PRAISE AND FRUSTRATION AT BARVATA FOR DEVELOPING INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
Over the last several days the Prime Minister has released separate legal documents detailing that Great Morstaybishlia has successfully entered negotiations with three countries; Zukchiva, the Kurikian Federation and Andorinhões, all of which has, at the minimum, established formal recognition and the exchange of ambassadors. Prime Minister Franklin Barvata revealed to parliament that he wishes to engage in further dialogue with the nations to establish what he says is “vital trade for the future”, as well as detailing dialogue with Andorinhões that would promote the teaching of the Staynish language in their schools and colleges as a learning option.
His party has commended his actions, stating that it is precisely the level of international projection they were expecting from their Prime Minister candidate back in the 2019 General Election and have revealed that there is more progressive international discussions to occur in the near future. But despite this, Leader of the Opposition and Conservative leader Benjamin Wardola and Democrat leader Osbourne Saudaran has condemned these talks as both “distractions” and “ignorance” to the truth. Our political correspondent, Millie Gofsburg is with the Leader of the Opposition today, Millie, over to you.
It has been very tense over these past twenty four hours as peaceful demonstrations have rallied against the Prime Ministers actions just down the street from his residence in 1 Bursil Street. The street is full of frustrated faces, of faces that want reassurance that he will not ‘ignore’ his duties surrounding the civil unrest and local lock-downs within eastern Caltharus. The people here have stated that they want the Prime Minister to really focus in on the internal challenges the country faces rather than nearly completely ignore it. I’m with Leader of the Opposition Benjamin Wardola, Mr Wardola, what do you think?
“I think, as well as the rest of the Conservative Party that Mr Barvata’s actions speak for themselves. In the midst of, lets face it, a national crisis; the Prime Minister has consistently neglected his duties. He should focus most of his attention towards tackling the issues in the region such as the social injustices and the apparent underlining poverty and de-escalating the civil unrest, but rather that needed attention is lost to unimportant international discussions and meetings abroad that he should rather send a cabinet member in his stead. I want to see Mr Barvata act like the Prime Minister that he should be or perhaps members of his party may begin to have the same questions as I and so many others.”
