BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAGISTERIUM OF THE EAST PACIFIC
SECTION I. CITATION
…1.1. This resolution shall be known and cited as the “Resolution on Government Transparency”.
SECTION II. FINDINGS
…2.1. Each branch of government maintains a forum in The East Pacific forums for use in conveying information and conducting government business.
…2.2. At the time of passage, the Eastern Pacific News Service (EPNS) is an active government program and ministry maintaining lengthy, quality monthly publications.
…2.3. At the time of passage, all branch leaders are encouraged or expected to submit reports to EPNS in the form of news articles, to be posted in each monthly edition.
…2.4. The government is not beholden to any legislated standard of transparency.
…2.5. The Magisterium does not wish to force bureaucratic complications on any branch of government.
…2.6. Nevertheless, transparency, accountability, and access to information are important pillars of a fair and democratic society.
SECTION III. RESOLUTIONS
…3.1. The Delegate is encouraged to create monthly informational or news releases, in EPNS if applicable, or otherwise within a public medium accessible to all citizens, including but not limited to discord and the Executive forum, in which they report on the accomplishments and goals of the Executive branch for the month.
…3.2. The Provost is encouraged to create monthly informational or news releases, in EPNS if applicable, or otherwise within a public medium accessible to all citizens, including but not limited to discord and the Magisterium, Office of the Provost subforum, in which they report on the laws, motions, resolutions, and other activities of the Magisterium for the month.
…3.3. The Viceroy is encouraged to create monthly informational or news releases, in EPNS if applicable, or otherwise within a public medium accessible to all citizens, including but not limited to discord and the Conclave, Viceroy’s Office subforum, in which they report on the court filings, verdicts, and internal management activities of the month.
…3.4. The Grand Vizier is encouraged to create monthly informational or news releases, in EPNS if applicable, or otherwise within a public medium accessible to all citizens, including but not limited to discord and the Praesidium forum, in which they report on the activities and goals of the Viziers, EPPS, and Citizenship Office for the month.
…3.5. All branch leaders are encouraged to announce all appointments and dismissals of leadership offices and official nominations to the branch, and maintain up-to-date information on branch membership, even when not required by law.
…3.6. Though EPNS is encouraged as a medium of communication for the government, it should not be limited to government-sponsored or endorsed ideas.
…3.7. Branch leaders are encouraged to respond to questions, requests, and petitions for action when they arrive, and maintain a medium by which such may be made.
