DINE AND DASH THIEF GET 2 YEARS IN PRISON, FINED BL$10,000.

A dine and dash thief has been sentenced to 2 years in prison for not paying for his food at Yang’s Seafood restaurant in Pingjing.

Tien Fēngfēi who has a previous history of doing the same thing, remained defiant in his act back in May this year, calling the restaurant’s policy of banning patrons from having a kip as evil.

9 other dine and dash offenders also received the same fine and prison sentence. All of the offenders will also be barred from dining at the restaurant again.

JOCKEY TO ATTEND DISCIPLINARY HEARING OVER HORSE DOPING CHARGES.

Jockey Hā Dīng will be asked to attend a disciplinary hearing surrounding allegations that he fed his horse Silver Majestic performance enchancing drugs.

On July 4, his horse initially won the Great Sung Derby by a wide margins. During a routine drugs check, officials found traces of perfomance enchaning drugs in the stallion’s urine sample.

The date for the hearing will begin on 20th July.

DRUG REFORM RESOLUTION PASSES IN W.A.

The World Assembly has voted in favour of Regarding Recreational Drugs, a drug reform resolution.

Under the resolution, nations have the right to “legalise, decriminalise, or forbid the possession, distribution, production, use, sale and purchase of drugs for recreational purposes within their jurisdiction” as well as forbidding any nation from importing drugs not available in their nation for recreational drug use.

But Bai Lung has voted against the resolution, arguing that it does not go far enough.

PARKING METER FEES INCREASE EFFECTIVE FROM TODAY.

Parking meter fees in Pingjing has came into effect today.

It is the first parking fee hike in 2 years. Vehicles parked in a designated spot will now be charged at BL$1.50 per 10 minutes for up to 5 hours per day.

The Pingjing council has defended the price hikes following a mixed reception.

PINGJING POLICE APPEALS TO PUBLIC OVER VANDALISED PARKING METRE.

Pingjing police are appealing to the public to find the individual who vandalised 10 parking metres in the city centre.

CCTV footage shows a man wearing blue denim overalls smashing 10 parking metres with what appears to be a makeshift club. The incident took place in Chálǐ Street.

“It is no coincidence that the vandalism took place a day after the parking fee hikes” said an online user in a sarcastic tone.

Dong Men MLA Ai Sha has called for nation to repeal the resolution Chemical Weapons Accord at the World Assembly.

The repeal move claimed the reason for repeal was that nations were "Frustrated that the resolution makes no effort to reduce damage to the environment that might be caused by chemical weapons, despite explicitly permitting defensive use of chemical weapons to “injure or destroy…the environment”.

SUPREME COURT JAILS MAN FOR ESPIONAGE.

The Supreme Court has jailed a man for hacking into the Bank of Bai Lung’s website and selling information to a Kashgar figure close to current leader Jumyri Andropev.

Banker Ma Jīnnóng admitted to hacking into the Bank of Bai Lung’s website, gaining access to economic data previously unavailable to the public. Mr Ma also admitted to attempting to sell the info to Leopold Laffroff, a man who is believed to be one of Andropev’s closest aides.

Due to the egregious nature of his act, Mr Ma has been handed a life sentence for his acts.

Typhoon Tiandi has disrupted daily activities in Bai Lung, resulting in half of the capital flooded in places.

The category 5 typhoon reached Port To waters at 0900 yesterday morning and reached downtown Pingjing 45 minutes later. The Meteorological Administration of Bai Lung has warned people not to travel unless necessary.

Reports of blackout in multiple cities have been reported.

Over 600 trees have been cleared in the Pingjing Metropolitan Area following the destruction of Typhoon Tiandi, the council has confirmed.

48 hours ago saw typhoon causing havoc in the country with many train services being cancelled.

A long line of eager attendees for the 3 day sports activities snaked its way around the Grand Central Pingjing Stadiun, streching beyond the steps leading to the venue’s front entrance.

INDY JEWELLER ARRESTED FOR SELLING SUSPECTED FAKE DIAMONDS.

An independent jeweller has been arrested by police on suspicion of selling fake diamonds to unsuspecting customers.

Liang Sēndì, a travelling jeweller salesman for over 20 years, allegedly sold a dozen fake diamond rings to customers leading to the same number filing a complaint to the police.

Despite his denial of selling fake diamonds, Mr Liang is likely to be charged for the offense and a court hearing will be held later in the year.

Five people have been thrown out from the Grand Central Pingjing Stadium after they’ve successfully entered the venue without producing a ticket to enter the event.

The offenders simply ran past security and entered the main hall, only to be promptly restrained by security and thrown out.

POLICE ARREST MAN RUNNING FAKE EMBASSY.

Pingjing police have arrested a man running a fake embassy from a rented apartment in northern Pingjing and conning holiday goers of their money with promises of a holiday trip there or emigrating there.

Self declared love guru Pang Qínà who claims to be the ambassador to the fictional nation of Xīn Zhóu or mandril with a population of 10,000 people.

Following a tip-off, police raided his apartment in the northern part of the capital and found printed flyers of his fictional nation, several thousand dollars and the clothes remotely resembling a Kashgar shaman. Mr Pang was found hiding in a makeshift hidey hole and was ordered to leave the hiding area.

3 DAY SPORTING EVENT HAILED AS A SUCCESS.

The organisers of the Suzhou Sports Festival at the Grand Central Pingjing Stadium have been hailed as a success despite the hijacking of the free event on the opening day.

Over 50,000 people have attended the event across the three days with many taking in an array of sports activities ranging from table tennis to futsal.

Prizes totalling BL$200,000 were given out in the 3 day events. The largest prize was a ticket to a watch at Port To Stadium.
