Breaking News: Relief in Atlaborg as NCEF resolution fails to pass.

After days of debate within the North Concordian Council, the Eyjarian backed proposal of stripping the Kingdom of Atlalandr of its voting rights failed to get the ¾ majority needed, with the resolution gaining 10 out of the 12 votes needed for the resolution to be passed. With four nations voting against the proposal, those being West Atlalandr, Vistaraland, Hvaloaszna and Maanbriak. With it being reported that the Valoasznan representative to the North Concordian Council, Johanna Ny’Kenia, was one of West Atlalandr’s fiercest defenders during the debate. Despite the heavy criticism directed towards West Atlalandr coming most notably from Eyjarian, Dvalian and Tretridian officials. With Ny’Kenia having even gone as far to argue that the NCEF should support West Atlalandr’s operation rather than to oppose it.

West Atlalandr gained some support from the Vistari representative as well during the debate, who had called the West Atlalandian government’s approach to the matter of East Atlalandr ‘misguided but understandable’. Noting the importance that West Atlalandr serves as a partner and proclaiming it as an vital member of the NCEF. The West Atlalandian government has stated its thanks to Hvaloaszna and Vistaraland for their “informative” positions on the matter. With West Atlalandian representative, Jonathan Hanrik, stating that: “The Kingdom of Atlalandr will always remember those who stood by us, and those who stood against us.”

Despite failing to gain the needed votes to suspend West Atlalandr’s voting rights the Eyjarian government has made clear they will continue to put pressure on the matter in future council meetings. Calling the vote “disappointing” but stated that it still showed that the majority still stood strongly against the military mission taken by the Kingdom of Atlalandr. “Our country and our partners stand committed in avoiding further war, we urge our fellow members in the NCEF to change their positions and for West Atlalandr to end their invasion.”

The vote predominantly failed to gain the needed votes after the member states of Meremaa and Kaldrbuth both abstained on the matter, much to the chagrin of the pro-resolution side. Both Meremain and Kaldrbuthian officials has refused to comment over their positions when asked, with the latter simply stating: “We are still considering our position on the matter, we do not support war but we cannot forget the regime in Veridal is one of thugs not people.”

Though the result has come as a sigh of relief from many officials in West Atlalandr now, West Atlalandian fortunes has not yet turned as the conflict has been brought up to the IFSC by both the UCCS and Norgsveldet, in which it is expected that whatever resolution may be passed it would not be to the benefit of the Kingdom as West Atlalandr’s traditional ally is pushing for a resolution to demand an withdrawal of West Atlalandian troops. Whether or not West Atlalandr will follow through on such a demand has been put into question during the NCEF debate as representative Hanrik made clear to the NNN: “We are willing to stand alone in the face of the world if need be.”

Though diplomatically the situation for Atlaborg continues to be shaky as more countries withdraws their ambassadors from West Atlalandr, including an cancelled visit between the Limboese President, Hellen Portman, and the West Atlalandian King, Ragnar V, over the war as the Auroran nation has issued objections to the military operation enacted by the RDFA. Militarily West Atlalandian officials can celebrate as the RDFA has been reported to having successfully fully occupied the city of Frontborg, despite having only started the southern military offensive a week ago. With the RDFA now having its sights set upon the capital of East Atlalandr, Veridal, as it continues to advance with minimal casualties. The Senior Governor of Tilmeria, J. J. Northern, has issued an ultimatum during a press conference. Stating that should the RDFA fail to withdraw by the end of the week, then Tilmeria shall send the 100k strong army on its side of the East Atlalandian border into East Atlalandr to stop the RDFA advance. Proclaiming that: “We are not the ones asking for war, but we will not stand by when one is happening.”

With a collapsing frontline and with two of its biggest cities under occupation, it is questioned if the East Atlalandian military can even hold long enough for the ultimatum to set in. We will be updating on the case as it develops.

Breaking News: Kingdom of Atlalandr and Akuan Federal Republic of Hvaloaszna Announce Completion of Landmark Multilateral Economic Cooperation Agreement

Economic Ministers, Trade Union leaders and various important figures in the business community of both nations announced the signing of the ‘Trøyer’ initiative, a multi-billion dollar economic cooperation agreement. Which will massively expand and invest into the Hvaloaszna economy, across all three major islands through the various methods. Including using funds from the Atlalandian Sovereign Wealth Fund and more direct state owned foreign investment into infrastructure, namely railways and telecommunications.

While the topic of some controversy in Atlalandr, the conservative coalition stated the economic cooperation with Hvaloaszna was ‘overdue’ and would provide essential value-adding production to the Atlalandian mineral industries, in particular with the gold sector. Highlighting the number of untapped, natural harbors along the Valoasan coasts and ‘navigable rivers’ are perfect for large industrial transportation. Atlalandian Minister of Finance, Klara Ardak, further stated the cooperation will ‘transform’ the Atlalandian economy away from a mineral based economy, and into a more advanced service and tech based economy similar to Norgsveldet. Some Osfjordian based economists such as Cinder Askfall, highlighted this would be a major change in the mineral market trade within the NCEF. The traditional method of raw mineral exports would be to Norgsveldet which would export it to the Federation, or refine the minerals internally. Then the refined minerals would be used for manufacturing within the Federation or exported back to Norgsveldet which is then exported to various manufactories around the NCEF.

The agreement additionally provides grants to move factories into Hvaloaszna, a move that could be seen as highlighted by Mrs. Askfall could rub other manufacturer based economy nations the wrong way, such as Tangrland. The Atlalandian and Valoaszan agreement will allow large manufacturing companies within the NCEF to purchase certain numbers of sectors of land below market rate at a loss for the isles nations. Moreover, a jointly ran job training program for multiple job fields, such as construction, forklift driver certification and many others. Principal Steward for Education for Hvaloaszna, Ny’Åge H’akmi alongside with the Principal Steward for Economic Planning Ny’Børgg Jakhelln jointly announced that job training will provide a job guarantee for those who signed up for the program.

Core part of the agreement, involving the Akuan labor unions within Hvaloaszna both state-owned and non-government owned, was a late entry, being added into the discussion in late February this year. While the general consensus of the labor unions wasn’t a perfect deal, it was mostly ‘suitable’ with a few victories for the unions being added in. Such as certain Akuan holidays being observed and paid time off for. As well a renegotiation of wages guaranteed every two years, among others small changes.

The Valoasan Akuan Party was enthusiastic about the final signing of this agreement, having been in the works for nearly nine years. The Akuan Party has been by far, the biggest pusher of the agreement, with a firm belief that the agreement will be the first of many economic cooperation agreements that will increase living standards and wages in Hvaloaszna. With Principal Stewards for Economic Planning, Education, Labor and Pensions, and the Minister for Energy taking leading roles in negotiations in the final aspects of the agreement alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The First Minister of Hvaloaszna Harald Ny’øker, announcing that the agreement is essential in shifting the Valoasan economy away from agricultural commodities based one, into a far more diversified economy.

“While the negotiations have been… long and difficult at times, we are happy that we have finally come to an agreement. This will be a boost for both our nations, and a step for improving Hvaloaszna’s ties with the NCEF. Integration and cooperation is key in the difficult world we are in.” Mrs. Ardak said during the press conference together with the First Minister, with the two shaking hands in front of the cameras.

Breaking News: Grand Gothir Esker III steps down amids health difficulties.

Esker III, the Grand Gothir of Orthodox Gustafist Temple, announced in a recent sermon that he will be stepping down as Grand Gothir. The eighty year old Gothir having served as head of the temple since his appointance by Harald III in 1994. While Esker has kept details of his deteriorating health hidden from the public, it has been speculated for a while his health has been on heavy decline with the Gothir reportedly having a stroke during Yule. An official ceremony will be held next weekend between the Fylkir and the Grand Gothir to officialise the Grand Gothir’s retirement. With Fylkir Olav I stating that:

“Esker has served as High Gothir of Osfjord and Grand Gothir of the Orthodox Temple for a long time, he now is deserving of time for rest with his family. His dedication to the gods and our people is remarkable. May the gods bless him with further life and wisdom.”

With the announcement of the Grand Gothir stepping down an Truting will be gathered between the Fylkir and his Majesty, Olav I, and all the high standing High Gothirs within the Orthodox branch of Gustafistic Ulvriktru. With the Fylkir holding the duty to appoint one of the High Gothirs as the branch’s newest Grand Gothir. A choice being purely made by the Fylkir since the establishment of the title, but with dozens High Gothirs to choose from and the choice being the Fylkir’s pick to represent what is 171 million Orthodox Gustafists that spread around the world. It is a decision that would be heavy on the Fylkir’s shoulders.

Heavy speculations have put that the next Grand Gothir could come from Gondwana, in large part both the large population growth among the Ulvriktru populations of Meremaa and Tangrland, but also new political focus placed on Nyveldet by the new Norgsveltian government. With around 60 million Orthodox Gustafists having their origins in Gondwana as well. Making up over ⅓ of all Orthodox Gustafists around the world. Such a choice would break the century-long history of the Grand Gothir being picked from within the Concordian Continent and within the Ulvrikian Core. Though any such decision could cause internal strife as the most likely High Gothirs to be picked from Gondwana were all been estimated to be very traditionalist in doctrine.

With Elyin Elyindotur, High Gothir of Kalaborgdurg, having previously stated her “disagreement” with an “Pro-LGBTQ” speech that the Fylkir made on his 20 years anniversary as the monarch of the Crown Realm in 2022. In which Elyindotur emphasised that she agreed on certain aspects of the speech, but also her disagreements. Stating that: “It is a speech marked by the Fylkir’s commitment as King, not by his role as Fylkir. Different occasions will need different messages.”

This also been further emphasised by Elyindotur with her stating her opposition to the movement of legalisation of sex marriage within Meremaa. Though in a recent interview in 2024 having softened her stance after reports of increased assaults directed towards same sex couples in Meremaa, by urging people to show mercy to each other and held a sermon in which she condemned the violence. Stating that: “Not all sins need to be punished.”

Another Gondwanan candidate being Tar Cihrik, High Gothir of Rikselve, from Tangrland. While not making any direct comments about the Fylkir’s previous pro-LGBTQ statement, he has reiterated his opposition to same-sex marriage within temple grounds. In which he considers marriage to be only between members of the opposite sex. Calling any attempts to normalise such marriages as a: “Devious trick from Loki.” But like Elyindotur reiterated his condemnation to violence against the LGBTQ community by comparing such actions to: “Hitting a child for being lied to by an adult.”

Though, out of all the more traditionalist choices for Grand Gothir, the High Gothir of Wergby, Matilda Militedatur, is seen as the most conservative choice by far. With Militedatur being known to be close to several members of the Fatherland Party, including the leader and current minister of finance, Rosia Sannadatur. Though publicly claiming to be “above” party politics, her statements about the LGBTQ and Duarist tieflings have often reiterated similar sentiments made by the Fatherland Party. Most notably being her having “suggested” that a tiefling’s lack of faith to all the Ulvriktru gods is directly connected to their own suffering.

In which along many statements she has been made including that: “The law of the land may say what it says, but word of the saga trumps any word from a judge. Sins must be fought one way or another, deviancy cannot triumph over order.” Often seen as directly stating her opposition to the Norgsveltian High Court overruling Nyveldian Administrative Council’s attempt on banning same-sex marriage in Nyveldet.

In a response to NNN request for a statement from Arch-Gothir Gaëtane III Jaubert-Frida of the Imperial Branch, the head of the branch responded with: “This is a Orthodox branch matter, not an Imperial Gustafist matter. We have no concern on who is or has not been decided selected for Grand Gothir of their branch nor should any Imperial Gustafist be concerned about it. A good Ulvriktruar should be more concerned with their own local Gothirs, family and their community.”

The NNN had requested a statement from the Arch-Gothir as a result of Imperial Gustafism, also known as Hjørdism, being the second largest Gustafist subbranch and is among the Fylkir’s religious advisors on all matters related to Ulvriktru. One shared with Grand Gothir Esker III, and the Grand Gothir of Carlist Gustafism, Wilan I of Blåskog. With there being also large Orthodox minority populations within several Hjørdist majority nations such as Helslandr and Kaldrbuth, it was contemplated that the Arch-Gothir’s position could affect the Fylkir’s decision.

Among the reformist wing within the Orthodox high clergy has come candidates from a wide range but generally smaller nations. Main picks in this direction have been the High Gothirs from Eyjaria, Ymirland and Helslandr. With the only one of the three to have a majority Orthodox population being Eyjaria, with it being only around 12% of Helslandr’s population and around 25% of Ymirland’s population. Despite this fact the Orthodox High Gothirs from the later two have been popular for their heavy sapiantarian efforts in both nation’s civil wars.

With the Orthodox High Gothir of Jötungrad, Nol Ársaion, which also happens to be the only tiefling candidate and one the youngest candidates at the age of 48. Ársaion became popular within Helslandr for her active efforts in helping civilians during the country’s civil war, with her organising aid to those who fled suppression from the nationalists. Efforts she kept on doing as more refugees turned back to Helslandr. With her having also made comments urging “People of the sagas” to come together to help rebuild Helslandr, and urged everyone in the country to celebrate its diversity rather than to destroy it.

While not making any direct comments about her country’s politics and the election that was held in 2022, she had stated her “deep satisfaction” in the coronation of Astrid I as Queen of Helslandr. Stating in a ceremony that: “Our country is on the path of spiritual healing, the gods have tested us again and again, yet everytime we prevailed. We can now start anew.”

Not much is known about her stances on LGBTQ matters with Ársaion having not made any statements about it. With the only statement that the NNN had found even closely related to the matter having been a Pigeon post in which she proclaimed her approval of the Fylkir’s anniversary speech. Stating: “Once more the Fylkir shows how he has been blessed by the Allmother’s wisdom.”

Another reformist candidate has been the High Gothir of Kyinster, Tyker Sjelkyi, being the youngest candidate at the age of 46 and one of the few kemonomimi ones as well. Having served as an army Gothir for North Ymirland during the Ymir Civil War. With him becoming High Gothir three years after the end of it in 2022. Prior to which he spent helping veterans of the civil war.

As a local Gothir having officialised several same sex marriages, simply stating that “our souls finds who it finds”. Though not speaking openly about the matter, had called for the Orthodox Temple to be more “open minded” and to not be too entrenched with “dogma”.

Though he became controversial for his criticism of materialism back in 2020. So much so that he had gotten nicknamed the ‘Red Gothir’ by foreign media. Stating that: “Money has a way of corrupting the soul, and making good folk turn bad. The focus on material gain keeps you weighed down, and that causes internal strife with the soul.”

Despite such a nickname he has not been considered most controversial out of the reformist candidates, with such an honour going to the High Gothir of Sverdstrand, Kirkar Makbor, having been in charge of several reformist changes within the Orthodox Temple in Eyjaria. Having vocally supported the LGBTQ community within Eyjaria and abroad, having long criticized opponents to same sex marriage and trans healthcare. Making a statement in 2018, much to criticism of fellow Gothirs at the time, that “One shall not forget that Odin themself was not above the changing of sex”. With Makbor arguing the importance of ensuring the Ulvriktru faith is inclusive to everyone, proclaiming that the warrior spirit was within everyone and that much can be learned from those who endure hardships based on prejudices, and that if one learned from them than it would strengthen one’s own warrior spirit.

Though within Eyjaria he has not met much criticism for his position on the LGBTQ community, he has been divisive for other political positions he has taken. Most notably being his aggressive support behind Eyjaria’s military involvement in different conflicts related to its immediate neighbors. Including publicly supporting the Eyjarian take over of the island of Boreyjr, the stationing of troops to Kurandia, Eyjaria’s intervention into West Borea Civil War together with Norgsveldet and the Federation, and the UCA intervention into Helslandr. Having even gone as far as to having blessed ammunition used by a group of Eyjarian marines at their request prior to their landing on the beaches of Boreyjr.

When asked about the incident by the Kyrloth News Central questioning if it wouldn’t be better for religious leaders like himself to push for peace instead of conflict he replied by proclaiming that: “We must pray for the upholding of peace, but we must as well be ready for war. The saga is quite clear about this as well.” He also gotten under fire for his opinions on how some POWs been treated by coalition forces during the UCA intervention into Helslandr, by responding to fears and suspicions on nationalists troops being treated poorly by making a single statement about the matter: “Hirdists do not have souls, as such no soul was harmed.”

These are just some of the several candidates for Grand Gothir in which the Fylkir is to pick from. It is expected that the Truting will officially end by the end of July. In which the Fylkir will have officially appointed a new Grand Gothir. We will keep updating the situation as more information is given about the process.

Breaking News: West Atlalandr announces their complete withdrawal following IF resolution

In an sudden a press conference this morning held in Atlaborg the West Atlalandian Prime Minister, Nikkolas Bjarnvikdal, announced that the country’s supposed ‘military stabilisation mission’ have been a success and that the West Atlalandian Army will be withdrawing from East Atlalandian territory. This happened only days after an IFSC resolution condemned the nation’s military operation and demanded a cessation of hostilities, and a withdrawal from the country. The Prime Minister however proclaimed that the announcement of the withdrawal had nothing to do with the resolution, and insisted that the goals of the stabilisation mission had been met. Though he refused to reveal what the said goals are, stating them to be confidential.

During the same press conference the Prime Minister also revealed that their coalition partner the far right, Ulvrikian People’s Party (UPP), will be leaving the government. With the UPP leader and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oskar Henriksøn, having stated during the press conference that he firmly disagreed with the decision and saw no possible way of continuing the cooperation. With Mr. Henriksøn also made clear he will not be seeking coalition talks with Bjarnvikdal’s Ulvriktru Democrats (UD) even after this year’s election. With commentators also noticing the UPP leader refusing to shake hands with his fellow UD ministers as he left the press conference.

The news came as a major sigh of relief and celebration across East Atlalandr as troops from the West Atlalandian Army were headed towards the nation’s capital prior to the announcement of the withdrawal, forcing the East Atlalandian government to relocate to the small city of Tarskby. With the East Atlalandian Prime Director proclaiming today as a victory against “imperialism” and a victory for “international solidarity” during a speech in said city. During which she revealed that parts of the Tilmerian Army will be sent to help the East Atlalandian military establish control over their country again. With it being expected that opposition forces within East Atlalandr will attempt to take hold in the evacuated territories.

Prime Minister Bjørn Varg stated in government telegram that Norgsveldet is thankful that the West Atlalandian government decided to follow the IF resolution, and stated in a longer statement that: “Bjarnvikdal’s decision to cooperate with rest of the international community in the face of internal opposition should be admired and praised. It was the right decision, and everyone on Concord can sleep calmer as a result.”

It is not yet known if the halted NCEF grants and investments to West Atlalandr will be resumed as a result of the end of their military operations, but the NNN can confirm that West Atlalandian representative to NCEF, Jonathan Hanrik, has stated it is a topic he will bring up at soonest possibility. With Norgsveltian representative, Asker Vantsøn, stated he was positive in its resumption.

Despite much international approval to the military withdrawal it has come with heavy criticism and opposition within West Atlalandr. With the ‘stabilisation mission’ having been largely popular among the public, it has been estimated that around 64% of West Atlalandians either strongly or somewhat approved of the conflict according to different opinion polls taken in the country. Despite this the various parties among the Liberal Opposition have not had an uniformed position over the conflict and as such the subsequent withdrawal.

With the leader of the Republican Party (RP), Pål Ertart, stating that he welcomes the withdrawal but criticised the government for doing it in such a late manner. In which he accused Bjarnvikdal for having let himself be driven by the “fascistic madness” from the UPP. With RP being known as the largest party in parliament to be opposed to the war, and the only one from the Liberal Opposition. With only Socialist and Akuan parties in parliament being among other parties directly opposing the conflict.

With both the Liberal Union Party (LUP) and the Union of National Liberals (UNL) having supported the conflict though having criticised the way the government had conducted it. With the LUP leader and current opposition leader, Marion Tilinia, having called Bjarnvikdal’s handling for “careless” and “incompetent”. Despite this Mrs. Tilinia has refused to comment if she considered the military withdrawal itself a mistake or not, proclaiming that it will be dependent on the opinions of the country’s military leaders not hers.

In contrast the leader of the UNL, Henrete Kalkvitser, has been the government’s harshest critics over the withdrawal. With the liberal party leader having become massively popular in recent years for her involvement in the social media sphere and being called for using populist rhetoric. With her most recent video on Pigeon being seen as clearest example of this with her having stated: “The decision by Bjarnvikdal’s government to withdraw comes from the source of fundamentally one thing, his own personal cowardice. The sacrifice of our soldiers will now be forgotten, hundreds of mothers now have to bury their sons and daughters with the knowledge they died for nothing. Life has been snuffed out, young life, and what does Bjarnvikdal have to show for it? Nothing. This is a national embarrassment.”

During same video Mrs. Kalkvitser promised that an liberal government with a strong UNL behind it will ensure a major increase in benefits for veterans and current serving military personnel. Alongside promises to tackling rising costs in housing proclaiming that large building efforts and cutting of regulations shall occur.
