claiming it is “politically motivated” instead of being financially motivated. With her reiterating previous statements made by her government that they will not fall for external pressure over the current border conflict. She also revealed during a press conference that the West Atlalandian government will end all financial and sapiant aid it been giving to Helslandr through participation of various NCEF programs, most notably the Bassot Plan, claiming the loss of NCEF grants and investments has forced the country to cut its own foreign aid programs. The West Atlalandian government had originally meant to be giving Helslandr around 9 billion UKR (4.5 billion SHD) in financial and sapiant aid this year. Much of which has been suspected to go help the country’s efforts of helping the millions refugees that return back to the country.
The cutting of aid has been harshly criticised by several NCEF members with the Eyjarian representative in the North Concordian Council, Ragnar Ragnarson, claiming the Atlalandian decision was done as a “punishment” towards Helslandr for supporting Eyjaria’s proposal in the council and the country’s position against the conflict which been taken jointly together with Eyjaria and rest of the Lapérousian peninsula. With Eyjaria’s prime minister, Kjolf Bardsen, promising his Helslandrer counterpart that their countries will be working together with others in the region to compensate for the loss of Atlalandian aid.
The decision was also criticised in Osfjord, West Atlalandr’s traditional backer, as prime minister Bjørn Varg stated in a press conference that he thought the country’s decision of cutting supposedly vital aid was a “mistake” arguing the need of reversing the stance. In which he made a further statement saying:
“It is in the belief of my government that our allies and friends in Atlaborg are making a series of decisions that unconsciously is undermining the principles and integrity of the NCEF. As such we made clear which steps need to be taken to reverse this unfortunate trend. As it said in the Saga.
Patience does not equal inaction.”
The prime minister also revealed during the press conference that he and the UCCS President, Minerva Todd, had several “constructive” conversations about the current conflict and overall situation on Concord, proclaiming that both are working towards a mutual understanding and to strengthen stability on the continent. Which has been been a change of rhetoric from previous administrations over Norgsveldet’s relationship with the UCCS.

Breaking News: West Atlalandr starts ground operations alongside its south eastern border despite growing international opposition
The West Atlalandian Defence Minister, Jakop Branndalin, announced this morning that the Royal Defence Forces of Atalalandr (RDFA) will be expanding its ‘military stabilisation’ mission in East Atlalandr with him saying the West Atlalandian Army has expanded its operations into southern East Atlalandr with it being estimated that five army divisions already crossed the southern border. With reports that clashes are already happening along the outskirts of the city of Frontborg, which had already been under heavy bombardment from the West Atlalandian Air Force. According to the Defence Minister the strategic goals of the original military operation has supposedly changed so drastically that the need to expand the operations has become greater than ever. As such requiring an expansion of the army’s military objectives. With him proclaiming that they are: “Seeking to end the security threat of the east once and for all.”
This having been done in tandem with a few days prior were the West Atlalandian Prime Minister Nikkolas Bjarnvikdal announcing the mobilisation of over 100k reservists, which is going to now support the country’s increasing military operations. With it estimated that alongside the mobilisation of the East Atlalandian reservists that the number of troops fighting in the conflict might have risen up to a total of half a million, with some estimates putting it closer to 600k. The amount has been disputed with several reports of conscripts in East Atlalandr refusing service, with it being alleged that several joined up with the AFA instead. It is also rumoured that the AFA has been fighting West Atlalandian troops in the occupied city of Sortborg, though this has been denied by both West and East Atlalandian governments claiming the insurgents in the city are loyal to the East Atlalandian Army.
The expansion of the West Atlalandian military operation has come in spite of the growing opposition from the international community, with a growing amount of nations from within the UCA and the NCEF calling for West Atlalandr to end its military operation and withdraw from its eastern neighbor. With Prime Minister Bjørn Varg recently putting out a statement criticising the military expansion and urging his counterpart in Atlaborg to withdraw from East Atlalandr. Which has been a change from previous policy about the conflict where Varg previously urged only restraint and pause in the conflict. This also comes alongside the fact that Varg announced that Norgsveldet will be cutting all military intelligence sharing with West Atlalandr until a withdrawal has been announced.
This has not been the end of West Atlalandr’s deteriorating diplomatic situation as reports have come forth that Eyjarian diplomats are working in tandem with diplomats from Helslandr, Nacresia and Pledonia to discuss the possibility of suspending West Atlalandr’s voting rights within the NCEF. With the hope of getting backing from Tretrid in such an initiative. The UCCS has also condemned the expansion of the military operation and has accused the West Atlalandian government of attempting to reunify the country through force, stating that should they not withdraw from East Atlalandr they will be forced to bring the matter to the IFSC.
Meanwhile the Federation has issued an ultimatum to the West Atlalandian government, stating the original borders must be upheld. Having expelled their West Atlalandian ambassadors, in addition FPM Pierre authorized and called up the Rapid Action Force, to be deployed off the maritime borders between both Atlalandrs. While at the current moment Norgsveldet has issued restraint on the naval deployment from their closest ally, Varg has also reiterated the importance of listening to the ultimatum itself as well.
We will be updating this as it develops.
