No, no and no.
1: TEP was the target because Gnid was inactive. It had been said a feeder could not be taken and held in an environment including Influence, and that irritated a lot of the older Feeder warriors, myself included. We proved otherwise. The biggest problem we had, per se, was the RolePlay aspect we started with.
Every empire member was under cover at first, and we were heavily a Roleplay government. I, as Rahl, posted an opening message that was taken literally and that lead to a lot of bad blood. Looking back (even a week later), we went oops.
2: We did not crush TEP under our foot. I have been invited to TEP as a citizen, a former Empire member was a delegate. Take that for how you like, in terms of how TEP treats us. I havent had any issues with this region in years. And since we never took it to harm TEP, there was never a problem to start with.
3: The Empire had nothing to do with Osiris. We changed our names on IRC once, to our old Empire persona, for shock value and because half of us were drunk. Beware NS wiki its facts are only as stable as the perspective of the person who wrote it. With that said, Ill now have to have some words with the owner thanks for pointing it out.
If you want to know why we did what we did as Empire personnel in TEP, you have to ask a member of the Cadre from that time. Not to be argumentative, thats just common sense.

My perspective is a bit different. The Empire was a bunch of brutish knuckleheads. NationStates is a game and they wanted to prove they could take over one of the feeder regions. And they did. But they couldn’t hold it.
It wasn’t the RolePlay aspect that was problematic. They behaved very poorly with many of the members of the region.
The role play was the “you are all filth” and “you must bow down to us” nonsense.
The poor behavior came when they attacked individuals. Personally, I was accused of being unethical and a cheater. And just as they were defeated and left the region, they banned and ejected a bunch of other nations just out of spite.
I was not looking for trouble or influence when it all started. My only interest in NS was the World Assembly and answering issues. I did that for a long time, minding my own business in TEP. Then, these knuckleheads appeared and I learned to play the endo game. I wrote hundreds of telegrams to nations in TEP asking them to endorse Dannistan and myself. I wasnt particularly keen to be Delegate. I just wanted the reign of foolishness to end.
I got lots of help. There were many more experienced players and raiders who alerted me to some of the strategy and tactics.
The real heroes were the nations of TEP. The nations wanted a democratic region and we made that happen.
Some months later I disappeared from the region. I’ve returned for a look around and maybe I can stay long enough to be helpful.
