Breaking News: Relief in Atlaborg as NCEF resolution fails to pass.
After days of debate within the North Concordian Council, the Eyjarian backed proposal of stripping the Kingdom of Atlalandr of its voting rights failed to get the ¾ majority needed, with the resolution gaining 10 out of the 12 votes needed for the resolution to be passed. With four nations voting against the proposal, those being West Atlalandr, Vistaraland, Hvaloaszna and Maanbriak. With it being reported that the Valoasznan representative to the North Concordian Council, Johanna Ny’Kenia, was one of West Atlalandr’s fiercest defenders during the debate. Despite the heavy criticism directed towards West Atlalandr coming most notably from Eyjarian, Dvalian and Tretridian officials. With Ny’Kenia having even gone as far to argue that the NCEF should support West Atlalandr’s operation rather than to oppose it.
West Atlalandr gained some support from the Vistari representative as well during the debate, who had called the West Atlalandian government’s approach to the matter of East Atlalandr ‘misguided but understandable’. Noting the importance that West Atlalandr serves as a partner and proclaiming it as an vital member of the NCEF. The West Atlalandian government has stated its thanks to Hvaloaszna and Vistaraland for their “informative” positions on the matter. With West Atlalandian representative, Jonathan Hanrik, stating that: “The Kingdom of Atlalandr will always remember those who stood by us, and those who stood against us.”
Despite failing to gain the needed votes to suspend West Atlalandr’s voting rights the Eyjarian government has made clear they will continue to put pressure on the matter in future council meetings. Calling the vote “disappointing” but stated that it still showed that the majority still stood strongly against the military mission taken by the Kingdom of Atlalandr. “Our country and our partners stand committed in avoiding further war, we urge our fellow members in the NCEF to change their positions and for West Atlalandr to end their invasion.”
The vote predominantly failed to gain the needed votes after the member states of Meremaa and Kaldrbuth both abstained on the matter, much to the chagrin of the pro-resolution side. Both Meremain and Kaldrbuthian officials has refused to comment over their positions when asked, with the latter simply stating: “We are still considering our position on the matter, we do not support war but we cannot forget the regime in Veridal is one of thugs not people.”
Though the result has come as a sigh of relief from many officials in West Atlalandr now, West Atlalandian fortunes has not yet turned as the conflict has been brought up to the IFSC by both the UCCS and Norgsveldet, in which it is expected that whatever resolution may be passed it would not be to the benefit of the Kingdom as West Atlalandr’s traditional ally is pushing for a resolution to demand an withdrawal of West Atlalandian troops. Whether or not West Atlalandr will follow through on such a demand has been put into question during the NCEF debate as representative Hanrik made clear to the NNN: “We are willing to stand alone in the face of the world if need be.”
Though diplomatically the situation for Atlaborg continues to be shaky as more countries withdraws their ambassadors from West Atlalandr, including an cancelled visit between the Limboese President, Hellen Portman, and the West Atlalandian King, Ragnar V, over the war as the Auroran nation has issued objections to the military operation enacted by the RDFA. Militarily West Atlalandian officials can celebrate as the RDFA has been reported to having successfully fully occupied the city of Frontborg, despite having only started the southern military offensive a week ago. With the RDFA now having its sights set upon the capital of East Atlalandr, Veridal, as it continues to advance with minimal casualties. The Senior Governor of Tilmeria, J. J. Northern, has issued an ultimatum during a press conference. Stating that should the RDFA fail to withdraw by the end of the week, then Tilmeria shall send the 100k strong army on its side of the East Atlalandian border into East Atlalandr to stop the RDFA advance. Proclaiming that: “We are not the ones asking for war, but we will not stand by when one is happening.”
With a collapsing frontline and with two of its biggest cities under occupation, it is questioned if the East Atlalandian military can even hold long enough for the ultimatum to set in. We will be updating on the case as it develops.

Breaking News: Kingdom of Atlalandr and Akuan Federal Republic of Hvaloaszna Announce Completion of Landmark Multilateral Economic Cooperation Agreement
Economic Ministers, Trade Union leaders and various important figures in the business community of both nations announced the signing of the ‘Trøyer’ initiative, a multi-billion dollar economic cooperation agreement. Which will massively expand and invest into the Hvaloaszna economy, across all three major islands through the various methods. Including using funds from the Atlalandian Sovereign Wealth Fund and more direct state owned foreign investment into infrastructure, namely railways and telecommunications.
While the topic of some controversy in Atlalandr, the conservative coalition stated the economic cooperation with Hvaloaszna was ‘overdue’ and would provide essential value-adding production to the Atlalandian mineral industries, in particular with the gold sector. Highlighting the number of untapped, natural harbors along the Valoasan coasts and ‘navigable rivers’ are perfect for large industrial transportation. Atlalandian Minister of Finance, Klara Ardak, further stated the cooperation will ‘transform’ the Atlalandian economy away from a mineral based economy, and into a more advanced service and tech based economy similar to Norgsveldet. Some Osfjordian based economists such as Cinder Askfall, highlighted this would be a major change in the mineral market trade within the NCEF. The traditional method of raw mineral exports would be to Norgsveldet which would export it to the Federation, or refine the minerals internally. Then the refined minerals would be used for manufacturing within the Federation or exported back to Norgsveldet which is then exported to various manufactories around the NCEF.
The agreement additionally provides grants to move factories into Hvaloaszna, a move that could be seen as highlighted by Mrs. Askfall could rub other manufacturer based economy nations the wrong way, such as Tangrland. The Atlalandian and Valoaszan agreement will allow large manufacturing companies within the NCEF to purchase certain numbers of sectors of land below market rate at a loss for the isles nations. Moreover, a jointly ran job training program for multiple job fields, such as construction, forklift driver certification and many others. Principal Steward for Education for Hvaloaszna, Ny’Åge H’akmi alongside with the Principal Steward for Economic Planning Ny’Børgg Jakhelln jointly announced that job training will provide a job guarantee for those who signed up for the program.
Core part of the agreement, involving the Akuan labor unions within Hvaloaszna both state-owned and non-government owned, was a late entry, being added into the discussion in late February this year. While the general consensus of the labor unions wasn’t a perfect deal, it was mostly ‘suitable’ with a few victories for the unions being added in. Such as certain Akuan holidays being observed and paid time off for. As well a renegotiation of wages guaranteed every two years, among others small changes.
The Valoasan Akuan Party was enthusiastic about the final signing of this agreement, having been in the works for nearly nine years. The Akuan Party has been by far, the biggest pusher of the agreement, with a firm belief that the agreement will be the first of many economic cooperation agreements that will increase living standards and wages in Hvaloaszna. With Principal Stewards for Economic Planning, Education, Labor and Pensions, and the Minister for Energy taking leading roles in negotiations in the final aspects of the agreement alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The First Minister of Hvaloaszna Harald Ny’øker, announcing that the agreement is essential in shifting the Valoasan economy away from agricultural commodities based one, into a far more diversified economy.
“While the negotiations have been… long and difficult at times, we are happy that we have finally come to an agreement. This will be a boost for both our nations, and a step for improving Hvaloaszna’s ties with the NCEF. Integration and cooperation is key in the difficult world we are in.” Mrs. Ardak said during the press conference together with the First Minister, with the two shaking hands in front of the cameras.
