PRIME MINISTER PUTS PRESSURE ON RIKEVAARLAND

Prime Minister Riannar Karmer has applied pressure on Rikevaarland officials following escalation of labour strikes in Teieleie, a city in its eastern extremity. The prime minister told Rikevaarland officials that they needed to approach the labour insurrection with ‘absolute caution’ after strikes turned into armed conflict in the city streets, and following incontravertible proof of videos shared online of excessive police brutality to achieve their goals.

The prime minister condemned the police brutality, and went on to say that the quality of workers rights in the country is ‘far, far from satisfactory’ and that Rikevaarland officials had a long way to go before such in their nation would meet global standards. Here is part of what he had to say:

“The world will look on at this small city in this small place in abysmal incertitude after horrific reports of armed police violating species rights emerged. Such unspeakable actions should be relegated to the history books and certainly should not live on in this century. It is not acceptable, and we the world do not approve. Sort the chronic poor treatment of your labourers out in a manner that is up to par to that of the world average.”

The House of Representatives are moving to pass a bill this afternoon which would see Morstaybishlian businesses in Rikevaarland close and return to the homeland, in an attempt to cut exports to the country.

GOVERNMENT RESPONDS TO RODENIAN SITUATION

Earlier today, President Diego Corbinn withdrew Axdel’s commitment from the Puntalian Compromise Treaty. Blaming it on economic decline in the Axdelian steel industry and sociopolitical flaws in an ‘unresolved’ Puntalian issue, Axdel applied immediate pressure on Rodenia’s leader Kirk Santon, demanding he withdrew from Puntalia, demanding he resigned, and moving the Axdelian West Fleet towards Rodenia’s east coast. The state sponsored press Rodenian LIVE reported on the situation, as well as Kirk Santon’s response, citing Corbinn as a communist and describing how communists plot to bring down Rodenia’s ultracapitalist ideals. Kirk Santon unilaterally declined Axdel’s demands.

Norgsveldet, Durakia and Alksearia also withdrew from the treaty, hours later, and Norgsveldet has begun mobilising their own forces towards the Rodenian west coast. Other countries have rallied behind Axdel, and some countries have called out Axdel.

On the same day as this dramatic rise in tension, Packilvania announced they had come to a large economic trade deal with Rodenia, with the Arcturian nation signing on to both of Packilvania’s Preferential Market Access Program (PMAP) and Foreign Military Assistance Program (FMAP), which involves the relaxation of currency restrictions, the harmonisation of trade and movement, various reductions on tariffs on goods and services. At this time, Packilvania still retains a military presence in Rodenia following their aid in 2020.

The Morstaybishlian camp had been quiet for the afternoon, until the prime minister came out from Flarin Street with his address, which was reported by world media. The prime minister said in a compelling speech that ‘there is always a diplomatic means to end a hostile atmosphere or conflict’ and that, whilst the prime minister did not take the side of either Axdel or Rodenia, he described Axdel’s naval maneuovers as ‘the first step in the wrong direction as it will ineivitably escalate unwanted tensions’, which Morstaybishlian intelligence has announced that indeed it had, with Rodenia’s own ships being moved into defensive positions within its territorial waters and reports of Packilvania’s diplomat to Axdel issuing a formal warning from Bingöl. The prime minister has invited Diego Corbinn to an emergency meeting in Sani Bursil which will take place tomorrow morning, on the 13th of February.

The prime minister has called upon Johanna Sverdrup and others rallying forces in the Impelanzan Ocean to also try and find a non-violent means to ending this complicated situation, ‘even if it takes years’. The prime minister recognised in his speech that Johanna Sverdrup is not a person to listen to Morstaybishlia, but with Norgsveldet bound to protect them the first time by a collective defensive clause in an alliance, and not so this time; many people would percieve it as their government instigating unnecessary loss of life, and will find a second war unacceptable. The prime minister mentioned how she was in a weaker political position following the 2020 election, with many parties refusing to form a coalition, or demanding that Norgsveldet’s foreign policy is reigned in. The PM said this resentment towards the Sverdrup administration will only grow if she commits to war.

MARISLIA TO LEAVE GREAT MORSTAYBISHLIA

Great Morstaybishlia NOT SO GREAT as the provinces of Eastern Caltharus, also ‘Marislia’ voted tonight for their INDEPENDENCE.

50.005 percent voted for independence, and 49.995 percent voted to remain. Polling stations through the day were double, triple and quadrouple checking their results, leading to a delay of over six hours. It came right down to the wire, but Romilda von Anzitter’s MARIP has already begun celebrating with champagne in Fort Nocturne on this historical night, a night that conveys a strong message to the world that independence is achievable. But to others, allies of Morstaybishlia, is casts a very dangerous precedent. With this result, who knows what Morstaybishlia’s allies might think, or how companies might act. The Karmer Administration has sponsored this referendum as legitimate and has ushered the country’s allies to support ‘any decision the people decide’.

With a voter turnout of 75.4 percent, over 21.3 million people turned up at polling stations or via online votecast. OF THAT, a difference of JUST TWO THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY ONE PEOPLE (2,131) changed the fate of Morstaybishlia tomorrow. Margins so close that nobody could predict. 50.005 percent voted in favour, including Romilda von Anzitter, who says this:

“And so it is settled. The people have voted! What a wonderful night, what a wonderful night! The stars do shine on those who make wishes! Morstaybishlia today, Marislia tomorrow!”

Protests have begun across the cities of Kastell Nozvezh, Rysdu and Kêrmell; cities that had a remain turnouts of at least 83.8 percent.

News at One:

DATE NOT YET DETERMINED FOR MARISLIAN SECESSION

Politicians haven’t decided on a set date for the secession of Marislia as a nation state from Great Morstaybishlia. Mounting pressure is on for the government to agree on a border to draw Marislia; over 3/10ths of the resident population of cities in Lambertupol and Cavenhelm and 2/10ths in Aurus have been protesting for four days non stop to remain apart of the MBE. With no official border as Marislia consists of provinces, all with ranging council areas which voted differently, it will be a challenge to make everyone happy.

Morstaybishlia’s third biggest naval dockyard in Aurus thrown into doubt. Housing over a quarter of the Imperial Navy’s Home Fleet, many speculate how military assets will be divided. MBS Glasgore, the flagship of Morstaybishlia’s brand new and most expensive aircraft carrier ever built; is currently undergoing maintenance in Aurus dockyards for at least another 6 months.

Morstaybishlia also owns many other military installations, airbases, and apart of its nuclear deterrance in Marislia across various silos. A date the government decides must take this into account.

Marislia will not be granted immediate entry to the UNAC and would thus need to go through its formal application process, a process which could take years. The government would need a fullproof economic and border plan with Marislia as it would mean another hard border.

News at Eight:

ONE MONTH ON FROM THE MARISLIAN INDEPENDENCE REFERENDUM

A month has passed since Marislia voted for its independence in the most anticipated referendum the world has observed for many years. The MBC have shortlisted two main points for the casual reader to digest.

  1. The date for Marislian independence has been confirmed:

Yes, thats right. As of last night the Morstaybishlian Government announced on their website that they have confirmed the date Marislia will seceed from Great Morstaybishlia will be no later than 1 January 2025. That gives both parties (the Morstaybishlian Government and an ad hoc Marislian Council) no more than four years from the referendum to make all the necessary arrangements. Such arrangements would include things like a functioning government, a defined territory, military and economical assets, and law. Will Marislia adopt a constitution similar to that of Morstaybishlia, or will they aim for something more closely resembling the Ethalns? Will Marislia adopt the same style of government, or will they aim for something else? Of course, if the Morstaybishlian Government and Marislian representatives complete all of these necessary requirements ahead of time, the fixed final date of 1 January 2024 may be brought forward with at least four months notice.

  1. The borders of Marislia have not been finalised:

That’s correct. Marislia has always been defined as the provinces of Caltharus east of the Ider River. They comprise of Aurus, Laulia, Jomsgord, Barbarus and Nocturne. And whilst the guess is that the Ider River is the border between Caltharus on the west and Marislia on the east, several cities on the east of the river have erupted into unceasing protest. Those cities: Lambertupol, Cavenhelm and Aurus, have seen the biggest wave of protests in Aurora since the war protests in 2017. These people, in their tens of thousands, have ground the metropolitan areas of their cities to a halt with their Caltharus and Morstaybishlian flags and unbroken chains of people around the city borders in protest. These cities saw a remain turnout of 83.8 percent or more; and in one Lamburtupol constituency, Marronbyres, the turnout was 93 percent, the highest pro-remain turnout in the entire referendum.

BREAKTHROUGH IN MARISLIA NEGOTIATIONS

A meeting between the Morstaybishlian Government and the Marislian Council concluded just after noon today, in Fort Nocturne.

The meeting was held between five members of the Morstaybishlian Cabinet, including Prime Minister Riannar Karmer; and five members of the Marislian Council (five top members of the Marislian Independence Party, including Romilda von Anzitter and Ismelda Imiela). There has been three meetings since the referendum on the 31st of December last year, and today, finally, it appears like there’s some sort of agreement.

Protests in the cities of Cavenhelm (former PM Franklin Barvata’s constituency), Lambertupol and Aurus sparked a raging debate in the Representatives, on social media, and on many other platforms how best it would be to define Marislia. Traditionally as MARIP pointed out, it included ‘all land east of the Ider River’, but controversially this has been met with three of the most Morstaybishlian influenced cities on the Bishlian to ground to a halt in protest. Perhaps forty years ago these cities would have protested to be apart of an Ethalrian speaking nation, as before the Auroran Imperial War these three cities were apart of the Grand Matriarchy of Ethalria (as was all of the Marislian region), but now, a cultural shift of over forty years has seen the mood change. Today, these three cities are far more connected linguistically, culturally, politically and economically to Caltharus and by extension Morstaybishlia, that the fear of independence - economic unceartanty mostly, but also fear of a hard border; trade, work, and familial ties with Caltharus proper - has seen these cities erupt with protest for remain since the independence referendum.

Out of this meeting today, Romilda von Anzitter and Riannar Karmer has negotiated a deal that would see the metropolitan areas of these three cities remain apart of Morstaybishlia for a minimum of ten years; with another referendum in 2033 and 2043; increments of ten years; to see if support for integration with the country changes.

The Marislian delegation was not able to secure a deal where a Marislian state could align with these cities by trade deals; the Morstaybishlian Government dismissed these ideas as it would force a hard border between Caltharus proper and these three cities, as Marislian would not immediately be apart of the UNAC and thus its free migration of people policy. However, PM Karmer noted that their stance would change if Marislia applied and joined the UNAC.

Prime Minister Riannar Karmer has insisted that ‘the Marislian identity is a critical responsibility of the Morstaybishlian Government. It is vital we allow the people of these east-bank Ider River cities the right to choose their future’.

Following from these comments Deputy Leader Kiri Torohoro of the Justelvardic Independence Alliance (which hold six seats in the Representatives; all of which lie within the Western Outliers Province of Justelvard) posted on the social media giant Vibes accusing the Morstaybishlian PM of having ‘selective hearing’. Kiri Torohoro and the Leader of the party Hemi Toa have led a national Justelvardic identity alliance to six seats in the Representatives following from the 2021 general election. Their six seats concentrade in the Western Outliers Province, where they hold six out of eighteen constituencies and an ever-growing party membership following the 2021 general election.

MARISLIAN STATES NAMED

The Marislian Council has today published a map of what Marislia will look like on a state level when they leave Morstaybishlia.

The Council says the makeup of Marislia by twenty states has been a carefully calculated endeavour based on factors including historic and cultural significance, a spokesperson says.

The Marislian Council website, which explores promises made and fulfilled by the Marislian Council, shows two maps of the Marislian states in Ethalrian, including translated versions in Staynish. When questioned about this, the same spokesperson heavily implied that whilst no decision has been finalised, Ethalrian would be adopted as the national language, whilst Staynish and Calth would be relegated to recognised regional languages.

It raises questions whether Staynish and Calth, languages that have been a mandatory subject in primary education in the Marislian region, will continue to be taught as first and second languages when Marislia leaves Morstaybishlia.

A COINCIDENCE: BY SAMMINEL JOHANNES

Many things in our world are interesting coincidences, like how seven MPs in the Morstaybishlian Representatives share the surname ‘Seven’ and their forenames all derivative from William. How the owners of world famous brasserie The Flazelle took up a new insurance policy on their property protecting against “acts of terrorism” a day before a terrorist bombing caused significant structural damage in 2019. Sometimes these coincidences are small and sometimes they are large. Occasionally they are noticed and talked about in notorious conspiracy forums on the internet like 5san and cafethinkz, but rarely do they get adopted by bigger platforms. Most of the time when these coincidences develop into the realm of conspiracy theory, people turn a blind eye as it’s not directed to them from the convenience of reliable mainstream media. But what if the prolific political pedophile ring conspiracy theory shared by Wiznygrada_69 had some truth in it after all? What if, conspiracy theories that develop online are intentionally hijacked because it doesn’t fit the narrative? People bought out, people silenced. People killed.

Sounds dystopian, doesn’t it? I certainly thought so. Well what if I told you that it is true.

It started some fifty five years ago with Vince Moythels, who was MP for Hashdon, Keveri for 31 years between 1960 and 1991. The name might sound familiar, and that is because days after he died, women across the country filed reports with police that they, as young children, were abused by Moythels. Most were teenagers at the time of their abuse, but some were a lot younger. The victim list of this execrable, perverted abuse that Moythels had managed to hide all this time continued to grow, and with it, a public outcry. Rage circled that this man got away with such heinous crimes in a senior position seemingly unnoticed. During some of the abuse, Moythels served as Parliamentary Under-Secretaries of State for the Colonies in the early 70s.

Though at the time the sexual abuse lodged by victims of Moythels weren’t public, rumours that several of the women reported that Moythels was apart of something bigger fuelled demand for not just a public inquiry, but a full on criminal investigation. Despite the nation yearning for justice against this supposed child sex trafficking ring, nothing came about it. Morstaybishlia was at a crucial point of the Meremaa Civil War and the government’s full attention would be consumed by Morstaybishlia’s affairs in the Concordian Ocean for the next three years, and by the war’s end, the nation was swamped with other issues. Moythels and the alleged sex trafficking ring was, for the most part, an ugly memory.

But was the nation forgetting their demand for a criminal investigation entirely innocent? Didn’t it feel weird that even all of these years later, nothing was ever done about it? Justice was certainly not delivered to these survivors of sexual assault and rape. Finally, an MBC exclusive report dives into some of journalist Samminel Johannes’ findings.

Documents revealed in a Freedom of Information enquiry finds that over ♅220 million in public funds that at the time were believed to have gone into the war effort in Meremaa was used to bribe the police and media by the Delari administration. This money saw reports of sexual abuse in the chamber discredited, not followed up, or go missing. It saw articles written on the subject by young journalists such as myself dismissed and discouraged by higher ups.

Not only are these facts unbelievable, they are hideous. They are the tip of the iceberg into something far deeper. Now we know that not only one politician, Vince Moythels, committed acts of sexual abuse against children, but other members of the government secretly funnelled public funds into ensuring that this information was swept under the carpet. The Conservative MP Tim Crints was alleged as a rapist by a victim in 1995, but the woman’s story was thrown out because at the time of the alleged abuse the woman was proven to have been abusing a Class A substance, cocaine, and that because of this she was deemed to have been in a ‘hallucinatory state’.

A popular conspiracy theory on 5san is that there is a deep network of child sex trafficking and sexual abuse rings in Kalmington. There is a subforum on the website where survivor victims share their stories, and on that alone, over two hundred people since the subforum emerged have told intensely graphic accounts of the times they were abused by politicians in the House.

I wanted to investigate this theory, and I began by interviewing a survivor, who asked to remain anonymous. In her recollection, she counted that she was passed around and sexually abused by no less than 23 people, of which, she named 12 as being sitting members of the House of Representatives.

Of course, this is big news, and I was wondering why this had not been picked up. It is because they do not want you to know. Journalists like me are putting their necks on the line to get this information in the public eye. Only 5 years ago, Nicki Jenkins, a career journalist for the Calth TV Network went missing just days after posting to social media that she was about to publish something that would devastate the Morstaybishlian political landscape. This information was reportedly lost.

A USB memory stick that has assisted with the next part of this article holds information that originated in the Nicki Jenkins report, that was never published. Jenkins was right when she said she was sitting on something catastrophic for the political establishment; she was sat on a dossier containing a comprehensive list of those involved in the child sex trafficking rings. The information is a political landmine.

Finally, this list was composed over six years ago by two politicians, one from Labour and one from the Conservatives, who wish to remain anonymous. There are some big names on this list and it may come as a shock.

POLITICAL LANDMINE: THE NICKI JENKINS REPORT, FIVE YEARS LATE

MEYHEM AS MAJOR POLITICIANS NAMED IN HISTORIC SEXUAL ABUSE DOSSIER - AMONG THEM, PRIME MINISTER RIANNAR KARMER

RIANNAR KARMER among 463 other politicians, high ranking police, judiciary and a royal in the child sex trafficking and sexual abuse dossier, a dossier created by two politicians six years ago that spans over sixty years of known abuse. With names coming from the big three parties; the Conservatives, Labour and the Democrats, the Morstaybishlian political scene has been thrust into chaos.

Among Prime Minister Riannar Karmer in the Labour Party, Secretary of State for International Trade, concurrently President of the Board of Trade Douglas Leovar; former Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for Health and Social Care Richard Meek; Minister without Portfolio Kevin Farmer, have been named in the dossier.

LORD KIRK BRIAN, Leader of the House of Peers; Sir Alex Mell, Leader of the House of Representatives; Vellin Bayleigh, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; and JOHNNY VON HAGUE, DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER, and Vellis Penn, former acting Leader of the Conservatives in the 1970s; all some of the big names of the Conservative Party that have been named in the dossier.

PHIL LAW, Leader of the Democrats in the early 2010s, and many more politicians active in the 1990s Democratic government, among those named.

Already, many of the living alleged abusers have denied all accusations. Riannar Karmer has since dismissed this dossier as heresay, and as apart of this dismissal has slated it for coming at ‘such a terrible time in already turbulent political times’.

According to a police spokesperson, the police non-emergency telephone line has seen an influx of victims of these alleged abusers, much like that after Vince Moythels in 1991.

Protest has emerged in parts of Sani Bursil near to Kalmington, and social media across the world has erupted in fierce debate.

Franklin Barvata has said at an emergency conference that should Karmer loose the confidence of his party in the coming days, he will contest Karmer’s leadership; much like Karmer did when Barvata was incapacitated.

PRIME MINISTER RELEASED UNDER INVESTIGATION

A spokesperson for the prime minister has told MBC that Mr Karmer has attended the police station twice - once yesterday and once this morning - to give statements following the Nicki Jenkins report, where his name and accounts of his actions were listed among hundreds of others in senior offices.

Mr Karmer told his peers that the report was ‘nothing but a farce’ when he addressed the Representatives in Prime Ministers Questions. But it wasn’t just members of the Opposition attacking Karmer, members of his own party did too, including former Prime Minister Franklin Barvata, who warned him that ‘justice would soon pervail against the perverts’. He added that ‘if these accusations hold any truth, it is disgusting that these people have the audacity to turn up to Kalmington’.

Benjamin Wardola, First Opposition Leader, addressed the Representatives with a similar message; he said that the prime minister should resign. But plagued with the accusations of many of his own party members, Wardola said that ‘it is a very dark time for Morstaybishlia’.

Other people named in the dossier have been questioned by the police. Sir Alex Mell, Leader of the Peers, was detained at a private airport in Jersia City, where he was attempting to leave the country with many key possessions. Pigeon and Cafe Net exploded, with journalist Samminel Johannes, who released the dossier, posting: ‘By trying to flee the country, Mell has not just provided the fact that he is guilty, but has reinforced the Nicki Jenkins report is 100% real. Evil people live among us. It is time for drastic political reform.’

ECONOMY UNCERTAIN; POLITICS ASKEW; WHAT’S NEW?

The MBE is facing economic uncertainty following the Nicki Jenkins report. As more evidence unfolds against members of the sitting government, including the prime minister, those working for the ministries have been leaving in what is being called a mass exodus. Many members of government do not want to be affiliated with a prime minister and other cabinet members who are involved in these accusations. As a result, Karmer has halted plans for government buy-outs in the private sector.

Conservative leader Benjamin Wardola has begun suspending sitting Conservative MPs affiliated with the scandal. The Democratic Leader Osbourne Saudaran accused Wardola of acting ‘too little too late’. Labour have not suspended any of its sitting MPs as the prime minister insists the dossier is falsified. Strike action is being considered by two of the major unions, who instructed the prime minister to resign the day after the dossier was made public.

In an interview with the MBC on Saturday evening, Franklin Barvata said ‘it’s high time for Karmer the MBE Harmer to resign’. With the backing of the unions, which Barvata has told the MBC he has aquired, he said he would be gathering support from fellow Labour MPs to trigger a leadership contest against Karmer. To accomplish this, Barvata would need the support of 173 Labour MPs.

FRANKLIN BARVATA TRIGGERS LEADERSHIP CONTEST, RIANNAR KARMER ARRESTED

Former Prime Minister Franklin Barvata reached the required amount of supporting Labour MPs (173) in the Representatives this morning to take on the sitting Prime Minister Riannar Karmer in a leadership contest. Riannar Karmer, who has thus far been under investigation by the police, had been defending himself and other accused colleagues on live television, telling STV and CTV he ‘of course was going to contest Barvata for leadership’. Halfway through the interview, Karmer was told to step down from the lectern as police officers handcuffed him and walked him into the back of their van.

With no sitting Labour leader standing in the contest, Franklin Barvata will go uncontested unless another Labour MP gathers the required 173 MP support from within the party. It is not known if anyone else is running.

FRANKLIN BARVATA RETURNS AS PRIME MINISTER

Franklin Barvata won the Labour leadership race uncontested, as the outgoing Labour leader and now ex-Prime Minister Riannar Karmer was unable to run due to his conviction as a sex offender. No other Labour MPs stood for the leadership race.

Barvata has promised the people many political reforms in the wake of the scandalous and extremely damaging sex offending political rings, with which former Prime Minister Riannar Karmer was involved for over two decades.

Barvata immediately set out to suspend all Labour MPs affiliated in the Nicki Jenkins report who had not been arrested or convicted of sex offences. Over the past week, Barvata has been up and down the country in the many by-elections that have been ongoing, supporting the Labour candidates.

Riannar Karmer will serve a life order in Detention Island, beginning with his transfer from HMP Cavarne. That means he will never see the light of day ever again.

CONSERVATIVE AND LABOUR BRACE FOR SEAT LOSSES ON BY-ELECTION DAY

Polling data conducted by Lord Vantis and the Electoral Forecast says that the Conservatives and Labour parties should brace themselves for the loss of parliamentary seats next Monday, including Taventay South, Keldon Maltings and Quaddersfield.

In a worst-case scenario, the Conservatives risk losing 81 seats, and Labour risk losing 76 seats.

Meanwhile, despite having their own MPs affiliated in the Nicki Jenkins report, the Democrats dominate the polls and are set to win many of Labour and the Conservative losses because their scandals were far less numerous than the big two parties, and Osbourne Saudaran enacted a zero-tolerance policy on the same day as the report, working swiftly to purge the party of scandal.

The Democrats, despite being in a coalition with Labour, refused not to run against Labour’s by-election candidates, fuelling a rift between Franklin Barvata and Osbourne Saudaran. Though this rift exists, Barvata is powerless to terminate the coalition because Labour would be reduced to its minority government, where it only operated with a majority if MARIP did not take their seats (their actual majority at the beginning of their win was considerably slim).

If the Democrats are successful in many of the by-elections, it will only help to strengthen their position in the coalition government with Barvata, and offer them further political sway and power going into the next general election.

DEMOCRATIC LANDSLIDE IN BY-ELECTION DAY

The Democratic Party has scored a landslide victory in the 157 by-elections that took place across the morning and afternoon today, whilst the Conservative and Labour party are bashed by big losses.

Despite their best efforts, leaders of both the Labour and Conservative parties, Franklin Barvata and Benjamin Wardola failed to mitigate losses their parties were expected to hit this Monday, following the Kalmington child sexual abuse scandals.

Osbourne Saudaran, however, has been hailed as the “right man at the right time” by his Democratic peers, as Saudaran and other senior party members welcome their newest Kalmington colleagues, all 128 of them, which raises the Democratic standing in the chamber significantly, from 205 to 333.

Meanwhile, Labour lost 73 seats to hold on to 789, whilst the Conservatives lost the most, with 77 seats falling to other parties. The Conservatives lost their entire 7 seat holding in Justelvard, replaced exclusively by the Democrats (and not the Justelvardic Unionist Party, the dominant Justelvard party). Their party now holds 525 seats. Other parties to gain seats in the chamber are the Liberal Party, largely unaffected by the scandal and gaining 7 seats; and the Greens, who won 12.

The Farmers Union Party’s former leader and Deputy Prime Minister under the Johannes-von Hague coalition Johnny von Hague, was named in the Nicki Jenkins dossier, and paid his bail in full leading up to his first court hearing.

There is now an apparent power different in the chamber, whereby Labour now cannot achieve its weak working majority on its own that it has held from the 2021 general election. Before, Labour held 10 seats over the working majority (the total seats in the chamber, minus the abstentionist Marislian Independence Party and the two speakers) and thus was able to pass legislation as a minority government when party rebellion was not prevalent. Under Karmer’s short administration, the ex-prime minister entered a coalition with the Democrats to bolster their standing in government, which saw government have 1,067 seats, far more than the 898 seats required to form an absolute majority. Barvata inherited this coalition when he returned to office. But now since his party has lost 73 seats and their coalition partners have gained 128, many expect Saudaran will pressure Barvata into relinquishing more cabinet and junior government positions to the Democratic Party, and possibly even rethink the coalition now that he holds more of the cards. Some are even suggesting that if Saudaran held the coalition hostage, he would force a general election, and given the current lack of popularity of the big two parties and the success of the Democratic Party today, might propell the Democrats into their first government in over thirty one years.

MORSTAYBISHLIA AND VISTARALAND SIGN ADDITIONAL 10 BILLION KRB TRADE DEAL

Great Morstaybishlia and the Imperial Vistari Conderation have today signed a trade deal reported to be worth upwards of 10 billion KRB, Flarin Street sources have told the MBC. This comes after the MBE and the KVC already have a series of trade agreements, from the import of beef and fish to machinery, automobiles, beverages, pharmaceutical products, and silicon.

The new free trade deal was signed in Sani Bursil by Count Adelbert van Edalavia, whose one of the Deputy Speakers of the Representatives in the Imperial Vistari Confederation, and Democratic leader and Deputy Prime Minister Osbourne Saudaran, as his first solo step-in for Prime Minister Franklin Barvata. The trade deal is the biggest the MBE has signed this year, and involves the exportation of batteries and rare earth metals for battery production, nuclear reactor components including fuel rods, oil, whisky, lager, and Ogloti wines to the Imperial Vistari Confederation. This comes as the KVC has announced plans for a multi-billion KRB nuclear investment.

Morstaybishlia will begin importing over two hundred million KRB worth of metal-cutting machine tools as the demand for motor vehicle, aerospace, medical, and general machinery manufacturers increase in Great Morstaybishlia and its oversea territories. The MBE will also begin to import more chemicals from the KVC, most importantly acetonitrile and acetone, as well as inorganic chemicals and precious metal compounds. The MBE will also begin importing pharmaceutical products such as esomeprazole, eculizumab, and general laboratory and hospital equipment such as thermometers, volumetric flasks, and needles.

Count Adelbert van Edalavia and Deputy Prime Minister Osbourne Saudaran held other discussions, namely about the aftermath of the May 2022 Nova Sova Conference in Alksearia, which saw the denuclearisation of the Southern Coast after their controversial Operation Star Kindle. Following from the revelations of the nuclear program by the Southern Coast, many nations reacted negatively politically and economically to the Southern Coast, including the MBE and the KVC.

Saudaran also reportedly told Count Edalavia that the MBE would willingly support the KVC against further escalation of tensions in Western Yasteria, namely amidst the ongoing Third Suvani War.

Morstaybishlia and the Imperial Vistari Conderation are scheduled to have another meeting in Vierbak, Vistaraland, at some point later in 2022, the topics that will be discussed is not known.

UNEXPLODED BOMB DESTROYS RESIDENTIAL AREA, DOZENS KILLED

34 people are reported to have been killed so far after an aerial delivered bomb was accidentally detonated in a residential area in Kasidura, Staynes, less than an hour ago. The explosion destroyed the west-facing side of a block of flats in the Dulkersmere area in the south of the city, causing significant damage to Benton’s Row and Heathfield Street.

Firefighters are working hard to fight the growing fires threatening to spread to nearby buildings, having isolated a gas line that had been feeding the fire for over half an hour. First responders have been denied entry to search for missing survivors until the blaze comes under control.

The bomb is believed to be one of many unaccounted for unexploded ordinance (UXOs) in the west of Morstaybishlia following the Triple Campaign in the Auroran Imperial War in 1972. It is said to have been accidentally struck by digging works to replace areas of the nearly 120 year old sewage line in that area, resulting in what is thought to be among the deadliest incidents of post-wartime explosions, with the last unexploded UXO killing four people in a house in Sani Bursil in 2009.

Even with postwar government attempts to make the country bomb-free, isolated events like these still happen today despite 48 years passing since the war ended. Most bombs discovered since the war have been safety disposed of, but there are potentially thousands of unexploded Auroran Imperial War bombs around Morstaybishlia, with emergency services still dealing with up to 130 callouts a year.

ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON TAVARI EMPEROR OTAN IV

Breaking news has come out of the Tavari Union this afternoon after it has been reported that Emperor Otan IV was shot and wounded less than an hour ago. A senior royal spokesperson told the world press that Otan survived the assassination attempt and was rushed to a hospital. It is not clear who shot the royal, but the motive may lay in the politics.

The Royal Tavari Army was deployed to Palace Square soon thereafter and assembled a perimeter around the Royal Palace, ‘to ensure the security of the Silver Court and to address the current situation’, a statement from the prime minister says.

Earlier that day, the primary legislature of the Tavari Union - the National Diet - legalised an Akronist hymn called “No Line but Akrona”, which had been banned after a 1713 court ruling. The hymn dates back over another three centuries, and has been shrouded in controversy, violence and death in part due to its association with the Line Akrona rebellion, a sweeping socio-political movement of the late 15th century.

The song, which has a deeply meaningful importance to Akronists and preaches a message of equality under Akrona, was rendered outrageous by the Avatidar ruling elite at the time; and with a legacy of violent defiance to the King, it has remained controversial ever since with the more right-wing, nationalist movements of the western Gondwanan country.

CIVIC WIN VOTE TO BAN SMARTPHONES FOR UNDER-16S

Folksparts (FPs) have voted to back the Civic’s plan to ban under-16s from owning smartphones, including introducing a statutory ban on mobile phones in schools, during today’s session in parliament.
It comes after years of campaigning against smartphones in schools, arguing that screen time was harmful to mental and physical health, especially in children. For years, the government had no real guidance on the issue, leaving schools and parents unsure on how to act on the issue.
A brainchild of Underling High Elderthane Oslitho Saudagar, he had promised to bring restricting legislation on smartphone use for children and schools as apart of the Civic manifesto, but struggled to gather support from the Progress Party, the larger party in coalition.

The Progress Party initially protested a vote last October, which saw the legislation go back to the drawing board. This protest primarily focused on the drawbacks of children having little to no exposure to the benefits of the internet, and by extension the digital world as job-seeking young adults.
Progress FP Kimbet Ghansolawen, who served as former underling high elderthane under Verlhanz Rothgerus, was a key opponent to the initial proposed legislation, saying: “We need to find a balance here, as children need to be exposed to the internet if they want any chance in our service industry.
Introducing this legislature without consulting top professors - you know, people who know what they’re talking about - would certainly doom the next generation of young adults entering the workforce, they wouldn’t have a clue.”

The amendment would have schools put more emphasis on internet and technology education. The vote tonight has surely secured the future viability of the coalition, after a stormy month of politics.
