The Chēgōng Temple in central Pingjing has been closed to the public after a huge turnout raised concerns of a human stampede.
Reportedly, over 2,500 people turned up at the 100 year old building to pray for good luck and prosperity in the Bai Lungese New Year of the snake.
But the unusually large turnout forced police to cordon off the temple. Despite the precautionary measures, at least 200 people have been injured albeit none have been serious.

FENTANYL ADDICT BUSINESSMAN GETS 10 YEARS IN JAIL.
A businessman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for admitting to selling the drug fentanyl to various individuals.
Tang Sīkè admitted to selling the regulated drug between 2020 and 2023, some of whom are under the age of 18. Tang also confessed to developing a drug habit after his private equity firm collapsed in 2019 and sold the drug to make a living.
Mr Tang will also be required to attend drug rehab alongside serving his prison sentence.
